I Become The Richest Man With A monthly Salary of Twenty Thousand Yuan-Chapter 502 - 421
"Master Xia Tian, what do you mean by that?" Xue Ren exclaimed. Xia Liang’s performance had far exceeded his comprehension, so his sudden declaration left Xue Ren completely startled.
Xia Liang didn’t speak. He simply walked to the door and gazed toward Shuanglong Mountain, remaining silent for a long while. After much thought, he finally sighed softly. "It’s a long story," he said. "Boss Xue, all you need to know is that the museum cannot be built for now. I will let you know when the time is right."
Lin Quanzi raced all the way into the Taoist Temple. When he reached the door of Chen Xuandu’s secret chamber, he found his senior, Qing Yangzi, already standing guard. Lin Quanzi grew anxious. "Eldest Brother, open the door! I must see Master!"
Qing Yangzi was puzzled. "Fourth Brother, what happened?"
Lin Quanzi didn’t bother explaining. "There’s no time to explain! Let me in to see Master, quickly!"
Qing Yangzi shook his head. "No. You know Master’s temper. No one is allowed in at this time."
Lin Quanzi was frantic, unsure of what to do. Just then, a voice came from inside the secret chamber.
"Let Fourth Brother come in!"
It was Chen Xuandu. Qing Yangzi was slightly stunned, but he moved aside to let Lin Quanzi pass.
"Weren’t you going to deal with that Xia Liang? Why have you returned so soon?" Chen Xuandu asked, his back still to Lin Quanzi.
Lin Quanzi bowed deeply. "Master, the situation has changed! That Xia Liang... he can actually divine matters concerning members of our Taoist sect! This disciple... I didn’t dare to stay any longer!"
"Is that so?" Chen Xuandu turned around, his ancient eyes filled with shock. After a moment, he shook his head. "That makes no sense. Could this Xia Liang be the legendary Prodigy of Nine Lifetimes?"
"Master, what is a ’Prodigy of Nine Lifetimes’?" Lin Quanzi asked, confused.
Chen Xuandu shook his head. "It is better that you do not know."
Then, remembering what Lin Quanzi had just said, his gaze grew sharp. "So, you’re saying your mission was a failure, Fourth Brother?"
Lin Quanzi flinched in fear. "Master, please forgive me! That Xia Liang is unfathomable. I was afraid that if I stayed any longer, he would see through your plan, so I had to leave..."
"Enough! You are not to blame for this," Chen Xuandu said with a grand wave of his hand, stroking his beard as he frowned in thought. "Since he can divine matters concerning our sect, I’ll send an ordinary person to test him!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Quanzi’s eyes lit up.
Chen Xuandu thought for a moment before continuing. "Remember, you must not have any direct contact with this person. You must find a way to get someone with no connection to you to test him. If he truly possesses such skill, he will surely trace any ordinary person you contact directly back to you. Doesn’t he enjoy foiling plots? Fine. Then arrange a plot that he cannot foil! And it must be a plot that has absolutely nothing to do with you! Fourth Brother, do you understand what I mean?"
Lin Quanzi nodded, only partially understanding.
Chen Xuandu turned away, waving his hand dismissively. "Go. If you fail this time, I will have no choice but to act myself."
Hearing this, Lin Quanzi shivered violently. If Master has to act personally... it means I’ve lost all value in his eyes. The thought of the consequences sent a chill down his spine. Daring not to say another word, Lin Quanzi quickly excused himself.
As Lin Quanzi walked down the road, he desperately contemplated a way to deal with Xia Liang. No, I absolutely cannot let Master intervene, or else... The thought of the consequences made him shudder once more.
What he didn’t know was that several kilometers away, in Xue Ren’s estate, a pair of eyes was staring in the direction of Longhu Mountain. The owner of those eyes was none other than Xia Liang. And at this moment, Xia Liang already seemed to know what was coming.
A storm was imminent.
The atmosphere in the Grand Hall was oppressive. Several of the fortune tellers glanced at each other uneasily. After what had just happened with Tonghui, some of them were getting restless. After all, not all fortune tellers genuinely wanted to help the world; there were a few among them who had broken the rules. They had only dared to sit here so casually because they believed no one knew of their misdeeds. But with Xia Liang now in the picture, these unscrupulous few were beginning to feel antsy.
However, Xia Liang said nothing more, merely gazing toward Longhu Mountain, lost in thought.
"Master Xia Tian," Xue Ren suddenly spoke up. He was far more concerned about the construction of his charity museum than the other Feng Shui masters were. When Xia Liang turned to look at him, he asked, "Master Xia Tian, I was wondering when it would be appropriate to start construction."
Xia Liang shook his head. "Boss Xue, to be frank, you won’t be able to start construction for the time being."
Xue Ren was puzzled. "What do you mean by that, Master Xia Tian?"
Xia Liang frowned slightly as his gaze swept over the surrounding fortune tellers. He then gave Xue Ren a meaningful look. Xue Ren understood immediately. He promptly turned to the fortune tellers and said politely, "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for your time today. It’s getting late now. Why don’t I have my butler lead you all to dinner? We can make further plans tomorrow morning."
Hearing this, the fortune tellers’ lips twitched. The sun hadn’t even begun to set, so where was this talk of it being late coming from? However, they all understood this was Xue Ren’s tactful way of dismissing them. They quickly got up to leave. Those among them with guilty consciences didn’t even consider the offer of a meal, leaving the estate straightaway.
