I Can See Your Combat Power-Chapter 987 - 281 Mission
Chapter 987: Chapter 281: Mission
Chapter 987 -281: Mission
“Since the master is unharmed, perhaps you could help this old Daoist with a matter?”
“Please speak, Daoist Priest.”
Feng You, donning a white bone mask, asked, “Does the master still remember the Wuyi Sect that once stirred up troubles across several states?”
“The Wuyi Sect?” Gu Han pondered carefully, puzzled, “You mean that heretical sect that was all about ranking spiritual garments and making grandiose claims? Hasn’t it already been proven to be a sham?”
“Everyone thought it was fake,” Feng You said with a wry smile, “but a year ago, a fourth-ranked Lion Scorpion General suddenly appeared in Siam. In just half a year, he subdued several old Siam families and re-established the sect at Supa Mountain in Siam, appointing fifteen fifth-ranked infantry commanders and passing down the tiger charms from fifth to ninth rank. Now, the Wuyi Sect has become a rising force within Siam, and many old families dare not lightly provoke it!”
“Is this really happening!?” Gu Han exclaimed in shock, “Does that mean the teachings of the Wuyi Sect are actually genuine?”
“It’s too early to say!” Feng You shook his head, “That Lion Scorpion General was only in Siam for half a year before he disappeared without a trace. But from the tactics he displayed, he resembles the original preacher a great deal. It’s just that now many of Blood Tower’s intelligence networks have been interrupted by the Dutian Heavenly King. Had it not been for Young Master Yun’s assistance, we would probably not even know about this incident in Siam!”

“The help that Daoist Priest wants from me, is it related to the Wuyi Sect?”
“Exactly!” Feng You nodded, “Not long ago, Young Master Yun sent news that a fourth-ranked Blood Lion Patriarch has appeared in Beimang and reopened the Wuyi Sect’s mountain gate at Hui Ling Mountain. The Tower Master sent this old Daoist to Beimang to aid the master, and secondly, to ascertain the true power of the Wuyi Sect and this Blood Lion Patriarch.”
“What does the Tower Master intend?”
“If the Wuyi Sect truly possesses remarkable resources, then we’ll foster a cooperation with the Wuyi Sect. If they are merely a shell without substance, we’ll take control of this Blood Lion Patriarch and make the Wuyi Sect a vassal of the Blood Tower, to create blood for the Tower.”
“In that case, very well!”
Ever since the Dutian Heavenly King declared the purge of the Ancient Blood Tower, all peripheral forces of Blood Tower were suppressed and eradicated, and even the headquarters had to hide in an unknown place to breathe. Although the core members of the Blood Tower dispersed into the world, a power without new blood infusion is not far from destruction.
The blood-making capability of the Wuyi Sect was exactly what the Ancient Blood Tower lacked at the moment. Should they form a strong alliance, perhaps in a few decades, the Blood Tower could walk openly in the world!
Without further hesitation, the Corpse Monk and Bone Taoist agreed immediately and set off directly from Longzhou’s Lotus Pass towards the depths of Min Mountain and Hui Ling Mountain!
After a few days, the two formidable members of the Blood Tower crossed the plains of Longzhou and arrived at the borders of Beimang. Just one day into Beimang, the Corpse Monk Gu Han suddenly froze, muttering to himself, “Strange… How could the Corpse Refiner be here?”
“Master, what’s the matter?”
“The Daoist Priest does not know, but ten days ago, at Lotus Pass, Wind Media’s number fifty-eight somehow ran into Longxi’s Pride and encountered a mishap. When I arrived, a young man had tidied up the remains for number fifty-eight and broke out with Mortal Realm cultivation. He had compassion and loyalty. Upon inquiring, I learned that this young man has only been cultivating for six years…”
After Gu Han shared with Feng You the details of his meeting with Yan Luo Yu at Lotus Pass, he voiced his confusion, “Judging by the time, under the escort of the Corpse Refiner, the young man should have already reached the mines by now. However, I just sensed the aura of the Corpse Refiner in the mountains! Daoist Priest, please wait here for a moment, while I go and check the situation.”
“Why don’t we go together,” said the Daoist Priest, “I, too, would like to see what kind of young talent catches the Master’s eye!”
Gu Han didn’t dawdle; he nodded and descended towards Snake Fang Mountain, with Bone Taoist and Feng You closely following behind.
It was high noon, the time when the miasma in Beimang was thickest, the sickly green poisonous clouds swirling all around. Yet Gu Han and Feng You were completely unaffected by the poison fog, as they soundlessly landed on the mountain’s peak.
Gazing down from the summit, they spotted the hidden Wuyi Sect camp within Snake Fang Mountain. On the parade ground, a few warrior leaders appeared to be conducting a roll call.
And there, among one of the groups, was the young man Gu Han was searching for—Yan Luo Yu. His eyes were shifty, constantly glancing towards the entrance of Snake Fang Mountain, as if he had some scheme in mind.
“It seems that the young talent the Master picked out for Blood Tower has been abducted by the Wuyi Sect,” Feng You said with a chuckle. “What puzzles me, though, is why followers of the Wuyi Sect are here, when Min Mountain is several hundred miles away.”
“Why not just grab a leader and ask?” Gu Han said coldly.
As the Corpse Monk made to leap down the mountain, Feng You stopped him: “Good things come to those who wait!”
“To find out the truth about the Wuyi Sect, we don’t even know where their sect gate is. But now we have Yan Luo Yu; with him, we can easily infiltrate Hui Ling Mountain from the inside. He can gather information for us—wouldn’t that be more convenient than going down ourselves?”
“Not proper,” Gu Han shook his head. “Yan Luo Yu’s cultivation is too weak, and he hasn’t been trained by Wind Media. His loyalty to Blood Tower isn’t strong enough either. Asking him to do such a thing is asking too much of him.”
“Then it will depend on his own destiny!” Feng You said indifferently. “True talent means achieving what others cannot. If he manages to accomplish this task, it will be his accomplishment to join our Blood Tower. The Tower Master will surely take notice of him. If he fails, then he merely has some minor aptitude. Whether he’s a dragon or a tiger, his fate is his own. We can give him both choices, and see which one he picks. If he’s afraid to take risks, the Master can make a move later. How about that?”
“What the Daoist Priest says makes sense. Let’s see what fate has in store for him!”
That night, Gu Han used corpse refining techniques to send a message to the young man, instructing him to meet at the cliff on Snake Fang Mountain at midnight.
Yan Luo Yu, who had been planning to escape, was startled initially, and then felt a secret joy in his heart.
With Wolf Tooth Mountain being treacherously steep and its soils incredibly hard, there were places not even sixth rank white zombies could move through underground. There were guards along any path over the cliffs, and he had been worried about this very issue. But upon receiving Gu Han’s message, it was as if he had seen a savior.
Upon meeting, Yan Luo Yu complained to Gu Han: “Master, you’ve finally come. I was kidnapped by the leader of the Wuyi Sect, truly against my will!”
“I’m aware of your situation,” Gu Han nodded. “I called you here today because there’s something I want to discuss with you!” He stepped aside to reveal a Taoist Priest wearing a white bone mask behind him, and addressed Yan Luo Yu, “This is Feng You, the Protector of Blood Tower.”
Yan Luo Yu was initially startled by the white bone mask, but then, suppressing the fear in his heart, he bowed earnestly and said, “I pay my respects to Daoist Priest Feng You!”
“Rise,” said Feng You indifferently. “We’ve come to find you to ask, after having witnessed the miracles of the Wuyi Sect, is your heart still as determined to join the Blood Tower?”
