I Go to the High Seas for Fishing But Get Hunted by an Aircraft Carrier-Chapter 946: Completing the Mission Alone
"Alright, be careful on your way. We'll stay in touch. That's it."
After speaking, he hung up the phone.
"Wow, it was really thrilling with no real danger. I didn't expect that we did, in fact, become their target of suspicion."
"That's why I felt something odd about this. Thankfully, we made these arrangements and preparations in advance, so they didn't immediately find the flaw."
"Given that's the case, what do we need to do next?"
"There's nothing more to do. I already feel that these guys definitely don't fully believe what's going on, so we continue to stay here, just in case."
"Alright, it seems that's the only thing we can do."
"Hey, by the way, how long has he been out?"
Ye Chen suddenly raised his wrist and checked the time. He hadn't realized that it had only been half an hour, meaning under normal circumstances, he shouldn't be back by now.
"Look, you're so tense. She just left not too long ago. There shouldn't be any problems."
"Haha, maybe I'm overthinking it. Alright, let's patiently wait here. Once there's a result, we'll analyze it."
After speaking, the two of them sat down near the estate.
To ensure everything goes smoothly tomorrow, Anying must practice operating the machine tonight.
"Because all the machines, once they're out, have a time requirement. If there's any mishap or problem midway, everything will have to start over."
Starting over is not scary for Anying; she's mostly worried that once the signal for starting over is sent out, it could easily be detected by others.
They waited for about an hour, then heard the sound of someone walking outside.
Upon hearing this, Ye Chen rushed forward, because at this moment, the only one approaching could be Lin Yaru.
Lin Yaru had been out for an hour. Honestly, Ye Chen's heart had been hanging here, and letting her go out alone to find food in this unfamiliar place made him worried she might not manage.
After he crawled out of the cave, he saw Lin Yaru carrying a black plastic bag, which looked quite full, implying it held a lot of things.
Seeing Ye Chen come over, Lin Yaru just smiled slightly, and finally, Ye Chen quickly stepped forward and took the plastic bag into his own hands.
When he hefted it, he found it was quite heavy, indicating it held a fair amount of something.
"Impressive, what's inside?"
"Don't worry, there's everything. I didn't expect that not far from the village, there's a deli convenience store at the entrance, offering whatever you could want, so I just bought some. Not knowing everyone's tastes, I picked a little bit of everything. It'll be more than enough for tonight."
"You've worked hard, come on, let's head inside."
While speaking, he led Lin Yaru back into the cave.
Basically, all issues, including food and shelter, had been resolved, and now it was just about waiting.
After eating, they just patiently waited inside the cave. Tonight was indeed a sleepless night for them.
"By the way, I remember someone said he should arrive before dawn, meaning he should be the first one to get here, right?"
"Yes, that's right. I set up some alarm sensors outside. If anyone approaches, the alarm will sound, and we'll know the situation outside."
"That's great, allowing us to prepare and plan ahead."
"When they approach, you two find a hiding spot first, and I'll wait at the entrance. Once he enters, I'll deal with him there. Don't worry, everything is prepared for safety."
Hearing this, Anying and Lin Yaru nodded, as Ye Chen was taking charge of the operation, leaving them with little to do.
Ye Chen felt drowsiness creeping in and let out a long yawn before checking the time. It was already 2:00 AM.
In another two to three hours, dawn would break, meaning the next few hours were crucial as the person would likely approach the cave soon.
He patiently waited here, then suddenly, the alarm started sounding, and everyone in the cave became alert.
Anying quickly went to the alarm outside and cautiously pointed to a middle spot.
Ye Chen understood someone was nearing, and analysis indicated only one person was approaching. This presented Ye Chen with a perfect opportunity to act.
He was also worried about a crowd rushing in, making it challenging to handle, whereas dealing with them one by one posed no issues.
"Hey, are you inside?"
At that moment, a voice came through, prompting Ye Chen to prepare, holding the voice changer close to his ear.
"Yes, I'm inside, come over, I'm adjusting the machine here."
"Okay, got it."
Hearing the familiar voice, the person outside relaxed his guard and then bent down to enter the cave, where the lighting was rather dim.
As they got closer, there were areas shrouded in darkness, making it hard to discern the situation inside even when coming in.
