I Can Claim Daily Rewards-Chapter 167 80th Day
Even with the combined efforts of the government, military, and the police, they still failed to discover the whereabouts of the president. In the end, they could only watch as he slowly suffocated from the lack of oxygen. His final moments were deeply engraved in everyone's minds.
Some people were afraid, but most of the citizens in Maharlika believed that the president deserved such an outcome.
The vice president of the country temporarily served as the leader after the death of the president. The vice president was also an ally of the president, but after the recent incident, she no longer dared to behave atrociously. She became more transparent with the country's money and she also prohibited confidential funds among the government officials. This move alleviated the pressure on her, but she still felt on edge because of the presence of the mysterious group that caused the president's demise.
The Maracas Family's allies were hesitant to work with them. They didn't want to be involved with the Maracas Family. All of them were afraid of the mysterious organization especially after they saw the outcome of the incident about the president.
More than a week later, the Maracas Family and their allies convened in a secret hall. The person in the head seat was the acting president of the country, Vice President Shara Butete. She had a gloomy expression on her face as she scanned the people inside the room.
Seated beside her was the president's eldest son, Alexander Maracas. He was quite good-looking, but the deep bags under his eyes made him look less attractive. He also had this air of arrogance that was common to second-generation heirs.
"Everyone, we should stick together! If we disband now, the enemies lurking behind the scenes will brandish their fangs against us." Alexander Maracas voiced his opinion with a righteous look on his face. His father's death didn't affect him much. In fact, it made him ecstatic. Although his death caused major repercussions for the Maracas Family, this was also an opportunity for Alexander. He had to make use of their foundations to somehow turn the tables in their favor. The enemy might be strong, but he believed in the Maracas Family's power. 'I still have the family's accumulated wealth and father's slush funds are also in my hands.' He thought to himself.
Shara Butete was displeased by Alexander's actions. 'This guy is still acting high and mighty even after his father's death. Let's see if you can still prance around if the Maracas Family is attacked by that mysterious organization.'
The people inside the secret hall whispered among themselves. Most of them didn't want to be involved with the Maracas Family anymore, but they couldn't break away from them immediately because they were still a behemoth despite the recent incident.
"Sir Alexander, I think we should lay low for now. We should investigate the mysterious organization first before we make a decision." Someone suggested. 𝐛𝗲𝐝𝐧𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝗼𝐫𝗴
Alexander frowned upon hearing this. He noticed that the others shared the same sentiments so he didn't lash out at them. 'These f*cking people! After accepting all the money from our family, they still refuse to listen to me! A bunch of ingrates!' He cursed furiously in his heart.
Shara Butete smirked coldly when she saw Alexander's expression. 'Look at that ugly mug!' She laughed in her heart.
"Sir Alexander, I think we should listen to everyone's opinion. We still have no information about the mysterious organization. It would be unwise to go against them without necessary preparations. At this moment, we should focus on minimizing the damage caused by the recent incident." Shara Butete said.
Alexander's expression darkened upon hearing this, but he couldn't dismiss her words. Vice President Shara Butete was more influential than him in their group so he could only swallow his rage in silence. "I understand." He muttered coldly.

It was already the 80th day since Arlan got the mysterious app. According to the app, he would learn more information after he claimed his 100th daily reward. There were only 20 days left until then, but he felt no excitement. This was because the zombie virus would also spread by that time. Although he had already made some preparations, he felt that it still wasn't enough.
"Boss, what are you daydreaming about?" A voice woke him up from his stupor.
Arlan turned around and saw Krizia walking towards him. She had a light smile on her face. "It's nothing. I'm just thinking about the future." He answered while shaking his head.
Krizia sat beside him. She grabbed the wine glass from his hand and drank from it before she asked. "Are you worried about the zombie virus?"
Arlan leaned on his chair and replied. "Dealing with the Maracas Family and Leandro Manzano is easier. I don't know what will happen to us when the zombie virus spreads."
Krizia smiled gently at him as she put the wine glass on the table.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Arlan was surprised by her gentle expression.
Krizia chuckled as she said. "I'm just happy that you're no longer guarded against me."
"Is that so?" Arlan smiled at her words. Krizia had already proven herself. Her recent mission to acquire a loan from the international bank was a major success. She managed to secure 150 billion dollars which was 50% more than what he told her.
Arlan didn't know how she loaned that much money from the international banks and he didn't bother to ask her the details.
During the last few days, he invested all the money into making food processing facilities, water storage facilities, solar energy power plans, and many other things that would be of great use during the apocalypse.
"You don't need to feel pressured, boss. It's not your job to save the whole world." Krizia said before taking another sip of the wine.
Arlan was taken aback by her words. She was right. The mysterious app didn't ask him to save the world or stop the zombie virus. He just forced this thought into his mind because he felt that he should do something with the information he had. 'I hope it was that simple...'
