I Cast Forbidden Spells Until the World Breaks-Chapter 105 When Did You Start Suspecting Me
Zayne felt his mind explode.
It all made sense now.
Every piece fit.
There was no such thing as kindness without reason. An astrologer was a profession that peered into fate itself. With Astrachior’s power, he could glimpse fragments of the future. Such a terrifying ability naturally came with backlash. But if one possessed immortality, the price of peering into destiny could simply be ignored.
If Astrachior wanted his immortality, then everything suddenly became clear.
Taking him in as a disciple for no apparent reason. Handing him the Apocalypse Ancient Key. Guiding him step by step to this place.
Perhaps the key could only lead to the Eternal Scales while it was inside his body.
That deep familiarity etched into his soul was not an illusion. The Eternal Scales were undeniably bound to him.
Maybe from the very moment he underwent his class awakening, Astrachior had already begun plotting against him. With the terrifying reach of an astrologer, that was entirely possible.
It was even possible that everything he was doing right now was still within Astrachior’s calculations.
A deep, bone chilling fear crept into Zayne’s heart. Being hunted by someone like this was enough to rob anyone of sleep.
"You talk too much."
"Starblade."
Astrachior raised a long finger and pointed at the flesh mass.
Countless blades formed from condensed starlight appeared out of thin air, dense enough to blot out the sky. They pierced straight through the flesh mass, skewering it from every direction like a grotesque sea urchin. Foul, reeking fluid spilled from its wounds.
The stench was indescribable, like unwashed feet, rotten durian, and stinky tofu all heated together in a microwave.
The flesh mass writhed violently, as if it were about to explode.
"Zayne, take the Eternal Scales and run!"
As the words fell, the flesh mass was completely shredded by the starlight blades. Not a single scrap of flesh remained, as if it had never existed at all.
The Eternal Scales turned into a streak of light and shot toward Zayne at blinding speed.
Zayne raised his hand to grab them, secretly gathering power and preparing a Forbidden Spell.
The moment he obtained the Eternal Scales, he would immediately use Spatial Translocation to escape. With his immortality, he could chain teleport after teleport. No matter how terrifying Astrachior was, there was no way he could keep up in such a short time.
But the instant his fingers touched the Eternal Scales, familiar starlight erupted again.
His outstretched hand was erased on the spot.
Astrachior’s power was overwhelming.
Zayne clenched his teeth and willed his arm to regenerate.
"Forbidden Spell Infernal Overdrive!"
Blood flames ignited across his body. He lifted his staff and hurled a Fireball straight at Astrachior.
The Singularity Ring had been refined to three stars, granting a massive one hundred sixty percent boost to his spirit. Combined with the Raging Flame Staff’s fifty percent fire damage bonus and Infernal Overdrive, this Fireball, elevated to a Forbidden Spell by Absolute Ascension, carried power that could make even a level sixty awakened pale.
A blazing red gold sun crashed toward Astrachior. The heat instantly vaporized the surrounding buildings.
Yet Astrachior did not even change expression.
"Zayne, no matter how powerful a Forbidden Spellcaster with immortality may be, you are still only level twenty five. Stop wasting your effort."
Starlight flared as he raised his hand, and the red gold sun was erased as if it had never existed.
Zayne had no intention of giving up.
If he wanted to survive, he had to force Astrachior onto the defensive. Only then would he have a chance to seize the Eternal Scales and escape.
"Fireball!"
"Flame Impact!"
"Wall of Fire!"
"Illumination!"
"Flame Jet!"
"Rain of Fire!"
One basic fire spell after another was cast without restraint. Under Absolute Ascension, every single one transformed into a Forbidden Spell.
The air ignited instantly. Raging flames tore through the surroundings, turning streets and buildings into a sea of fire.
Each spell fell like divine punishment, firestorms roaring toward Astrachior and reducing everything nearby to ash.
Under this relentless barrage, even a level sixty awakened would turn pale.
Yet within the inferno, Astrachior’s silhouette remained calm and unshaken, as if the heat capable of melting steel meant nothing to him.
"Zayne, do you still not understand? In the face of absolute power, struggle is meaningless."
"Starlight Confinement."
Starlight gathered and formed an eerie cube. It rose slowly from the flames, and the moment the heat touched it, it vanished completely.
The cube flickered and reappeared in front of Zayne, enclosing him.
An immense pressure crashed down on his body. Even moving a finger became painfully difficult.
He fought with everything he had, but the force restraining him felt endless, far beyond what he could resist.
Against an immortal enemy, the best methods were sealing, freezing, or confinement.
Fortunately, Zayne had anticipated this long before entering the Gate of Apocalypse.
"Exploding Star Shield!"
The moment it activated, Absolute Ascension elevated it into Celestial Star Annihilation.
His eyes shone like stars as vast stellar power surged toward him. The air trembled violently.
His body began to swell like an overinflated balloon.
Five seconds.
He had tested it before. From activation to detonation, Celestial Star Annihilation required only five seconds.
If he could self destruct, Astrachior’s confinement would be broken.
But Astrachior’s next move plunged Zayne’s heart into despair.
"Playing with stellar power in front of me. Do you really think so little of an astrologer?"
Astrachior adjusted his glasses.
In the next instant, the stellar energy gathered inside Zayne drained away like a receding tide. His expression changed drastically.
The gap between them was so vast that even detonating himself was nothing more than a fantasy.
Astrachior closed his hand, and the Eternal Scales flew into his grasp. Even with his composure, a trace of burning excitement rose in his eyes.
"One of the seven Origin Relics. The Eternal Scales truly are exquisite."
He praised them softly, then suddenly began coughing violently. Blood spilled from his mouth, staining his chest as his aura visibly weakened.
"Tsk. Zayne, you nearly dragged me down with you. I have divined too much and suffered heavenly backlash. I am already running out of time. Forcing the stellar power only hastened it. But in the end, you still fell just short. Perhaps this really is fate."
He gave a bitter smile, holding the Eternal Scales as he walked up to Zayne and looked down at him calmly.
"When did you start suspecting me?"
"Always."
"What a shame. If you had trusted me completely, this process might have been less painful."
Astrachior shook his head with regret. Holding the Eternal Scales in one hand, he placed the other atop Zayne’s head.
In that instant, the Eternal Scales erupted with blinding light.
