I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 567 - 418: Here Comes_2
"What do you want?" Swallowing hard, Shen Tianbing’s expression turned extremely ugly.
Xia Liang glanced at Shen Tianbing’s ruined suit and asked nonchalantly, "About your clothes... do you still need me to pay for them?"
"No, no, not at all!" Shen Tianbing said, waving his hands dismissively. He then turned to the stunned server nearby. "You can leave." How could he possibly dare to ask for compensation now? The server scurried away.
"Now, there’s one more thing..." Xia Liang continued.
Shen Tianbing’s face went white. He knew what Xia Liang meant. He was about to start negotiating when he realized Xia Liang had already begun counting down from three.
Before Xia Liang could even finish the first number, Shen Tianbing dropped to his knees and kowtowed several times. He knew that his dignity was nothing compared to his life.
While he was on the floor, Xia Liang took the opportunity to pull out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it.
Shen Tianbing scrambled back to his feet, glancing at the growing crowd. "Brother, we can talk about this. As long as you don’t leak this address, I guarantee you’ll be well compensated. But this isn’t the right place to negotiate."
He continued, "We have a teahouse in the No.5 Suburban District, on Jinshui Road. Brother, would you be interested in stopping by? I assure you we can offer a very satisfactory price."
In his mind, there was only one reason Xia Liang knew the two locations but hadn’t called the police: he wanted to use them as leverage to extort money. It was all about the money. Otherwise, Xia Liang would have reported him long ago instead of showing him the addresses. To his relief, Xia Liang seemed to play along with his assumption and nodded.
"I’ll go to that location to find you this afternoon." With that, Xia Liang patted Shen Tianbing’s shoulder and turned to leave. Watching Xia Liang’s retreating back, the corners of Shen Tianbing’s mouth curled into a smirk. No one who dares to threaten us has been born yet.
「In the afternoon.」
On Jinshui Road in Jinling’s No. 5 Suburban District, Xia Liang slowly took a Life-Saving Talisman from his pocket. After once again confirming Shen Tianbing’s fate and knowing what was about to happen, Xia Liang calmly ignited the talisman.
Only then did he slowly get out of the car. The place was extremely remote. The road was a muddy track, and in the distance, a small teahouse stood out, completely out of place with its surroundings. The Shen family had recently purchased it specifically to conduct business with their buyers in Jinling.
As Xia Liang walked toward the teahouse, he scanned his surroundings. Apart from his own vehicle, every car belonged to the Shen family. From within those cars, countless malicious eyes stared at him, but he paid them no mind, continuing his steady approach.
The teahouse was a two-story building. Before he even reached it, his phone lost its signal. Looks like Shen Tianbing even placed a signal jammer here. Chuckling to himself, Xia Liang arrived at the entrance.
"You’re here. Come on up," Shen Tianbing called out, sneering as he leaned out from the second-floor window. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Xia Liang calmly entered the teahouse and made his way to the second floor. Along the way, he passed numerous thugs from the Shen family. He knew without a doubt that all of them were armed with guns. Shen Tianbing clearly has no intention of letting me leave alive. Too bad for him, he ran into me.
Smiling, Xia Liang pushed open the door to the second floor. The space was expansive, a single large Grand Hall with very few partitions.
Shen Tianbing was seated in the very center, a cup of tea already poured for Xia Liang on the table before him.
"Kid, I didn’t expect you to actually have the guts to come," Shen Tianbing said. "And you didn’t call the cops all this time. Weren’t you afraid we’d move the merchandise?"
After leaving the hotel that morning, Shen Tianbing had immediately called his father. They moved the goods from the two warehouses right away, leaving no trace. Their mole in the Public Security Bureau confirmed that no report had been filed and no search orders had been issued for those warehouses. Only then did Shen Tianbing and his father breathe a sigh of relief. After securing the goods, they had come to wait for Xia Liang, half-expecting he wouldn’t show up. They were surprised he had actually come to walk into his own grave.
Hearing Shen Tianbing’s words, Xia Liang just chuckled softly. He then pointed a finger at Shen Tianbing’s jacket pocket.
Shen Tianbing froze for a second, confused, but reached into his pocket anyway. His fingers brushed against a slip of paper. Seeing the faint smile on Xia Liang’s face, Shen Tianbing slowly unfolded it.
Instantly, his face turned deathly pale, and his body began to tremble.
On the note were two locations: "Tianshui Chemical’s abandoned landfill, No. 9 Suburban District, Jinling Fifth Ring."
"This note... did you put it in my pocket this morning?" he asked, his voice trembling. He couldn’t quite believe it. He had only met Xia Liang that morning, which was the only opportunity for the note to be planted. To his horror, Xia Liang simply nodded.
"Impossible!" Shen Tianbing roared. "We only moved the goods this afternoon to a randomly selected location! You couldn’t possibly know! Who the hell are you?"
Taking several deep breaths to calm himself, Shen Tianbing thought it through and concluded it was impossible. When Xia Liang wrote that note, they hadn’t even started moving the goods, let alone decided on the new location. Xia Liang just smiled faintly and spoke slowly.
"I’m just a fortune-teller. I divined all of this. Would you believe me?"
Had it been a member of Jinling’s elite who had just witnessed what he had, they would have almost certainly realized they were in the presence of the one and only Xia Liang. But Shen Tianbing and his men were ignorant of such matters, having only recently arrived in Jinling. They hadn’t even heard of the Daoist Association, let alone Xia Liang, who had only made a name for himself in the last couple of days.
"You’re messing with me!" After calming down again, Shen Tianbing frowned and muttered to himself, "The truth must be that you have a mole among us. He participated in moving the goods and slipped the note into my pocket when I wasn’t looking. Why are you putting on this whole mystic act?"
Shen Tianbing was convinced he had figured it out. It was, after all, the most logical explanation.
Meanwhile, in a van a hundred meters from the teahouse, Shen Tianbing’s father, Shen Jingfeng, heard his son’s words through a listening device. His expression turned cold as he glared at the three other men in the van with him.
Shen Tianbing was now almost certain the man before him was a fraud. The note must have been planted by someone else. For this transfer, to ensure secrecy, only he, his father, and their three most trusted men were involved. Now, it was clear one of those three was a traitor.
"Kid, do you really think you can threaten us?" Shen Tianbing said coldly, picking up his teacup and taking a slow sip.
Just then, three gunshots rang out from outside the teahouse. Since they didn’t know which of the three was the traitor, they had killed them all.
"You’re a ruthless bunch, killing your own men," Xia Liang said with a laugh, finding the situation absurd. He had only wanted to put on a little show, but he hadn’t expected the Shen father and son to be so decisive as to kill their own suspects on the spot. But it doesn’t matter. It was bound to happen sooner or later anyway.
"Cut the crap," Shen Tianbing snapped. "Who else knows the location? Do you have other accomplices?"
"It’s only ever been me," Xia Liang said with a shrug, then drained the tea in his cup. "Not bad tea." He calmly poured himself another cup.
"Good. Drink up, then. It might be the last thing you ever drink." With a cold sneer, Shen Tianbing turned and walked downstairs, leaving the teahouse. As he exited, he waved a hand at his men.
Downstairs, Shen Tianbing’s subordinates slowly started up to the second floor. One of them pulled out a gun and pointed it directly at Xia Liang’s head.
After leaving the teahouse, Shen Tianbing rejoined his father. Outside the van, men were already disposing of the three bodies.
"He says no one else knows the location. What do we do with the shipment?" Shen Tianbing asked.
"Forget the shipment. We can’t go back," Shen Jingfeng said decisively. "In case the kid already called the police, men from the Public Security Bureau are probably already watching those two locations. Once we’re done with him here, we can’t stay. We’re leaving Jinling."
