I Evolve By Collecting Infinite Spirits-Chapter 56: Shop Search
Sin spent most of the day looking for large beast and dungeon material establishments.
He found a few, but they didn’t match what he was looking for.
Every single store he visited only allowed him to sell his product in person.
He didn’t actually care about how much he could sell at these stores. This was because he wasn’t going to sell to any of them anyway.
His main objective for coming here was to see how the process of selling worked.
If he had to drop off the product in person himself, it was definitely a no-go. He couldn’t afford for his identity to be tied to his product at all.
However, if there was a way he could anonymously sell to a store--that would be something that he was willing to consider.
In a high-functioning society such as this, Sin hoped that something like this existed.
In the end, he even tried to sell to small stores. However, he was left without any luck.
Finally, Sin arrived outside of the largest shop in the entire city for beast and dungeon materials. It was practically his ’final shot.’
It was two stories tall and nearly as wide as half a foot-ball field--clearly something that could buy in bulk.
When he entered, he was instantly greeted with cool--fresh air conditioning. The interior of the building was modern. The floors were made of marble and glass covered the walls.
At the very back of the room was a large display area. A trophy wall filled with mounted skulls, fangs, claws, and horns from seemingly powerful beasts.
There were preserved heads in pedestals encased in glass, description plaques before them that described their history.
The main bulk of the store was filled with several sections.
There was a raw materials section with bones, various scales, hides, organs, and also bodily fluids preserved in jars.
There was also a section for crafting ingredients such as hearts imbued with Spirit Energy, powders ground from rare keratin, beast fat, and plant oils.
As Sin surveyed the room, he took note of what was most importantly valued.
At another part of the store were various ores, crystals, stones and natural dust’s. Here, the centerpiece was a massive Spirit Crystal the size of a horse that stood tall over everything else.
There were other smaller sections for weapons and armor, but Sin’s goals weren’t catered toward that for now.
He had already seen enough and headed to the back of the store. There, he met the merchant running the place.
It was a fairly average-looking man with slightly more plump cheeks than the average city-goer.
The man was also wearing a long robe with golden embroidery and wool at the bottom. It gave a sense of luxury and status.
Sin approached the counter, but the merchant simply ignored him and continued fiddling with a small crystal ball on a bracelet on his wrist.
It resembled a watch or a Hunter Bracelet, but it seemed a bit less technological and more raw Spirit Energy-based.
"Ahem..." Sin cleared his throat, hoping to get the man’s attention.
Finally, the merchant’s eyes glanced at the young man for a split second.
’Tsk... another bum in my store. What does he want? He’s clearly stumbled into the wrong place.’ He decided to continue ignoring Sin.
Usually, street rats would leave his place alone if he didn’t interact with them.
However, Sin was no street rat.
"Oi!" Sin called out, finally garnering the mans full attention, "Im trying to speak with you here!"
"What do you want!?" The merchant replied almost immediately, walking over to where Sin was, "Haven’t I told you scoundrels already? Don’t come into my store begging for discounts or handouts. I--" He was cut off abruptly.
"You don’t know who the hell I even am, so stop blabbering before you say something you regret," Sin stated in a low and casual tone. He sounded as though he didn’t care for what the merchant had to say, and simply wanted to get to his business.
The merchant sighed, staring at Sin with narrowed eyelids, "Spill it then... don’t make me ask what you want again."
"I want to sell things here."
"Oh? Is that right... its almost like thats what this store is for." The man rolled his eyes as he retorted in a satirical tone.
Sin felt a bit irked as soon as the merchant did this, ’This fucker...’ He clenched his fist, ’I might just beat his ass up right now.’
The merchant saw Sin’s eyelids lower and brows furrow. In order to not make a scene, he let the boy continue.
"I had a question..." Sin said, clenching his jaw to withhold his anger, "Say I were to sell something from a dungeon... something like a Spirit Crystal. How much would I be able to sell here?"
The merchant raised a brow, "Trust me, kid, someone like you don’t have to worry about limits when it comes to my store. What you have in your little sack is probably meant for the small beast material shacks lined against the streets... not a large establishment like this."
"So I can sell you however much I want?"
"Hell no! You can’t sell me jack! I don’t accept anything from untrusted individuals, first of all."
Sin knew this was false, musing: ’I’m sure you would trust me if I shoved a bar of gold in your face.’
"Secondly, I buy expensive materials... not normal Spirit Crystals. Unless you have a bulk rivaling that of the damn lord of the city, get the hell out of my store."
Sin didn’t appreciate the bastard’s remarks, but he needed to get critical information here.
He needed to see if he could sell anonymously or not.
"Just tell me this... what are the different modes that I can sell to you?"
The merchant almost couldn’t believe the gall of this boy.
’Is this kid serious? Does he think I’m actually having a cordial conversation with him or something? I’m clearly trying to tell him to fuck off...’
"Look... let me be frank with you so you don’t waste any more of my time. There are two ways you can sell to me. You either drop off your product right here in person, or you hire someone to drop off your product. As long as your information is in the system, the money will be transferred to you through several options of your choice."
Sin tsked, "That’s not going to work." He muttered. ’Looks like even this place is not feasible.’
The merchant scoffed, "Sure..." He dismissed what the young man said, "As if you had a choice of what worked and what didn’t."
At that moment the merchant looked down at the small crystal-orb watch on his wrist.
"Shoot... and now im already a bit late for the auction. I knew I should have just kicked you out."
The man started scurrying, speed-walking around the counter before grabbing a large wool coat from a rack and struggling to put it on.
As he rushed towards the exit, he addressed Sin one last time: "The store is closed. Get out!"
"Wait!" Sin blurted.
"What do you mean!? I need you out of the store so I can leave! Now get out!"
"You said you were going to an auction? What kind of auction?" Sin was intrigued, ’An auction wouldn’t be half bad... in fact, I might even be able to find a way to sell my product there.’
"The nightly auction. The damn city’s nightly auction. What more do you want from me? Just get out of my store before I have you executed, boy!"
