I Can Recognize Everything, But the Information is Wrong-Chapter 14 - : Is Chang’e in the Guanghan Palace?
Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Is Chang'e in the Guanghan Palace?
The next morning, the door of the wooden house was knocked on.
Every other Mine Slave rolled out of bed and ran outside; however, Tian Lin and Big Zhang didn't move.
After everyone had left, the Supervisor looked at Big Zhang and said: "Manager Xu has something for you, he wants you to come now."
Big Zhang picked up the clothes from the kang, limping off the bed.
After Big Zhang left the room, the Supervisor threw a bundle of clothes at Tian Lin's chest with an icy tone:
"These are your clothes. From now on, you are one of the Supervisors too and can move to our wooden hut. Besides taking turns to supervise every three days, you can rest on regular days if there's nothing else."
Having said that, he no longer paid any attention to Tian Lin and left, slamming the door behind him.
Tian Lin waited until he was gone before taking out the black clothes from the bundle.
The black clothes were the same as those of the other Supervisors, just a slightly larger style.
Tian Lin set them aside without hurry to change into them; his body still smelled badly, and his wounds would start bleeding with a little movement.
The Supervisor had only given Tian Lin one set of clothes, and knowing Manager Xu's stinginess, it seemed unlikely that he had been given another set for changing.
Tian Lin didn't want to soil the clothes; moreover, he needed two more days to heal his wounds, so he wasn't in a rush to wear them.
"Supervisor Tian, I have brought you a bowl of porridge."
The door opened, and the person who had brought the Soul Burying Flower to Tian Lin entered.

Tian Lin took the porridge offered to him and expressed his thanks.
Seeing Tian Lin say no more, the man turned to leave.
But halfway out, he turned back, knelt down with a plop in front of Tian Lin, and raised Mr. Ye's knife high.
"Supervisor Tian, this knife isn't suitable for me. I think it's more appropriate to leave it in Supervisor Tian's hands."
Tian Lin put down his bowl and said, "That knife was a gift for helping me with the Soul Burying Flower. Since I gave it to you, there's no possibility of taking it back. If I gave it to you only to ask for it back, what does that make me?"
The man's face lit up with happiness, and he got up and bowed deeply to Tian Lin, saying, "Thank you for the reward, Supervisor Tian. I have work to do outside, so I won't disturb your rest."
Once he left, Tian Lin put the bowl aside on the kang.
He didn't touch the porridge at all; he felt very insecure, suspecting that the porridge might have been poisoned.
After all, with Mr. You having been at the mine for so many years, how could he not have a few friends?
Additionally, gaining his position by overstepping boundaries, how could he not arouse the dislike of the senior Supervisors?
Looking at the Supervisor who delivered his clothes today and his attitude towards him, Tian Lin didn't need to think to know his situation wasn't great.
Thus, until his injuries were fully healed in the next two days, he wouldn't be staying in the Supervisor's quarters.
During the day, Tian Lin made several bowls of rice to eat and began meditating with the Soul Burying Flowers.
Not needing to work in the mines, he consumed four Soul Burying Flowers and cultivated from before dawn until dusk.
The wooden hut was pushed open from the outside, and in came Big Zhang, who had completely changed his appearance and dress.
Not only had he shaved clean, but he also donned a purple coat.
The purple coat looked particularly conspicuous, out of place with the entire mining camp.
Big Zhang twirled around proudly, then patted the purple official boots on his feet and asked, "How about this? Don't I look like the County Lord in these clothes?"
Tian Lin, seeing his good mood, asked him, "What did Manager Xu have you do to be willing to buy you these clothes?"
Big Zhang pulled out a dagger and used the blade as a mirror to fix his hair.
He replied, "Only two people in the entire mine wear clothes like these: one is Leopard, and the other is now me."
Tian Lin had also heard of Brother Leopard's reputation, though he had never met the man.
According to Big Zhang, "This Brother Leopard is also a top-notch expert. He has a brother whom Manager Xu named Bench."
Tian Lin frowned, "Leopard is understandable, but why 'Bench'?"
Big Zhang laughed heartily and explained, "Manager Xu has four major subordinates – Leopard, Bench, Tongsha, and Six, as you may have figured out, Manager Xu loves gambling."
Tian Lin didn't respond, listening to Big Zhang say,
"These four generals don't usually stay in the mine; they are responsible for carrying out assassinations for Manager Xu. Killing for money outside is much easier than working for Manager Xu in the mines."
Tian Lin opened his mouth but said nothing.
It seemed from Big Zhang's implication that he was now expected to become an assassin for Manager Xu.
Sure enough, Big Zhang tucked the dagger back into his pocket, walked up to Tian Lin, patted his shoulder and said,
"I'm leaving in two days. You'll be here alone in the mine; you need to be cautious. Those Supervisors are no trivial matter, and Manager Xu doesn't care much about their lives and deaths, after all, replacements for Supervisors can always be found among the Mine Slaves — since Manager Xu doesn't care about them, he won't care about you either."
Tian Lin remained silent as he watched Big Zhang go over to the kang and pick up the bowl, immediately saying, "That bowl was brought over by the Mine Slave who did your errands, I have no idea if it's poisoned."
"That must be poison-free. That guy doesn't have the guts to poison you."
Though he said so, Big Zhang himself didn't eat the porridge either.
When the Mine Slaves returned, that bowl of porridge was given to another Mine Slave next to them.
The Mine Slave drank it gratefully without showing signs of poisoning.
That evening, Big Zhang dragged Tian Lin to the stream for a bath.
Several Mine Slaves massaged and beat Big Zhang's back, while he applied medicine to Tian Lin.
When the Supervisor came to chase the miners back to the hut, the two were still resting by the creek.
Big Zhang lay on his back on a rock, looking up at the moon, saying,
"Ever since I was a child, my father told me that after becoming an Immortal, a Cultivator could fly to the heavens, where many Immortals represent different constellations. There's Guanghan Palace on the moon, where a beautiful Chang'e lives, and that beautiful Chang'e raises a cute little rabbit. Tell me, do we have a chance to go to the heavens to see for ourselves?"
Tian Lin replied, "What if you go up there only to find that the moon is just a sphere with neither Guanghan Palace nor inhabitants?"
Big Zhang laughed heartily and replied, "How is that possible? The moon is so beautiful, how could there be no Guanghan Palace? I'm determined to become an Immortal, to go to Guanghan Palace and meet the celestial Chang'e."
He got up, dusting off his butt and walked towards the barracks.
Tian Lin also felt somewhat lost, looking at the full moon above and feeling it was no different from the one in his previous life.
But in this world, where Immortals exist, how could the moon be the same as the one from his past world?
Tian Lin also stood up and patted his butt, saying to the ahead Big Zhang, "Someday, if I get the chance, I too want to see the moon above, whether there really is a Chang'e, and whether it's just as we imagine."
