Chapter 413: Chapter 413 Morning Warmth

Alina woke slowly, her eyes fluttering open as the soft morning light spread across the room like warm silk. For a moment she didn’t even remember where she was, only that something warm and steady rested beneath her cheek, and a quiet rhythm pulsed under her palm.

Then she lifted her head slightly and saw Dante. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

He was already awake, lying on his side with one arm behind his head, watching her with the kind of soft, unreadable warmth that made her entire body heat up. His crimson eyes held a lazy tenderness, like he had been awake for a while and simply didn’t want to disturb her.

"Good morning," he murmured, voice low and rich from sleep. He leaned in without thinking, lips nearing hers with a slow, confident ease that made her heart jump in panic and delight.

But Alina gasped softly, her eyes widening as she quickly pressed both hands against his chest to stop him.

"I haven’t brushed yet!"she blurted, face turning the deepest shade of pink.

Dante blinked once, then smirked in that infuriatingly attractive way of his. "I don’t mind," he said, leaning again, clearly about to steal the kiss anyway.

"No—no, no, no!" she squeaked, scooting back, and in her flustered panic she tumbled out of bed and rushed toward her bag. She grabbed her phone just to avoid looking at him and saw the time.

7:02 AM

Her heart jumped again. "Oh God, I’m late—well, not late but almost late— I need to get ready!" she muttered, more to herself than to him.

Dante couldn’t help but feel amused. She didn’t even have class at all, she just had to correct a few papers, and it was still too early in the morning. Clearly she was shy and avoiding him.

He stayed in the bed, resting on one elbow, watching her with a lazy, amused expression that made her blush even more. He looked too handsome in the soft morning light, hair slightly tousled, shadows curling around him like he owned the entire room and—her heart.

He chuckled under his breath when Alina practically fled to the bathroom.

While she brushed, washed, and composed herself, he stayed where he was, fingers tapping slowly against the blanket as if trying to resist laughing at how adorable she had been.

A few minutes later, she emerged wearing her usual dress, fresh and glowing from her bath. She crossed the room quickly, trying not to meet his eyes, and stood in front of the tall mirror. As she combed her hair gently, smoothing it down with careful strokes, she tied it into a neat ponytail, hoping it would calm the flutter in her chest.

Dante finally sat up, his gaze lingering on her reflection.

"Alina,"he said softly, voice warm enough to melt her again.

She met his eyes through the mirror and felt her cheeks warm all over.

This morning felt dangerously sweet.

She tightened her ponytail one last time, feeling her heart settle into a steady rhythm. She turned toward him just as he stretched lazily on the bed, looking far too relaxed for someone who had important things to prepare.

"You... you said the witch is coming today to hide our babies’ horns," she reminded, marching toward him with tiny determined steps. "Why are you being lazy?"

Dante blinked at her, as if the word lazy had personally offended the Demon Lord of an entire domain..

Then his eyes widened slightly—realizing she was right. He had told her that.He remembered now.

"It’s fine," he said with a casual shrug and a wave of his hand, as if witches appeared on his schedule only to please him. "She wouldn’t mind."

Of course she wouldn’t. She wouldn’t dare to mind. Dante funded half her witchcraft materials and casually provided rare resources most witches only dreamed of. If he told her to appear at sunrise, she would be waiting since midnight.

But Alina still gave him the "I will lecture you" look.

"Oh! Still, I need to go quickly!" she said, rushing to grab her bag.

Dante watched her whirl around like a tiny storm, and he couldn’t help rolling his eyes—softly, fondly, helplessly. "And you should get ready too!"she said, pointing her finger at him like a strict teacher. "You’re the dad of the babies! You can’t show up looking like this!"

Dante raised an eyebrow, glancing down at himself.

"This is literally what I sleep in,"he said dryly.

"Exactly!" she shot back.

He sighed, the long-suffering, dramatically patient sigh of a demon lord who had somehow found himself controlled by a human woman half his size.

"Fine," he muttered, pushing the blanket aside as he stood. He headed toward the washroom with long strides, dignified as ever, until Alina noticed something.

Her brows pulled together slowly.

He didn’t carry any clothes.

Not even a towel.

Nothing.

"Uh... Dante?" she called softly, confused. "You didn’t take anything with you. What are you even going to wear?"

Dante paused at the washroom door, gave her a completely unreadable look, and then the corner of his mouth curled just slightly—cool, smug, mischievous.

"My shadows will handle it," he said simply, as if that explained everything.

And he disappeared inside, leaving Alina staring at the closed door, her mind full of question marks.

She pressed her palm against her cheek, shaking her head.

"Right... demon things," she muttered under her breath.

But her lips softened into a small, helpless smile as she turned toward the mirror again.

Life with him was...umm magical. And she was already getting used to it.

When Dante finally stepped out of the washroom wearing his usual fine dark attire, Alina raised her brows. She didn’t comment. Some time ago he started wearing shirts, though he is back to his usual dark attire. Typical demon fashion, she thought, amused.

"Let’s go," she said softly, picking up her bag. She reached forward and pulled open the door—

And froze.

Because standing right outside her room were two very tiny, very offended babies, their backs perfectly straight, their arms crossed, and their eyes shining with tragic disappointment.
