I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 631 - 451 Regret
Watching the lead actor stand respectfully before Director Wu, Wu Chao couldn’t help but chuckle.
"The acting is so bad, I might as well do it myself," he muttered to himself, cracking open a melon seed as he watched the drama unfold from a distance.
But the sharp roar of an engine interrupted his thoughts. A sports car sped onto the set, stopping in front of Wu Chao, and a young man climbed out.
Since Wu Chao hadn’t been on set for the past two days, he didn’t recognize the man getting out of the car as Xia Liang.
Looking at Xia Liang’s attire and the sports car, Wu Chao subconsciously assumed, This person must be some rich second-generation kid from Xiangjiang.
After all, he’d seen plenty of young people drive sports cars onto the set. Almost without exception, they were rich kids who had learned of the filming location through connections and came just to hang out. He immediately categorized Xia Liang among them.
Most of the rich kids were fine. They’d take a look around, maybe ask a few celebrities or the director for an autograph, and then leave. What he feared were the clueless ones who came specifically to cause trouble. Judging by the unrestrained roar of the engine, Wu Chao lumped Xia Liang into the latter category.
Seeing Xia Liang get out of the car, he sneered, "Don’t you know this is a film set? No noise is allowed other than what’s needed for the shoot."
Wu Chao himself was Director Wu’s nephew and came from an extraordinary family background. In other words, he was also a rich kid from Xiangjiang, so he had no qualms about speaking his mind so bluntly.
Hearing Wu Chao’s words, Xia Liang apologized with a light smile. "Sorry, I wasn’t aware. It won’t happen again."
With that, Xia Liang started walking toward the film set. He had heard from Wu Tong that a climactic scene involving wirework was being filmed today, and he was quite interested in watching.
"Good that you understand," Wu Chao snorted, his voice ringing out from behind Xia Liang.
Xia Liang paused at the sound of his voice and slowly turned to face Wu Chao.
"So, does the set have any rules against eating casually?"
Wu Chao froze. He glanced down at the melon seeds in his hand, a look of bewilderment on his face as he suddenly felt awkward.
Although the set didn’t prohibit casual eating, it did explicitly forbid eating melon seeds and littering. It seemed he had violated both rules.
He had been eating them in his trailer, but his curiosity got the better of him when he saw Director Wu scolding someone, so he’d wandered over to the entrance of the set. From this distance, Director Wu’s group couldn’t possibly see what he was eating. Plus, being the director’s nephew made him feel bold. He just never expected this visiting rich kid to turn the tables on him.
I can’t let him get the upper hand!
Wu Chao said coldly, making it clear he wanted Xia Liang to leave, "Mind your own business. It’s not your place to meddle in our set’s affairs. I don’t know how you found out about our location, but I suggest you leave now. If Director Wu comes over, it won’t be so easy for you to get away."
He deliberately dropped Director Wu’s name. Director Wu’s connections and background were prominent throughout Xiangjiang. There were very few rich kids in Xiangjiang who would dare to anger the director, and Wu Chao knew all of them personally. Therefore, he subconsciously assumed that as soon as Xia Liang heard Director Wu’s name, he would leave immediately.
However, upon hearing Wu Chao’s threat, Xia Liang just couldn’t help but laugh. He knew exactly what was going through the other man’s mind.
Wu Chao was startled to see Xia Liang suddenly laugh without showing any intention of leaving.
Just as he was about to tell him to leave again, Wu Chao saw Director Wu notice them and quickly approach. Wu Chao quickly hid the melon seeds in his pocket.
Meanwhile, Director Wu had gotten close. Wu Chao immediately hurried over to him, already speaking as he walked.
"Uncle, some troublemaker showed up. I already told him off, but he refuses to leave. He even said he’s not afraid of you."
He couldn’t resist embellishing the story. As he spoke, Wu Chao glanced back at Xia Liang with a scornful look, even raising an eyebrow provocatively, as if to say, "Now that Director Wu is here, you’re in for it, kid."
But the next second, just as he turned back around, he saw Director Wu’s foot swinging right at him.
The kick landed squarely on Wu Chao’s chest, sending him flying and crashing to the side.
Director Wu wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and rushed to Xia Liang’s side. He shot a cold glare at Wu Chao, who lay on the ground, completely dazed.
I haven’t even been forgiven for my own mistake, and now this little brat is causing more trouble!
After staring hard at Wu Chao, Director Wu turned to Xia Liang with utmost respect.
"Master Xia Liang, you’ve finally arrived! I’ve been trying to find you for the past two days to apologize, but I couldn’t reach you. Please, let’s talk over there where it’s not so hot."
