I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 710 - 491: Opening Performance_2
With that one sentence, all the Online Friends who had seen Xia Liang’s magic could no longer sit still. Their attitude did a complete 180, going from protesting that she shouldn’t go to urging her to hurry up.
After the two met up and Xia Liang stood up, many people still stared at him in disbelief. They carefully inspected the spot where he had just been "sitting," hoping to find some kind of trick. Of course, they were left utterly baffled.
"Having a blast, aren’t you? You just had to show off again. Have you been waiting long?"
"Not too long. I was only being gawked at for about ten minutes." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
The two walked hand-in-hand into the restaurant. A waiter greeted them and led them to their reserved table, a corner spot by the window with a wall not far behind Xia Liang.
Once they were seated, the audience’s comments about the restaurant were temporarily ignored. After Su Yi finished ordering, Xia Liang spoke.
"Wait here for a moment. To show my sincerity, I’ve decided to personally serve all your dishes."
Su Yi nodded, but the Online Friends were perplexed.
"[Aren’t they here to eat? Since when does the customer serve their own food? What’s he planning?]"
"[Don’t tell me the show is about to start?]"
"[I think so too. Everyone, pay close attention.]"
By now, Xia Liang’s live stream had nearly ten million viewers, and Su Yi’s stream had an immense audience as well.
Many Online Friends were asking what he was up to. Su Yi spread her hands helplessly and said, "Honestly, I have no idea either. He just said he was treating me to dinner. Nobody knows what he’s going to do, but I’m sure it will be extraordinary. In any case, I’m really looking forward to it."
She interacted with her viewers for a moment. Before long, Xia Liang emerged dressed as a waiter, his posture for carrying the serving tray impeccably professional. He bent down and placed the tray before Su Yi, but when he lifted the cover, there was nothing underneath.
Su Yi immediately pouted. "You were sitting on an air chair outside. Are you inviting me to eat an air steak now?"
"Actually, the steak is already on the plate. I can even smell its aroma," he said. "The reason no one can see it yet is that it’s enchanted with invisible Magic Power. I’ll make it appear right now. Watch closely, and don’t blink."
With that, everyone knew the performance was about to begin. They all widened their eyes in anticipation.
He took out a lighter, lit a piece of paper, and placed it on the plate. As the fire blazed up, he quickly covered it with the lid. When he lifted it again, a sirloin steak, garnished with lettuce, had appeared before everyone’s eyes. He then announced professionally, "Ma’am, your sirloin steak."
Before the viewers could even express their amazement, the other customers in the restaurant were also captivated. Xia Liang had already taken out an iPad and continued, "Ah, Su Yi, you forgot dessert. Wouldn’t you like something sweet?"
Ordering from an iPad was nothing new; even street food stalls used them for convenience. But everyone knew Xia Liang’s intentions were far from simple.
Just as expected, he placed the iPad in front of Su Yi, with a dessert plate set beneath it. Swiping through the menu, he asked, "Would you like a Creme Caramel Pudding?"
"Yes, I love pudding." Su Yi’s gaze burned with renewed intensity. It was far from the first time she had watched him perform magic, but every time was the same; she couldn’t contain the thrill that welled up in her heart.
Xia Liang said, "Actually, this isn’t just an ordinary iPad for ordering. It’s also a spatial teleporter connected directly to our kitchen, which allows me to pull desserts right out of the screen."
"How is that possible?" Su Yi blurted out, her words echoing the thoughts of every single person watching.
"Then please, watch closely. Here is the pudding you wanted."
Xia Liang’s finger swiped across the screen again. The image of the pudding slid, and then the actual dessert materialized out of the tablet, landing beautifully on the plate.
A collective gasp swept through the restaurant, and one could only imagine the viewers at home were reacting the same way. Unconsciously, many diners had already left their seats and gathered around Xia Liang and Su Yi’s table, while others craned their necks for a better view.
"[Awesome! That’s Summer God Hao for you!]"
"[A new tip for picking up girls every day, but I can never learn them.]"
"[I have my own techniques for serving food.]"
The Online Friends were left completely astonished. Their minds couldn’t keep up as they watched Xia Liang magically produce all the dishes, and they were still too stunned to react. However, the performance was a gradual crescendo. This was only the beginning.
"In a restaurant so full of romance, where the very air tastes of it, how could I dine with someone as beautiful as you, Su Yi, without flowers?"
At that moment, he seemed like a god. He said there would be flowers, and flowers appeared. With a flick of his slender hands—so elegant they would make any girl jealous—a rose materialized from thin air. After placing it in the vase on the table, he continued, "And if we have flowers, we must have candles. A candlelight dinner is the most romantic, after all."
He draped a white cloth over the empty center of the table. After shaking it a few times, he whipped it away to reveal a candelabra holding three candles, which had appeared out of nowhere.
"It’s called a candlelight dinner, but what good is it without candlelight?"
With a suave snap of his fingers, the candles ignited on their own. He nodded, satisfied. "Now that’s more like it."
Su Yi was completely flabbergasted throughout the entire process, as were all the Online Friends. Once they recovered, a new wave of comments flooded the screen.
"[Su Yi’s expression is priceless! I’m pausing the stream to make it a meme.]"
"[Seeing Su Yi’s face is like looking in a mirror. Now I know exactly what I look like.]"
"[That’s the classic confused meme face right there. Su Yi is still so cute even when she’s completely baffled.]"
"[Learn it? Why bother? Just keep watching, everyone’s about to have the same expression. If you don’t believe me, look at the other diners!]"
Many people were beginning to question their reality as their worldviews crumbled. Su Yi finally came to her senses, rubbing her forehead. "Your string of tricks has left me completely dazzled. Wait, just let me catch my breath."
"[We need to catch our breath too! That move was slick! No, not just slick—it was legendary!]"
"[Holy shit! Incredible!]"
The Online Friends agreed. Xia Liang just laughed and said, "No need to rush. You can eat now and calm down slowly."
As he said this, he started to sit down but then glanced at his clothes. "Uh, about this... I’m still in a waiter’s uniform. It doesn’t feel right to eat like this. I should probably change first."
The surrounding diners, who had thought the show was over and were about to return to their seats, froze when they heard this.
They watched as he produced two life-sized paintings. The one in his left hand depicted a casual outfit: jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers. The one in his right showed a formal suit with a gold-trimmed collar and leather shoes.
"I have two outfits here, Su Yi. Which one do you think I should wear?" Xia Liang continued, "Personally, I prefer a casual look. It’s simple but comfortable."
"Then let’s go with the casual one," Su Yi said, playing along even though she had no idea what he was planning.
"The casual one?" Xia Liang seemed to hesitate. With his back to the wall, he stood facing the live stream cameras and a dozen onlookers. He held the painting of the casual outfit in front of himself as if to measure it.
Under everyone’s curious gaze, he gave the painting a little shake. When he pulled it away, he was wearing the exact outfit from the painting. Every spectator looked as though they had just seen a ghost.
"[You promised to let us catch our breath, Anchor! You liar!]"
"[Damn it, I was just about to calm down, and you had to pull another one on us, Anchor!]"
"[I can’t believe I fell for it.]"
"Casual wear is comfortable," Xia Liang mused, "but since you’re dressed so beautifully and formally, Su Yi, and with this ambiance... maybe this isn’t quite right. Perhaps I should change into the suit after all."
