Calais watched as Ardent carried his sister in a bridal carry. The said sister was sleeping, her head leaning on Ardent’s chest. Find more to read at novelbuddy
"She tire herself dealing with all the monsters in the 2nd floor." Ardent explained, before looking at him, a thoughtful expression on his face.
"If you think you can handle 8 group of goblin guards on your own, I will let you dive into the dungeon."
Frankly, the idea is tempting. Especially after Ardent told the Mages and Aura Users the method to refine their power by absorbing the Mana released by the killed monsters.
"Sure. Thank you, Master Ardent." Calais agreed immediately. While getting more 3rd Circle Mages and 1st Rank Aura Users will strengthened the village even more, it will not do for the Mages and Aura Users in question to be incompetent in using their newfound power.
Or at least that what he decided to tell himself for agreeing to Ardent’s proposal.
"Though, it will be the best if you bring others with you," Seeing the face Calais was making, Ardent explained quickly, "Not to help you clear the floor, but to help you in case you are in danger."
Calais find the explanation to be lacking. Which was caught by the stronger Mage.
"As much as I can accompany you, it’s better if I do patrol and teach the weaker Mages. I should be enough to protect the village. Plus, it will make thing easier if the Mages and Aura Users can create a schedule for training in the dungeon without my input."
Despite him feeling it sound wrong, Ardent put up a decent argument.
"Alright." he decided to agree with him, "I trust you on this one, Ardent." for the moment, he threat Ardent as his brother-in-law, not the strongest Mage in the village.
"Of course. Let’s talk with the other Mages first." a cute snore make them remember the one person they forget.
"After I send Catlin back to your home." Calais nodded. And with that, Ardent flew to the village, leaving Calais behind to talk to the others, on his own.
’Ughh, I hate you sometimes, brother-in-law.’

The next day, Ardent flew around the village, observing to see if there are any changes. As he did his round, he found some.
Namely, there are more outpost and guard houses around the village, making it easier for the guards to patrol the area. Then again, the one who build and use them is the Blue Boulder Mercenary Group.

While their action is more independent than he prefer, the new facilities will make things easier for the guards. Of course, if the Blue Boulder did not get assimilated into the village, which he plan on doing.
Aside from that, the long awaited rood from the dungeon to the village had also been created. With the road, the walk to the dungeon will not be as bothersome as it had been before. Plus, some fences were build to stop wild beasts like bears and wolves from using the road. Of course, those were also build by the Blue Boulder.
’They have other skills than combat, it seem.’ Ardent mused. Then again, as a mercenary group, they will need to build their encampment, prepare their meals, and more. Being able to build simple construct should be expected from them.
While their behavior so far had been excellent, Ardent cannot trust them fully. Even if they were scared to submission by him, especially when he show his true power at the 5th Circle, they can still attempt to assassinate him.
’Though, they need to be a brand of stupid to do that.’ As a 5th Circle Mage, Ardent’s power far surpass even the strongest Mages of Main Cities in the region.
He could never be sure, not unless a 4th Circle Mage appear in the village, but base on how he feel before and after he become a 5th Circle Mage, Ardent was about 70 percent certain he can stand in front a group of 4th Circle Mages and have them shoot their strongest spells for an entire day, and he will be unscathed just by using Barrier.
That’s how powerful he believe himself to be.
’Of course, I’m not the only one that improve.’ with his ability, Eye For Talent, Ardent could tell those with talents on being guards, Aura User, and even Mages.
With this, he can help them achieve their potential. Of course, they will decide the path they take, but Ardent will point out the best path they can take.
With his assistance, the number of Mages among the villagers rise from two 2nd Circle Mages, and thirteen 1st Circle Mages, to three 3rd Circle Mages, fifteen 2nd Circle Mages, and almost a hundred 1st Circle Mages.
If the amount was not impressive enough, those who can be Aura User about 50 percent more than that. Of course, some of it are farmers, craftsmen, those with important profession across the village.
However, Ardent did not let that stop him. He tell them they can learn Magic, and go back to their previous occupation, as the number of Mages allow for some to not be part of the security of the village.
And so, half of the lower rank Aura Users and Mages have other jobs. It still leave the village defended, and not counting the Blue Boulder.
Ardent decided to make a detour, and headed to the reason why the village have some many Mages and Aura Users in a short time.

"Seriously, the dungeon grow a bit too fast to my liking." Ardent muttered to himself. In the span of 2 months, give or take, a 3rd floor had already formed.
