I Became the Best Forensic Doctor After My Betrayal-Chapter 262 - Go Home Early
262 Go Home Early
Lian Jing sneered. He could imagine how smug Lian Meng was when she said this. The smile on his face faded a little, and he lectured her mercilessly, “If I can rely on Song Wei for everything, then what do I need you for? After settling your work, you had better come home immediately. Since you want to stay in China, you’re not allowed to go anywhere after you come back!”
He viciously ended the call. Shen Yin looked in shock at the man beside her who had suddenly spoken so sternly. She could not help but push his arm and asked in surprise, “What’s wrong with you? Why are you suddenly so angry?”
Lian Jing looked at Shen Yin’s concerned gaze, and his anger miraculously dissipated. He grabbed her hand and repeatedly rubbed her not-so-smooth fingers.
This was a pair of hands that could hold a scalpel, slice open the skin of a corpse, and remove its internal organs. Unlike most girls, the nails were not carefully tended. The calluses on the fingers pads were a little hard to the touch, but he liked them so much that he could not bear to part with them.
“Nothing.” Lian Jing’s voice was very low. He seemed to have realized that he had overreacted just now. He rubbed his eyebrows tiredly and stood up. “I’ll call Zhong Xin over to tidy up.”
“Forget it.” Shen Yin hurriedly grabbed his hand. “It’s just clearing the table. I’ll do it. There’s no need to trouble Secretary Zhong.”
Lian Jing chuckled and nodded. “Then I’ll clean up with you.”
It was all thanks to Shen Yin’s diligence that Zhong Xin was able to have a full meal without worrying about work.
The people in the office began to return. When they saw Zhong Xin standing outside the President’s office, they immediately asked in surprise, “Why is Brother Zhong standing outside today?”
In the past, other than the work he did independently, he would always be in the office to wait on President Lian.
Zhong Xin looked expressionlessly at the other secretaries who could always work safely under his protection. He could not help but curl his lips into a nasty smile. “The future Madam President is inside. Of course, I can’t go in.”
The few people who were smiling cheekily just now were instantly shocked. They hurriedly surrounded Zhong Xin and peeked at the office door. They asked softly and curiously, “Future Madam President? Our President is not single? When did this happen? What does she look like? Isn’t she as beautiful as a fairy?”
Zhong Xin rolled his eyes speechlessly. He really did not expect the men from the secretariat to be as gossipy as the young ladies at the front desk downstairs. He frowned in frustration and glared at them. “Don’t be so annoying.”
He casually pointed at a man in a dark blue shirt. Zhong Xin mercilessly checked his work. “You, can you submit the report I asked you to write this morning?”
“And you!” He pointed at a man with long, flowing hair. He aimed for the chink in the man’s armor and said coldly, “When will the quarterly summary be completed? The next time President Lian asks, I won’t help you to deceive him!” ƒ𝑟e𝘦we𝑏n𝑜𝚟𝙚Ɩ. 𝒄𝚘𝐦
“No, no, no!” He knew all the secretaries’ weaknesses. They hurriedly shut their mouths and did not dare to say anything else. They hurriedly scurried back to the secretariat and buried their heads in their work.
Zhong Xin finally heaved a sigh of relief once they stopped chattering. He looked at the less masculine secretaries in the secretariat and immediately felt helpless.
He was very glad that the President had finally found true love. If he continued to be single, people would not only spread gossip about the secret relationship between him and President Lian, these guys in the secretariat would probably be rumored to be the President’s secret lovers.
The lunch break passed very quickly. Shen Yin was afraid of disturbing his work and wanted to go home, but Lian Jing held her shoulders firmly and pressed her down on the sofa. He had his way with her for a long time before she managed to break free from his grip.
Lian Jing’s eyes were deep and gentle. Her sweet taste lingered on his lips. He could not help but lean close to her ear and smile devilishly. “I really want to eat you right here.”
“Lian Jing!” Shen Yin pushed him away in a flurry and straigtened her clothes that he had crumpled. Her face was red as she said, “I-I’d better leave first. You should come home early for dinner tonight.”
Lian Jing’s eyes crinkled as he looked at her flustered expression. His heart was pounding, but he forced down the fiery flame that was burning. Even his voice was hoarse from the heat. “Alright, if you want me to go back early, I will definitely do so.”
As he stared at her with hungry eyes, Shen Yin’s intuition told her that dinner was not the only reason why he had agreed to go home earlier.
His scorching words were still ringing in her ears. Shen Yin’s heart skipped a beat, and she was so flustered that she did not even know where to place her hands and feet. “The-then I’ll leave first. Go do your work. Goodbye.”
The office door was suddenly pushed open. Fortunately, Zhong Xin reacted quickly or the sturdy wooden door would have hit his head.
Seeing Shen Yin hurry away in disarray, Zhong Xin was terrified that the two of them might have quarreled. He hurried into the office to make peace.
He had painstakingly maintained the President’s good mood. He had thought that it would last for an entire day, but he did not expect his previous efforts to be wasted so quickly!
