I Cast Forbidden Spells Until the World Breaks-Chapter 84 Guess We Were Never Meant to Be
Glug. Glug. Glug.
When Zayne woke up, the mushroom pot was still boiling.
It was cooking his head like a stew.
The flesh on his entire head was fully done.
His nerves had been cooked through.
He could not feel pain at all.
He reached over and felt around on Eva.
She was still poisoned and unconscious.
With a thought, his immortality’s terrifying regeneration kicked in.
The cooked flesh peeled off in chunks.
It kept dropping until a fresh skull was exposed.
Then new muscle fibers grew across bone.
Blood vessels formed.
Skin followed.
Even his eyeballs, which had fallen out, regenerated and popped back into place.
"The mushrooms really were delicious," Zayne muttered with a bitter smile.
"Next time I should sleep farther from the pot."
He was not a masochist.
He had no interest in getting his head boiled on purpose.
That horrifying scene played out in full view of the Treasureback Golden Turtle.
It had been hanging upside down all night.
Its already round, bulging eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
Humans could recover like that?
Even monsters would be dead for sure with a head cooked through.
Eva still had not woken up.
Zayne walked over to the Treasureback Golden Turtle.
He flicked its pale belly.
"So," Zayne said, "you have been hanging here all night."
"You still will not spit out the good stuff?"
"Do you really want to hang here until you die?"
The turtle stayed silent.
It clearly had no intention of handing anything over.
Zayne did not bother forcing it anymore.
He woke Eva up.
Then he dumped the turtle and all their bags onto her.
After that, he set off again to grind mobs.
The Champion Secret Realm still had 24 days before it closed.
He refused to believe this turtle could hold out under 24 days of torture.
From then on, Zayne and Eva worked in perfect sync.
Zayne threw Forbidden Spells and deleted monsters.
Eva abused the Treasureback Golden Turtle until it coughed up loot.
They rampaged through the Champion Secret Realm like a disaster.
Their EXP climbed at a ridiculous pace.
In the blink of an eye, more than half a month passed.
Only five days remained before the realm closed.
At the realm’s exit, three priests stumbled out of the operating room.
Dark circles hung under their eyes.
Their faces looked hollow with exhaustion.
Priest One exhaled and spoke to Robert.
"We did not fail you."
"The surgery was a success."
"Garen and the others are mostly back to normal."
Robert’s face lit up.
"Good."
"You three worked hard."
"Do not worry."
"I will report your contributions exactly as they are."
Right then, Garen’s group was pushed out of the operating room by medical staff.
"Robert," one champion said weakly.
"I think my face is off."
"My face looks kind of square."
"Square is good," Robert said, waving him off.
"A square face looks steady."
"But," the champion muttered, "is it supposed to be this square?"
He sat up.
His face was a perfect square.
Sharp corners. Crisp edges.
Robert jumped and grabbed a priest.
"What is going on?"
The priest sighed.
"They were crushed into meat pancakes."
"Rebuilding them into human shape this fast is already impressive."
"The face shape can be fixed later." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
"He can find a plastic surgeon."
"That makes sense," Robert said, nodding.
Another champion spoke up.
"Robert, what about me?"
"I have uneven arms."
"Not everyone’s arms are the same length," Robert said.
"You will get used to it."
"It is not just uneven," the champion snapped.
"It is insane."
He raised his arms.
One arm was normal.
The other was only a few inches long.
Robert’s pupils widened slowly.
Then he grabbed a priest by the collar.
"You are messing with me."
"You call this a successful surgery?"
The priest panicked.
"Boss, listen."
"Half a month to stitch together over a dozen people."
"That is basically one person per day."
"Mistakes happen."
"I can fix his arm."
"Just calm down."
After that, more and more problems showed up.
One person’s intestines had grown taste buds.
One person had an actual anus in their palm.
One person had a tongue growing out of their armpit.
The area outside the operating room filled with furious complaints.
Garen broke into a cold sweat.
He checked his own body fast.
He did not have any of those weird issues.
He finally exhaled in relief.
Then hatred flashed in his eyes.
He threw off the blanket and got out of bed.
He was going to find Zayne and settle the score.
He had not forgotten who had forced him through this nightmare rebuild.
But the moment he stood up, something felt wrong.
Because Garen realized he had two left feet.
"Zayne," Garen hissed through clenched teeth.
"This is not over."
His eyes burned with fury.
Zayne could spam Forbidden Spells in the Champion Secret Realm.
That was only because of the realm’s immortal rule.
Once they left, that rule would be gone.
And without it, Zayne would go back to being a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
When that happened, Garen would make him pay.
He would teach Zayne what it meant to offend Garen.
Inside the Champion Secret Realm, Zayne had no idea Garen was targeting him.
He was busy searching for monsters.
Two hours passed.
He found two living humans.
He did not find a single monster.
In the end, Zayne faced reality.
It looked like he had already killed everything in the realm.
At this point, Zayne was Level 25.
Eva had reached Level 23.
One thing was worth mentioning.
That Treasureback Golden Turtle still refused to spit.
Its pale belly was covered in bruises.
Eva had pounded it purple and blue.
The turtle still stayed stubborn.
Zayne hung it upside down again.
He calmly patted its shell.
"Little golden turtle," Zayne said, "we are leaving today."
The turtle’s eyes lit up instantly.
Its suffering was finally ending.
"If you will not give me the treasures in your stomach," Zayne said,
"then I will not force you."
"Maybe we were never meant to be."
Zayne let out a quiet sigh.
"We have met, after all."
"I tortured you for a long time."
"Today I will be kind."
"I will give you a quick ending."
He raised his hand.
Storm clouds gathered at once.
Silver lightning slithered through the clouds.
Then a furious bolt dove down like an apocalypse dragon.
It connected directly to Zayne’s palm.
"Forbidden Spell Worldbane Thunderfall!"
