I Have a Date with a Thousand-year-old Female Corpse-Chapter 1339: Blushing Nicole
Chapter 1339: Chapter 1339: Blushing Nicole
"Smiling Knife and Rain Sword, you will each attack the Necromancer King’s other bases. Ig, explain the details of the locations to them in a bit."
"Understood," Ig replied.
You continued, "My requirement for you is simple: if you can win, kill; if you cannot win, retreat. Your primary goal is to delay their time."
"Got it!" Smiling Knife and Feng Yujian shouted in unison.
"Meanwhile, I will join White Shadow for a direct assault on the Necromancer King’s castle. This is our only shot. If we lose, we’ll all have to start over."
"You can start over, but we can’t," Nicole said, a flash of sorrow passing through her eyes. "We NPCs cannot resurrect after death. For us, this world is real."
You clasped Nicole’s small hand and spoke earnestly, "Don’t worry. As long as everyone gives it their all, we won’t lose. If it comes down to it, and we really can’t hold them off, immediately retreat. At worst, we withdraw to the Human World."
"Alright." Nicole’s face flushed as you held her hand.
Though you noticed Nicole’s odd reaction, you didn’t pay much attention to it. Instead, you issued an order to Ig: "Go get everything ready. I need some time to myself."
"Understood."
Everyone withdrew, except for Nicole, who remained at your side. You looked at her with a smile. "What’s the matter?"
"My lord, are you still angry with me?" Nicole asked, her voice tinged with the threat of tears.
"Hey, now, don’t cry. Didn’t I already say I wasn’t angry? I just need some quiet time to think about things and make plans for what’s coming."
"You really aren’t mad at me?"
"Nicole, I said I wasn’t. What’s done is done; she’s simply a Demon Girl. While I did admire her ability to turn enemies into frogs, she’s dead now. Why dwell on such things? What matters right now is figuring out how to deal with the Necromancer King, not other unrelated stuff."
"Thank you, my lord." Nicole gave a relieved smile as she spread her wings and flew out of the hall.
"Such a child," you chuckled softly.
When the room was empty save for yourself, you retrieved Ming Ye from your Spatial Bag. Gazing at the blue glow emanating from Ming Ye in your hands, you suddenly felt a sense of disconnect between you and the artifact. Though the root of the issue wasn’t clear, it was undeniable—you hadn’t fully grasped Ming Ye.
Especially whenever you stashed Ming Ye into the Spatial Bag, you would feel as though you’d made a mistake—that Ming Ye shouldn’t be hidden there but rather carried somewhere on your person.
Unable to figure it out, you decided not to waste any more time. Instead, you opted to head outside for a walk to seek potential insight.
As you stepped out of the castle, a white figure suddenly leapt into your arms. "Woo—" White Shadow, behaving like a child seeking affection, rubbed its body incessantly against your chest.
"Be good, White Shadow, let’s go for a walk."
"Woo."
Thus, you led White Shadow out of the castle, arriving at the graveyard nearby. The land surrounding Ig’s estate resembled a Mass Grave, with the remains of tens of thousands of humans buried here. You and White Shadow did not disturb the bones but continued forward.
"My lord." At the edge of the graveyard, two gray Ghosts suddenly drifted in front of you. "Beyond this point is outside Ig’s domain; please proceed with caution."
You nodded, thanked them, and went straight ahead, leaving the graveyard.
Exiting the graveyard led you into what appeared to be a long-abandoned mine. Surprisingly, as soon as you stepped into the mine, the soil became loose, and the blue glow of Ming Ye grew stronger in your hand.
Could there be treasure here? You wondered.
Yet, upon reaching the end of the mine, you didn’t find any treasure. Instead, you discovered a solitary white Skeleton.
"Roar!"
As you took a step closer, over a dozen skeletons instantly jumped out of the ground around you.
Note—these skeletons didn’t crawl out; they *jumped* out!
Each of these armored Skeleton Soldiers wielded Heavy Swords. Their bones were noticeably thicker than normal, and their bodies larger than a human’s, suggesting that they weren’t ordinary humans in life—or perhaps not human at all. The skeletons formed a curious battle array, encircling you and White Shadow.
"Roar!"
White Shadow prepared to launch an attack, but you stopped it. Observing that the skeletons weren’t attacking but seemed to be guarding the seated white skeleton, you bowed to the white skeleton. "Greetings. I have no intention of offending you. I happened to enter this place by accident. If I disturbed your rest, please forgive me. We will leave at once."
"Wait," the white skeleton suddenly raised its head, its violet eyes staring directly at the Ming Ye in your hand. "How did you obtain it?"
"It?" You looked at Ming Ye. "I don’t know either. At the time, I was so determined to kill that I grabbed whatever blade was nearby and struck. Afterward, it absorbed all the blood from my wound."
"I see," the white skeleton lowered its head again. "Leave. I am waiting for someone fated."
You understood—this white skeleton was likely an NPC for a quest you hadn’t received.
"Apologies for the disturbance." You turned and left with White Shadow.
As you reached the mine’s exit, the white skeleton’s voice echoed clearly through the hollow: "When you believe you have the strength to challenge the Three Kings of Netherworld, go to Purple Moon Peak. Something awaits you there."
You nodded and led White Shadow back toward Ig’s castle.
"My lord, the master is looking for you," a Ghost informed you as you returned to the graveyard.
"Alright, I’ll head back right away."
"What’s going on?" Quickly arriving at the castle, you saw Ig and the others with anxious expressions.
Ig rushed to report, "The Necromancer King has sensed our intentions. She has emerged from seclusion and is now leading an army of 200,000 undead toward us!"
You frowned but said nothing.
"My lord, what should we do? With our current forces, we can’t possibly fight them head-on."
With a slow exhale, confidence flickered across your face as you smiled faintly. "Avoid their strength; strike at their weakness."
"My lord, what do you mean? I don’t quite understand," one NPC asked.
"Does your lord mean we avoid their strong forces and target the most vulnerable parts instead?" a Mage speculated.
"You only got half of it right," you replied and turned to Ig. "Can you gather intelligence on the Necromancer King’s troop formations?"
"The Necromancer King’s army consists of her Witch Soldier Group, with about a hundred Necromancers. Then there are eight thousand Zombies, including Ghosts and Ghouls. The rest are Skeleton Soldiers."frёewebnoѵēl.com
