I Became the Villain's Trainer-Chapter 102
Chapter 102
Time flowed faster than anything else. The ice melted, and in its place, sprouts emerged and shyly lifted their heads. Before anyone realized it, Alexa’s birthday was drawing near.
This made Visten and Essellia the busiest of all. Violeta, who had always managed external matters rather than administrative ones, was excluded from such meticulous tasks, as she lacked any sense for them. Essellia, on the other hand, had the experience of managing the household as the Grand Duchess of the Grand Duchy, which allowed her to join forces with Visten.
As planned, they were determined to make Alexa’s birthday, which would also serve as her debutante ball, more splendid than anyone else’s. A week felt as though it passed in a single day.
The curtains, flowerpots, carpets, and food that would adorn the hall where the debutante was to be held – all of these were coming together under Visten and Essellia’s meticulous touch. Furthermore, as the Grand Duchess of the Grand Duchy, Essellia had the additional duty of looking after the children.
Ysildus, Alexa, Terrun, and even Jeremiah were growing at a remarkable pace. Looking after what the children ate and wore made some days feel as short as an hour. While all the children were achieving impressive growth, Alexa stood out the most.
Karrolf, who taught Alexa, praised her as a divine prodigy. Brillia, who taught her magic, declared Alexa an extraordinary talent worthy of becoming the master of the Magic Tower. Especially during magic lessons, which she took alongside Jeremiah, Alexa’s brilliance became even more pronounced.
Brillia repeatedly urged Essellia to attend one of Alexa’s lessons. It had been quite some time since Essellia had last observed, as her current schedule left no room for it. Carlisle was also swamped, dealing with refugees and restoration efforts following natural disasters in their domain.

Finally, today, Essellia managed to make time to observe Alexa’s lesson. She quickly understood Brillia’s enthusiasm.
“Alexa, are you casting magic without drawing a magic circle or chanting an incantation?”
Alexa smiled brightly.
“Yes, Your Grace.”
“Your Grace, this is an achievement that no one at her age has ever accomplished. Alexa possesses extraordinary talent, enough to become the master of the Magic Tower! In fact, she could take on the role right now if she wished!”
Brillia spoke with excitement, her voice rising. Alexa, familiar with Brillia’s over-the-top enthusiasm, let out a deep sigh. Blushing, she turned to chat quietly with Jeremiah, seemingly unaware of the gravity of her achievements. Essellia watched Alexa with a complicated expression, fully aware of the bloodline Alexa had inherited.
Alexa was the key to lifting the curse of the Red Clan, or so the oldest living member of the clan had said.
The Red Clan had once been known as the most powerful wielders of light magic. Considering this, Alexa’s extraordinary abilities weren’t so surprising. She simply possessed what she was meant to.
However, as Alexa grew, her aura became increasingly pronounced.
‘I’m not sure whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.’
Even Carlisle had warned against making definitive assumptions about Alexa. It might soon be time to visit Lunailliah, who might hold the answers.
Essellia pushed her thoughts aside and extended her hand to Alexa.
“Alexa, come here.”
Alexa stepped forward gracefully, placing her small hand in Essellia’s. Her hand was noticeably smaller than Esselia’s. As Alexa drew closer, a sweet floral scent enveloped the air. This fragrance, growing stronger as Alexa matured, didn’t unsettle like a wolf’s predatory instinct but rather soothed it. Esselia smiled softly.
“Yes, Your Grace.”
“You are the light of this Grand Duchy.”
Essellia gently patted Alexa’s hand. Regardless of the fate awaiting her, Alexa’s innate kindness would remain unchanging.
“Your Grace... I’m not as extraordinary as you think.”
Alexa said, her round eyes curling into an adorable smile. Her smile was as lovely as the warm sunlight that brought forth new buds in spring. Before Essellia could respond, Alexa added.
“It’s everyone’s strength, including yours, that makes me special. On my own, I’m truly nothing.”
“Alexa...”
How could someone say such sweet things? Behind them, Brillia clutched her chest, seemingly on the verge of fainting. Essellia, too, gazed at Alexa, deeply moved.
“You truly are like light and salt, Alexa.”*
“Huh?”
Alexa blushed and shook her head. This is why people would do anything for her. Esselia pondered what Alexa might need. As she stroked Alexa’s hand, Essellia spoke again.
“I heard you’ve grown taller recently.”
“Yes! I’ve grown three centimeters!”
This was worth celebrating. Alexa beamed proudly. She had always worried the entire Grand Duchy due to her slow growth, but now, it seemed her growth spurt had finally arrived. Essellia’s smile brightened.
“When you have your debutante ball, you’ll officially become a Lady.”
“Yes, Your Grace.”
“And every Lady deserves things befitting her status. Alexa, we should redecorate your room.”
“What?”
Alexa’s eyes widened. Out of nowhere? Why? Her furniture, from her bed to her vanity, was perfectly fine. And just because she grew three centimeters didn’t mean they had become too small. But Essellia thought otherwise.
“You said you’ve grown three centimeters.”
“My bed was replaced just a month ago!” Alexa protested.
Alexa turned pale and shook her head fervently. Changing beds once a month? That was something she had never heard of before. Changing bedding once a month, sure, but changing beds like they were pillowcases? Absolutely unheard of!
“A month? That’s a long time.”
Essellia said with a click of her tongue.
“I’ll talk to the Head Maid. We’ll prepare a new room befitting a young lady. Perhaps a larger one as well.”
Until now, Alexa had thought Essellia was the least dramatic person in the entire household. But clearly, she had severely underestimated her. Lost in thought for a moment, Essellia finally spoke again.
“We’ll knock down the walls between two east-facing rooms on the second floor and combine them. As you grow taller, so should the size of your room.”
This was absurd. Alexa shook her head even more energetically. The room she had now was already incredibly spacious – spacious enough for herself, Ysildus, Terrun, and now even Jeremiah to lounge around together and still have room to spare. What in the world was Essellia talking about?
“I-It’s already more than enough!”
“No, Alexa, it’s not. Come to think of it, I haven’t checked on your dressing room in quite some time.”
Please, don’t check on it!
“Your Graceeeeeee...”
“A lady must have patterns, lace, and colors that suit her.”
Alexa looked like she was about to cry as she shook her head wildly. She’s still 17. How much could possibly have changed? She desperately turned to Brillia and Jeremiah, hoping someone would help bring this madness to an end.
“I’ll help with the renovations, Your Grace. There’s bound to be a spell that can assist.”
“Such a kind offer, Brillia.”
“And make sure to add plenty of rugs, Your Grace.”
For some reason, Jeremiah joined in the planning as well.
“That’s the plan, Your Highness. Not only Ysildus and Terrun, but even Your Highness seem loath to lift yourselves from the rugs.”
At that moment, Alexa came to a harsh realization: Jeremiah was not on her side either. They were all conspiring together! With a deep sigh, she hung her head low.

“Ysildus, does this make any sense?”
Alexa flopped onto her bed, rolling from one end to the other in frustration.
“See? There’s so much space left!”
Standing nearby with his arms crossed, Ysildus smiled faintly. Disheveled hair and wide, frustrated eyes, Alexa looked so adorable that he couldn’t help but want to pinch her. Or maybe, swallow her up in one gulp? No, that would be going too far.
“And yet, they’re replacing this perfectly fine bed!”
Alexa pouted.
“They’re even giving me a new room... Isn’t this place already way too big?”
Without a word, Ysildus climbed onto the bed beside her, taking up the space she had vacated. His hand naturally reached out to stroke her soft hair, the silky strands wrapping around his fingers. The smooth sensation seemed to melt away his tension.
“It’s not too big, Alexa. After all, your room isn’t just yours anymore, is it? What about Terrun and Jeremiah?”
What nonsense was this? Alexa bolted upright, staring at him in disbelief.
“This is supposed to be my room! Why are you sneaking yourself into the equation?”
Her voice was incredulous. Oh no, she caught on, Ysildus thought to himself. Tilting his head innocently, he responded with the softest voice, as if he had no ulterior motives whatsoever.
“Are you saying you’re no longer willing to share even a corner of your room with me, Alexa?”
“What... what are you...?”
“I still get scared at night when you’re not around. Have I become a burden to you, Alexa?”
Ysildus’ voice was laden with feigned sorrow, oozing with exaggerated vulnerability.

(T/N: When they said Alexa is like light and salt, I think they meant to say that she complemented their otherwise boring lives. Just like how light is always associated with darkness, using the right amount of salt in cooking makes food taste delicious. As wolves, they might have thought that their lives were dull, until Alexa came.)
