I Can Strengthen Infinitely-Chapter 191 - 154: Buying Alchemy Recipes (Part 2)
Over the years, West Qi Mountain Temple has been trying to seal it, but because the seal is constantly corroded by the Earth Evil Spirit’s Yin Qi, it often doesn’t last long. Now it’s time to go underground to seal it again.
After listening to Daoist Qingfeng explain the details, Qin Yuesheng realized that Huang Ting had merely assigned him an ordinary task from the West Qi Mountain Temple, as though casually picking something for him to do.
"I never believe in free, harmless lunches in the world, and I certainly don’t believe someone would give others benefits for no reason. What is Huang Ting’s actual purpose?" Qin Yuesheng thought inwardly, frowning.
Soon, led by Daoist Qingfeng, the two arrived at the back mountain.
The back mountain of West Qi Mountain Temple is not desolate; there are quite a few buildings. One can reach the underground cavern mentioned by Huang Ting just by walking through a series of corridors.
It’s visible as a large hole, about two zhang (approximately seven meters) in diameter, extremely deep and dark below. Approaching the cavern, one can distinctly feel a chill blowing from its depths.
Instinctively, Qin Yuesheng pulled out the Exorcism Toad and used the Spirit Fox’s keen sight to inspect. As expected, the Liuli plate on the Exorcism Toad’s back immediately showed changes; the hostility value began to rise.
Meanwhile, Qin Yuesheng, using the Spirit Fox’s keen sight, saw a massive surge of dark Qi spilling out from the underground cavern.
What a perilous place!
"Young Master Qin, please wait while I summon the senior brothers tasked to accompany you to the underground cavern this time."
"Hmm, Daoist Qingfeng, please go ahead."
Daoist Qingfeng entered a small two-story redwood building next to the cavern. Soon, a middle-aged and a young Daoist followed Qingfeng out of the building.
Despite the age of the middle-aged Daoist, there was still a handsome air between his brows; his appearance remained handsome, unaffected by the passage of time.
The young Daoist had a baby face with squinting eyes, giving an inexplicable sense of friendliness.
"Young Master Qin, this is my senior brother, Daoist Jiuhua, and this is my junior nephew, Tu Fang. They will accompany you to the underground cavern to seal the earth vein."
Qin Yuesheng looked at these two who seemed to carry nothing with them and couldn’t help but ask, "Don’t we need to bring something for the seal?"
"The sealing altar is located deep within the cavern. Once there, we can begin the sealing; there’s no need to carry any external items."
"Oh." Qin Yuesheng nodded in realization, "Then when do we set off?"
Daoist Jiuhua replied, "Let’s go now. The sealing won’t take too long; the sooner we resolve it, the sooner we can lay this burden down."
"Alright."
Watched by Daoist Qingfeng, Qin Yuesheng and his companions walked into the cavern, disappearing into the darkness.
...
Fwoosh~
The torch instantly lit up. Tu Fang held up the torch at the front, illuminating the surrounding path for the two behind him.
Qin Yuesheng, even without the firelight, could freely walk in the darkness with the aid of the Biluo Eye. For him, the firelight was instead dazzling, making it hard to see clearly what lay a few zhang away.
Daoist Jiuhua walked beside Qin Yuesheng, emotionlessly scanning his surroundings.
"Daoist, is there any difference between the evil entities and the ghostly monsters here?" Qin Yuesheng, idle with nothing to do, asked.
"Evil entities are born from the Earth Evil Spirit, inherently carrying evil Qi. If wounded by them, a person’s body will have difficulty healing and may even begin to deteriorate; this is quite troublesome, though the rest isn’t as bad," explained Daoist Jiuhua.
"I see." Qin Yuesheng nodded, holding the Spirit Fox’s keen sight, he began to remain vigilant like Jiuhua.
Whew~
The weak firelight on the torch suddenly flickered, as a wisp of blue smoke floated upward from the flame, causing everyone’s expression to change slightly.
The cavern has only one entrance; there couldn’t be any wind inside.
Whoosh!!!
A shadow silently approached Qin Yuesheng but was instantly detected by him.
In a split second, Qin Yuesheng instinctively turned and struck with a palm. His Profound Celestial Internal Power had evil-banishing capabilities. Upon clashing with the shadow, a fierce roar echoed, but Qin Yuesheng couldn’t see its appearance before the shadow crumbled before his eyes.
"These are evil entities, but they’re the most common. Their attacks are silent and swift, but they can’t withstand hits; basically, one strike will take them down," Tu Fang explained to Qin Yuesheng.
Seeing these two so nonchalant, apparently well-acquainted with such occurrences, Qin Yuesheng responded, "I see."
Continuing deeper into the cavern, they repeatedly encountered attacks from numerous evil entities, but all were effortlessly repelled by the trio, having no impact whatsoever.
After multiple encounters, Qin Yuesheng at last clearly saw the appearance of these evil entities.
They had rudimentary forms with two arms and a head, but their lower halves were mist-shrouded bodies, moving about floating over two feet above the ground, as if flying.
Venture deeper and soon new evil entities appeared, possessing beastly limbs and capable of team actions, obstructing Qin Yuesheng and his companions from reaching the cavern’s end.
Yet fortunately for Qin Yuesheng, these evil entities posed no threat whatsoever; he didn’t even need to use the Soul-Shattering Roar, relying solely on Profound Celestial Internal Power to easily vanquish all evil entities.
Seeing the increasing numbers of evil entities, Qin Yuesheng recalled the newly acquired Primordial Yang Skill, mobilizing the Primordial Qi in his Dantian to disperse through his body.
Instantly, it felt as though a furnace was ablaze; any evil entity drawing near to Qin Yuesheng needed no action from him, they simply scattered in the air, vanishing without a trace.
When Primordial Yang is vigorous, the body resembles a furnace of blazing yang fire, daring evil entities to approach only to dissolve like snow melting in spring.
Daoist Jiuhua thoughtfully looked at Qin Yuesheng, not quite sure, asking, "Young Master Qin, have you cultivated some Yang-extreme technique?"
Qin Yuesheng replied, "Daoist, you’re quite skilled to have noticed that."
"Your body radiates intense Yang Qi, brimming with yang fire; I seem to faintly perceive it," said Daoist Jiuhua. "With Young Master Qin’s abundant Yang Qi, it’s been easy along the way; the evil entities can’t withstand this Yang force."
Indeed, as Jiuhua mentioned, for the rest of the journey, the evil entities couldn’t even draw near Qin Yuesheng, instantly dissolving into dark Qi within his surrounding area, until soon the trio reached the cavern’s depths.
The place was extremely vast, like hollowed-out mountain belly, with a stone altar standing on an open patch, with various candles of different sizes adorning it, some still burning, while others had long since extinguished.
A faintly visible light shield engulfed the altar, exuding a gentle glow. Tu Fang Daoist led the way inside, stepping atop the altar.
Daoist Jiuhua pulled out his torch, reigniting the remaining candles.
As each candle was relit, the light shield surrounding the altar brightened considerably, becoming more clearly visible.
"Honored Daoists, may I assist in any way?" Qin Yuesheng inquired.
"Young Master Qin, the seal requires some time; please guard the surroundings, ensuring no evil entity breaches this area. It’s the earth vein’s source, where the evil entities are immensely potent, much stronger than those we’ve encountered; their strength can’t be underestimated."
Qin Yuesheng drew the Soul-Swaying Bell from the Celestial Demon pouch, saying, "Alright, I understand. As long as I’m here, I won’t allow a single evil entity to intrude here and disturb your sealing of the earth vein."
