I hacked through the chaotic world with my blade-Chapter 1515 - 361: You Help Me, I’ll Help You Solve the Problem (Part 2)
The three hunters were terrified. Creaking sounds echoed, and although no one was there, the tightly shut wooden door was pushed open. Outside, it was pitch black, as dark as ink, with no hint of light.
Even the campfire’s glow couldn’t penetrate the darkness, only illuminating the limited area of the dilapidated temple.
The wind outside howled ominously.
"Hehehehehe..."
"I didn’t expect to find four tasty beings full of vitality. This is truly lucky. To think that a mere copper coin blessed by a Mountain God at the Qi Refinement Realm could hope to stop me, they’re dreaming."
An eerie voice came from the darkness.
The three hunters felt a chill run through their bodies, as if they had fallen into an icy cellar.
Just then, a voice broke the tense atmosphere.
"Do you know where the Immortals are?"
Suddenly, the terrifying atmosphere vanished, even the ghost in the darkness was caught off guard, clearly not expecting someone to ask such a question at this moment.
It was as bizarre as when everyone is talking about being full of positive energy, and someone suddenly exclaims, "Wow, look at how round this butt is..."
"What did you say?"
The ghost in the darkness looked at Lin Fan, who was dressed oddly, as if it misheard.
"Do you know where the Immortals are?" Lin Fan continued to inquire.
A silhouette slowly appeared in the darkness, wearing a dark green robe, with a tall hat on its head, and a scarlet tongue hanging from its mouth.
It looked quite similar to the Black and White Impermanence.
Though the three hunters were experienced in mountain hunting and naturally courageous, they were so frightened when they saw the ghost appear that their souls almost flew out of their bodies.
"Immortal, I am the Immortal."
The ghost pretended to be dignified in front of mortals, trying to elevate its own status. After all, pretending didn’t cost anything.
"No, you’re not the Immortal. You’re too weak. If the Immortals were as weak as you, my hometown wouldn’t have become like this," Lin Fan said.
"How dare you!"
A sharp, piercing roar sounded, "A mere mortal dares to be arrogant? Watch as I drain your essence."
The ghost was enraged, surrounding itself with gusts of cold wind, and its hanging red tongue darted towards Lin Fan like a sharp arrow, intending to force it into the mortal’s mouth, into his stomach, to drain all his essence, leaving him a dried corpse.
The three hunters watched with wide eyes, trembling with fear, not daring to move.
Facing the attacking red tongue, Lin Fan remained entirely unperturbed, raising a hand to grab it, which greatly shocked the ghost. Before it could react, it felt itself being pulled uncontrollably towards the broken temple.
Lin Fan dragged the ghost in front of him. Unlike Awakeners or zombies, the ghost’s power was peculiar.
"Can you tell me where the Immortals are?" Lin Fan asked.
The ghost, grabbed by its tongue, stared blankly at Lin Fan, feeling clearly humiliated. Flipping its palm, a black bell appeared, and it shook it violently.
With each shake, the air around slightly vibrated with each collision of the bell’s core.
"Ah, my head hurts, it hurts so much."
"It pains me to death."
"My head is going to split open."
The three hunters clutched their heads, rolling in pain, overwhelmed with agony.
The ghost was quite pleased with itself. This was its Magic Artifact, the ’Soul Scattering Bell,’ producing sounds that inflicted immense pain on the opponent’s Spirit, similar to being scattered into oblivion.
Seeing the three hunters suffering so, Lin Fan abruptly took the bell from the bewildered ghost and crushed it in his palm. With a cracking sound, the bell shattered, its core dropping to the ground.
"Huh?"
The ghost was dumbstruck, not anticipating such an outcome.
The ’Soul Scattering Bell’ was just a common little Magic Artifact, but it was not something that could be destroyed so effortlessly.
Thud!
The ghost knelt down.
"Spare me, senior, spare me."
Despite his lack of Mana, just one move was enough to make the ghost realize it had encountered a hard wall. It was just beyond expectations, as the other seemed like a mere mortal, without any detectable Mana fluctuations.
Suddenly, the ghost understood. The opponent’s level was undoubtedly quite high, possibly a master at the Foundation Establishment Realm, or even a powerhouse at the Core Formation Realm.
So high that he could not perceive it.
"Can we have a proper conversation now?" Lin Fan asked.
"Yes, of course we can. Please ask, Senior. I wouldn’t dare to hide anything."
The ghost’s attitude was extremely amenable, showing flattery, desperately wanting to serve this senior well to spare its life—well, it had already died once.
"Where are the Immortals?"
"Huh?" The ghost was bewildered. Senior, you are a top expert of the Cultivation World, yet you’re asking me where the Immortals are. It sounds suspicious, "Senior, I haven’t seen Immortals either. Do you mean Immortal Sects, or something else?"
"Immortal Sects."
"Senior, we’re in Chaozhou. There are quite a few Immortal Sects in Chaozhou, a dozen large and small ones. Do you want to know about any specific ones, Senior?"
"Tell me all of them."
"Yes, yes, yes."
The ghost dared not conceal anything. Regardless of the size of the sects, it recounted all it knew. But given its cultivation level, it was not easy to truly come into contact with those sects, so its knowledge was incomplete and superficial.
It didn’t even know their exact locations, as it had never left this mountain.
Back when it was still a mortal, it came here for an outing and accidentally fell off a cliff. Who would have thought it landed in a place full of ominous energy? Over time, that transformed it into a ghost. Sixty years had passed, and it had only managed to cultivate to the mid-stage of the Qi Refining Realm.
