I Became the Villain's Trainer-Chapter 60
It almost feels like this is what it’s like to see his granddaughter. He thought that had he known this would happen, he should have married when he was young instead of breaking up. Of course, Karrolf’s other students opposed that statement.
[‘She was small, cute and adorable when we last saw her! Master, you definitely don’t expect your child to be like her, right?’]
The cheeky remark made by his pupils was silenced with his fist. Anyway, Karrolf chuckled and patted Alexa’s head.
“Hoho, little one.”
“Master, I finished my homework.”
Alexa carefully presented the result of her efforts over the past week. Karrolf received it and sat down beside Alexa, with Ysildus and Terrun on either side of her. The three of them sat together in a cozy cluster, like a family of squirrels.
Karrolf clicked his tongue inwardly. Those two, pretending to be innocent, were actually drooling over Alexa. Ysildus, the sly fox, and Terrun, the big, dumb bear, were both eyeing Alexa with interest. Did Alexa know that?
Karrolf put aside his concerns and unfolded Alexa’s homework. He started reading it with a light heart, but soon found himself becoming deeply engrossed. Alexa’s strength lay in her ability to not only recognize problems but also to explore and try to solve them.
Her homework was filled with answers to the questions Karrolf had posed, as well as her own unique perspectives. Some of the content even resonated with Karrolf himself.
“Alexa...!”
Karrolf was filled with admiration. Alexa seemed to be enveloped in light. The wolf pack had a closed-off nature, and there was almost no exchange between villages even within Thersion. At most, there might be interactions with the upper echelons. As a result, inbreeding was prevalent, whether near or far.
Alexa linked this to the Aether. Karrolf had recognized that there was an issue with the Aether but had not yet connected it to its source. However, Alexa’s opinion was something Karrolf could accept.
“I am so happy to have found such a treasure like you! So, where did you get this idea?”
“Inbreeding has long been forbidden by humans. I read a research report on it and connected it to the Aether, Master.”
Alexa spoke coherently.
“Good, good!” Karrolf chuckled. “But, you wrote that we should hold a festival... Alexa, do you think it’s possible?”
Karrolf asked with a pensive expression. It would require some form of coercion for reclusive wolves to mingle. Could that be reasonable in a festival meant for enjoyment? This was the only part that Karrolf couldn’t agree with Alexa’s opinion.
“It’s possible, Master. The war has only ended. It will be a great opportunity if the Grand Duke holds a festival to celebrate.”
“Then how do we get the reclusive wolves out?”
“Not all Thersion knights came from one village. Why don’t we invite their relatives? It will be a natural way to bring everyone together. If we hold the festival for a week instead of just one day, I think people will naturally start to mingle.”
“The knights are already interacting with each other, right?”
“Yes!”
Introducing colleagues to family members isn’t unusual. By doing so, and given the nature of the festival, it would allow everyone to mingle. Of course, hosting a festival will bring about various incidents.
However, opening up inter-village exchanges and creating new connections is important. Young men and women will find it easier to connect with each other. With a festival, a joyful atmosphere, and music, it’s easy for people to fall in love. In fact, this is just a stepping stone. But it’s also true that it’s not a bad start.
“Alexa, can I show this to the Grand Duke?”
“Yes! Of course, Master.”
That was exactly Alexa’s intention. To naturally convey this idea to Carlisle. In the original story, Ysildus was so devoted to Selina that he would have picked stars from the sky if she had asked, but now Alexa had to deal with Carlisle. Alexa didn’t think that Carlisle would be swayed by her words alone. It would be more convincing if the idea came from Karrolf.
Carlisle still didn’t fully trust Alexa, and whenever he needed to ask for her opinion, he would bring Visten along. The suspicious Carlisle was still keeping a close eye on Alexa. Alexa smiled brightly, seemingly unaware of Carlisle’s reservations.
“I’m glad you are accepting my suggestion, Master.”
“On the contrary, I am grateful, Alexa. I think I can solve a long-time homework problem, thanks to you.”
Alexa smiled shyly. This was nothing. She had been solely relying on the knowledge she gained from the novel. What she was feeling strongly these days was the need to leave Thersion Castle before the true extent of her knowledge is exposed – before Carlisle lost his use for her.
Karrolf set aside the homework Alexa gave him and continued with the lesson. He taught Alexa how to concoct medicines from the herbs found here, then let her try it herself. There was a reason why he was teaching her so much today. Karrolf also taught Alexa which herbs could be taken together and which ones were mutually incompatible, as well as how they would affect humans and werewolves differently.
“Well, that’s it for today’s lesson, Alexa. Did you have fun today?”
“Yes! What should I do for homework?”
Karrolf’s homework was unpredictable. It seemed that he valued the process of Alexa exploring and learning on her own. Sometimes he would have her study anatomy, and other times he would have her research birth rates. It was as if he was teaching her the main lesson, but also throwing in extra topics for her to study on the side. Karrolf handed her a small note. The note, which appeared to be torn from a larger piece of paper, had a single address written on it.
“Find this person.”
“This is...”
“Do you know how wolves’ blood weakens?”
Alexa nodded.
“The blood gets stronger in the wolf god’s direct descendants because of the artifact they possess.”
“That’s right. The artifact is said to have the blessing of the gods. But only the Grand Duke knows what it is and what it looks like.”
Karrolf continued, his expression thoughtful.
“The person that lives in that address has lived for a long time. No one knows where they came from or what they do for a living. All that is known about him is that they are a descendant of the Thersion bloodline. Go visit them.”
“What can I learn from them?”
“About Thersion. I can’t help but think that you’re special, Alexa. Think about it from your perspective, from your unique point of view – his story.”
“Yes, Master!”
The oldest living descendant of the Thersion bloodline. This person didn’t appear in the original story. Now that fate had changed, new characters were starting to emerge, and the positions of the original extras were shifting. Alexa gazed at the note with a curious expression.
‘This is no longer the <Puppy Grand Duke’s Succession Class> I once knew.’
This is a new story Alexa is writing – not just her, but everyone in the world.

‘So what happens to the author?’
If only I could meet the Grim Reaper again, there are so many things I’d like to ask. Whether this world truly exists or if Alexa is still wandering in a dream. Given that she feels warm blood flowing through her and experiences joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness, it seems real. However, whether it is an actual world remains uncertain. She might have even become a character herself. Or it could be someone’s dream. Alexa clutched the note tightly in her hand.
“If you find this difficult or challenging, don’t hesitate to tell me, Alexa. You come first for me.”
“I’ll keep that in mind, Master!”
Alexa smiled brightly. Karrolf smiled in return.

Ruella clicked her tongue. Selina had been sending letters almost every day. If she had failed after all her efforts, she should have remained silent and hidden. Ruella tossed the letter into the fireplace without even checking it.
‘Useless, as always.’
She had thought she picked the most useful option, but it wasn’t the case. Displeased, Ruella chewed on her lip. The heavy atmosphere of the spire was pressing down on her. She wanted to escape from this place. She regretted stabbing the former master in the back. She never imagined that the curse intertwined with the red hair and blue eyes would be passed on to her. And now the red-haired child sent to lift the curse was doing nothing but strange things. Asking how to make poison.
“Does she think it’s easy?”
Ruella grumbled and collapsed onto the bed. Time was passing quickly, day by day. A sunset was casting its glow on her pale, oddly subdued face.
‘Alexa...’
Alexa. The name kept swirling in her mind.
