I have a wildlife zoo-Chapter 646 - 645: Giant Panda Birthday Party
August 22nd!
The birthday party was set to start at 10 a.m., which was considered quite an appropriate time.
Too early might conflict with sleep time, and if it were in the afternoon, the sun would be up, and it could get rather hot.
"Yingying, we're going to celebrate the giant panda's birthday!"
At that moment, Yingying was standing on a stool, holding onto the balcony railing and looking into the distance. Hearing Liu Xueqing's call, she jumped down from the stool.
Although the family of collared doves had already abandoned their nest and flown away, Yingying still liked to run to the balcony from time to time to look up at the sky in their residential area, hoping to spot them, to see how they had grown.
After learning to fly, the young collared dove didn't leave right away, but stayed around the balcony for about three more days, honing its flying skills.
About a week after it had flown away, one of the young doves came back for a visit, resting on the balcony where it was born and eating some clean water and bird food that Liu Xueqing had prepared for them.
When Liu Xueqing came into the living room and saw that the dove had returned, she was about to call Yingying to have a look. Yet the young dove had become very alert and flew away as soon as it saw someone approach, much more agile than when it had learned to fly.
However, to see them again, they probably had to wait until next spring.
Yingying hopped around, shouting, "Eat cake, eat cake!"
Looking at her lively and joyful expression, it seemed she was even happier than if it had been her own birthday.

Liu Xueqing had already told her that they could eat cake at the zoo today, and knowing that, along with her love for giant pandas, Yingying was even more excited.
She strapped on her little backpack, then took it off to open and check it once more.
Inside was a painting about pandas!
It featured a black and white panda hugging a tree trunk, with "Happy Birthday Cloud, Zhuangzhuang" written next to it in pinyin, as she still couldn't read characters.
There were no painting activities at the zoo today, but Yingying painted this picture because she liked the pandas and wanted to wish them well.
Liu Xueqing squatted down, laughed and stroked Yingying's head, and helped tidy her braids, "The giant pandas will definitely like your gift! By the way, do you know what the panda's cake is made of?"
Yingying shook her head instinctively but then said, "Bamboo!"
Although young and still in kindergarten, her many trips to the zoo had given her quite a bit of knowledge about pandas.
Liu Xueqing kissed Yingying's cheek, "That's right!"
Suddenly remembering something, Yingying furrowed her little brows, looking as if she were seriously pondering, "What cake will we eat?"
Yingying's father laughed from the side, "Haha, of course, it's cream cake for us. Did you think we'd give you a bamboo cake?"
Yingying stuck out her tongue!
Then Yingying's father started the car, loading up the family and driving toward the zoo.
...
At the entrance of the zoo!
Today, the zoo was also filled with a festive atmosphere. Volunteers dressed in panda costumes were moving around among the visitors, distributing panda balloons to the children, and were happy to pose for photos with anyone who asked.
The kids, holding their balloons, ran around joyfully, filling the air with their cheerful voices and laughter.
Yingying too received a balloon, held it in her hand, and took a photo with a volunteer!
In the square, there were many cute panda posters on display on either side, and on the grass next to the prize drawing machine, an extra-large panda plushie was sitting back against a tree trunk, drawing countless gazes.
Liu Xueqing exclaimed in amazement, "Wow, what an amazing prize! A pillow-sized plushie sells for 200 yuan; this human-sized plushie must be worth at least two or three thousand, right?"
Yingying's father laughed, "Let's see if Yingying can win one today."
The visitors entering the zoo were basically heading straight for the panda exhibit.
The panda exhibit was bustling now!
Behind the glass curtain wall at a distance of about two meters, a string of tables stretching for over a dozen meters was assembled, with volunteers arranging cakes on top.
The cake was a 40 cm square, basically one piece for each character, put together to read, "Happy 5th birthday to the adorable giant pandas Cloud and Zhuangzhuang at Linhai Zoo."
The more characters on top, the more cake there is to share with the visitors.
A girl watched the volunteers arrange the cakes and exclaimed excitedly, "Wow, we're in for a treat later!"
Her companion retorted, "Wake up! Look at how many people are here? I'm worried we won't have enough to go around."
The girl turned to look and realized that it was indeed the case! There were at least several hundred people at the panda exhibit by now.
The cake had been customized a week in advance, and the cake shop owner delivered it first thing this morning.
The owner initially offered the cake for the giant panda's birthday celebration free of charge, saying his own child also loved giant pandas and considered it a sponsorship.
The zoo gratefully accepted, but insisted on paying.
Outside the venue, preparations were underway, and the activity area inside was being cleared for the pandas to retreat to their backstage enclosure.
Fang Ye arrived at the panda exhibit and, after disinfecting, entered the activity area.
At that moment, Cloud was perched in a tree!
With legs apart on either side of the branch, she performed an aerial split for the visitors, evoking laughter from everyone watching.
Fang Ye called up to the tree with a chuckle, "Cloud! Come down now!"
Hearing Fang Ye's call, Cloud leisurely adjusted herself and climbed down from the tree.
Next to the tree was a perch!
As she got close to the ground, Cloud hugged the branch with her arms and looked down, aiming to step onto the perch before descending the rest of the way.
But upon returning to the perch, her bottom slid off the edge.
She stretched out her paws trying to grab the perch, but still couldn't change her fate!
She tumbled directly down from the perch, hands held up, and her plump bottom hit the ground first, "duang" – landing right under the perch.
From a distance, Fang Ye instinctively reached out to catch Cloud, of course catching only loneliness.
But for a panda, falling from a height was pretty much part of daily life.
Cloud got up as if nothing had happened, looking around as though she couldn't find Fang Ye.
Fang Ye laughed and called out, "Cloud!"
Cloud perked up her ears and, recognizing the voice, trotted over joyfully!
Her gait was lively as she ran, almost as if she were going to bounce into the air, her soft large ears swinging back and forth, as if taking flight, indicating her cheerful mood.
"Wow, those ears are too cute!"
"A few hundred pounds of joy – the happy bear!"
"She's in a good mood today!"
"The director usually treats Cloud well, and Cloud adores the director too. Of course, she's happy when she sees him coming."
"Cloud is really beautiful!"
"Heheh, I used to think the yellowish part on her fur was pee, but I learned from the guide that's the actual color of her fur."
The visitors engaged in lively discussions.
Fang Ye squatted down and rubbed Cloud's big ears, smiling and asking, "Running so fast, do you know it's your birthday today, huh?"
Cloud: "Hmm!"
