I Became the Villain's Trainer-Chapter 91
Chapter 91
Carlisle gave Alexa a strange look. She was undoubtedly a member of the Red Clan. His keen wolf instincts confirmed it.
Moreover, Lunailliah had verified it. She had confirmed that the blood of the Red Clan ran through Alexa’s veins. Yet, there was no stench of dark magic or betrayal lingering around her.
‘Hmm...’
The most crucial fact was that despite being from the Red Clan, Alexa could wield light magic. She had even expressed a desire to learn healing magic. Given that the Red Clan had historically been proficient in healing arts, this could be a significant indicator. Carlisle lightly tapped Visten’s shoulder.
“Yes?”
“Bring me the eldest of the Red Clan.”
“Understood, Your Excellency.”
Though puzzled, Visten quickly concealed it. Essellia shot Carlisle a questioning glance, but he only responded with a subtle smirk.
* * *
“Wow.”
Alexa gasped, hanging from the balcony. It was the heart of winter in January. Seizing a brief lull in the snowstorm, the Ninth Prince Jeremiah arrived at Tersion. While the majesty of Thersion was impressive, the imperial palace was no less magnificent.
‘They really gilded it.’
Alexa blinked her large eyes. She guessed that if they sold just one of the carriages Jeremiah had arrived in, it would probably cover the cost of three of her most expensive dresses. Ever since she came to this world, she felt like she’d lost her sense of money. Alexa shook her head.
“Why, Alexa? Do you want to ride in a carriage like that?”
“What carriage?”
“The one made of gold.”
Ysildus teased, rubbing his head against her shoulder. His eyes glinted red as he looked up at her. Watching this scene, Terrun ground his teeth. He was certain it was a deliberate display to grab Alexa’s attention. He couldn’t fathom how the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess had given birth to such a hybrid with an unknown lineage. A true wolf should be steadfast and honest, like Terrun. He clicked his tongue in disapproval.
“No, that thing’s too much. I wouldn’t even be able to ride it.”
“If you want, I can make one for you, Alexa.”
“What?”
“I’ll make it bigger and more beautiful than that one.”
Of course, there was no need to mention that only members of the Imperial Family were allowed to ride golden carriages.
“No, seriously, I don’t need it. Really.”
Alexa responded quickly.
“Then why were you looking at it like that?”
“What kind of face was I making?”
“Hmm… a dreamy one? Don’t tell me you’re looking forward to meeting the Imperial Prince inside?”
Ysildus asked playfully, his eyes smiling mischievously. Terrun was sure of it. That sly fox was probably planning to bite into the Imperial Prince’s neck once he got the chance. Terrun clicked his tongue once more before grabbing Alexa’s other hand.
“Sister.”
“Hmm?”
“You’re not actually thinking of playing with that Imperial Prince, right?”
Terrun asked sullenly, while Ysildus squinted his eyes and glared at him. Oh, this ‘sister’ routine again. When did that bear cub learn to play tricks? Ysildus clicked his tongue and firmly grasped Alexa’s fingers.
“Of course not! The Ninth Prince inside that carriage has nothing to do with me, I swear.”
Alexa quickly shook her hands. She understood how anxious the wolves got when they were separated from her. The way they looked at her, like baby ducklings unwilling to be parted from their mother, was almost pitiful.
“I think you two are the best, Terrun and Ysildus!”
“Really?”
“Keep your word, sister.”
Alexa forced a smile. These young wolves didn’t know it yet, but a great fate was slowly rolling toward them.
“The Grand Duchess has asked that we greet the guests.”
The maid who came to fetch them smiled warmly. Ysildus and Terrun bared their teeth simultaneously. An unspoken tension passed between the wolves that only Alexa didn’t notice. They all descended to the first floor to meet the golden carriage’s destined occupants.
For the first time in a while, everyone residing in Thersion gathered in one place to greet the imperial envoys. The wolves’ noses twitched at the scent of humans permeating the castle. Soon, the door of the golden carriage opened, and a boy dressed in noble attire stepped out.
“Ninth Prince Jeremiah...”
Alexa muttered softly. He was exactly as described in the novel. Jeremiah had blonde hair as if spun from gold and red eyes that held the sun within them. A new male lead had arrived.
Jeremiah had been a character who showed gentle love for Selina. He never forced anything on her and was always there to support her happiness, cheering for her from behind. That made him a beloved character among readers. Though Alexa wasn’t sure how he would appear in this situation.
As she swallowed nervously, the Ninth Prince stood before Carlisle.
“Greetings, Grand Duke.”
Jeremiah bowed respectfully to Carlisle.
* * *
Jeremiah steadied his trembling heart. One misstep, and the Emperor would really kill his mother. To the Emperor, children were mere political tools, and concubines were little more than hostages. Jeremiah’s mother was considered worthless, even as an instrument of leverage.
The Emperor would kill them both without hesitation if Jeremiah failed to uncover Thersion’s weaknesses. If he couldn’t contribute to the downfall of Thersion, his life was forfeit.
Jeremiah had no particular grudge against Thersion, but he knew he had to disrupt their peace. Standing in the grand center of the fortress was Carlisle, the Grand Duke of Thersion. As Jeremiah bowed his head slowly, he gazed upon the radiant moon overhead.
“It’s an honor to meet you, Ninth Prince.”
Thersion had never been involved in central politics before. The only one who knew the secrets of Thersion was the Emperor. No one else had any idea what transpired within the fortress. They only knew that Thersion was home to exceptional knights who defended the empire.

It wasn’t until the Emperor mentioned it that Jeremiah learned Carlisle was an ancient wolf who had lived for centuries.
“It’s a great honor to have you here.”
Carlisle smiled, but Jeremiah couldn’t read his expression. Jeremiah swallowed hard. The master of this grand fortress was no easy opponent. He felt a chill run down his spine.
“Thank you for receiving me, Grand Duke. The Emperor sent me as a symbol of our eternal alliance. He also wishes to bestow an award for your great victory in the recent war.”
Jeremiah gestured toward the carts that had accompanied him. Carlisle squinted as he inspected them. Of course, both men knew these gestures were mere formalities. Carlisle had returned from the war long ago, and the Emperor had never acknowledged his achievements.
The Emperor had simply needed an excuse to send Jeremiah to Thersion. Jeremiah set foot in the Moonlight Fortress, a name given to Thersion by outsiders because the white marble glowed with the light of the moon each night.
“I’ll have to send my thanks to the Emperor. Butler.”
“Yes, Your Excellency?”
“Store these gifts properly. We must treat the Emperor’s generosity with respect.”
Jeremiah quickly averted his eyes from Carlisle. The Grand Duke’s piercing blue gaze seemed to see right through him, and Jeremiah felt a deep sense of unease. Perhaps somewhere within this castle, he would find a place to anchor himself.
As he scanned the castle, his eyes landed on a girl. She had long, curly red hair cascading down to her waist and gentle blue eyes that shone with light. Her pink lips were curved in a delicate smile, and the soft yellow dress she wore suited her perfectly. She looked every bit the noble young lady.
‘A Lady is living in Thersion?’
There had been no reports of her. He’d only heard that Thersion was a fortress of wolves. Narrowing his eyes, Jeremiah slowly studied her. On either side of her stood two boys with silver hair and blue eyes.
They bared their teeth at Jeremiah simultaneously. One grinned slyly, while the other scowled, his face stern. They looked like guard dogs protecting the girl. Amid the wolves, the girl stood out, radiating an odd sense of detachment and brilliance.
Without thinking, Jeremiah turned to Carlisle.
“Who is that girl?”
Carlisle smiled.
“Prince Jeremiah,” he said, taking a single step toward him. Though small, the movement radiated overwhelming pressure.
“Do not concern yourself with her. She is under Thersion’s protection.”
His expression suggested that further inquiries would lead to dire consequences. Jeremiah felt slighted. I... I was only curious... Jeremiah, who is still only about the age of Ysildus, nodded, his heart heavy with frustration.
