Chapter 362: Chapter 362 Magical

"This place..." Alina murmured, unable to pull her gaze away, "it doesn’t feel real."

"It is very real," Dante said, his voice a deep calm beside her. "This part of the domain is special. It keeps its own seasons. The blossoms bloom only under certain skies."

"They look like night snow," she whispered.

Dante nodded slightly. "Shadow Blossoms represent peace in our domain. When they fall like this, it means the land is resting."

Lucien pointed excitedly at the trees. "Teacher, look. Look. That one is biggest. Dad says it is one thousand years old."

Sable tugged on her arm gently. "Teacher, if petal touches your hair, it means domain likes you."

Alina blinked, startled. "Really?"

Sable nodded with absolute seriousness. "Yes. Only special people."

Lucien chimed in, "Teacher is special."

Alina felt her cheeks warm. She touched the small petal resting near her ear and smiled softly. "It is beautiful... I have never seen anything like it."

The boat drifted closer to the shore, and the petals continued to rain around them like silent blessings. The ground beneath the trees was covered in a thin blanket of black and silver blossoms, making the entire landscape look like a fantasy dreamland.

"It is... magical," Alina whispered, emotion thickening her voice.

Dante looked at her gently. "Then I am glad you came."

And for a brief moment, with shadow petals swirling around them and the soft wind brushing along her dress, Alina felt like she had stepped into a place meant only for fairytales... and yet, she was living it.

Dante’s shadows were already waiting near the shore, standing silently beside a neatly arranged pile of everything they had requested. The mat was rolled perfectly, the baskets were tied with soft twine, the drinks were lined up in cold containers, and even a little stack of toys sat on one side. It looked like a picnic arranged by an elite royal household rather than a simple family outing.

Alina’s eyes sparkled. "Let’s make the picnic arrangement together," she said cheerfully, clapping her hands once in excitement.

The moment her voice lifted, three heads nodded at the same time. Lucien’s little curls bounced, Sable’s shadows danced joyfully at his feet, and even Dante gave a small, earnest nod as if preparing for a mission of great importance.

"Alright," Alina said, bending slightly to grab one end of the mat. "Hold the other sides." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Lucien rushed to her left, gripping the edge with tiny but determined hands. Sable took the right side, standing straight like a soldier trying not to wiggle from excitement. Dante quietly stepped behind her, taking the back edge with one effortless motion.

Together, they lifted the mat and spread it out across the soft ground. Black petals sprinkled over the air as the fabric unfurled, falling like silent snowflakes onto the corners. Dante gently shook them off before helping smooth the surface, his fingers brushing near Alina’s as they worked.

Once the mat was laid out, the baskets were placed neatly on top. Drinks were arranged to the side, and Dante’s shadows brought a beautifully crafted shade canopy that unfurled like a soft black wing. He raised it above the mat, letting it settle in place so the falling petals wouldn’t overwhelm their picnic.

Finally, when everything was set, the four of them settled down under the canopy. Lucien and Sable immediately gravitated toward the tiny pile of Lego blocks. They sat cross-legged, whispering eagerly about which tower they should build first.

Alina leaned forward slightly, her eyes drawn toward the serene river stretching before them. The water was unbelievably still, like a sheet of glass reflecting the stormy gray sky. The mountains stood quietly in the distance, wrapped in soft fog that drifted in slow waves. The entire scene felt beautiful, stunning, and peaceful.

A quiet warmth spread through her chest as she breathed in the cool air.

Dante sat beside her, not too close, not too far, just close enough that she could feel his presence. He followed her gaze toward the river, his expression softening in a way she rarely saw.

"The river looks so calm," Alina whispered, tucking a stray hair behind her ear.

"It always flows slowly here," Dante murmured. "The Shadow Domain does not like chaos."

Alina smiled faintly. "It is beautiful."

Dante’s eyes lingered on her profile for a moment, longer than he intended. "Yes," he said quietly, "it is."

She did not notice the shift in his tone, but Lucien did. The little boy paused his Lego building, looked between the two of them, and then elbowed Sable with a tiny whisper.

"Dad is staring again."

Sable nodded seriously. "Teacher must not know. Or Dad will die of shy."

Lucien hummed. "Too late."

Dante, who had perfect hearing, heard their smallest whisper and cleared his throat softly, forcing his gaze back to the river. But the faint pink at the tips of his ears betrayed him completely.

Alina took another peaceful breath, letting the petals fall softly around them. "This is perfect," she murmured.

Dante turned his head slightly. "Because you are here."

Alina blinked, startled, turning toward him just as he looked away as if he had not said anything at all.

Lucien and Sable exchanged a look.

"Thank you, sir..." Alina whispered, her cheeks warming as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

To distract herself from how flustered she felt, she reached into her bag and pulled out her phone. "Let me take some pictures," she said softly, lifting it up toward the scenery. She clicked several photos of the black cherry blossom trees, the foggy mountains, the shimmering river, and even the soft scattering of petals around their mat.

The moment she lowered her phone, she froze.

Another phone was resting quietly beside her knee.

Dante’s phone.

She blinked, startled for .a second. She had actually never seen him use his phone before.

He cleared his throat, a tiny hint of awkwardness slipping into his voice. "Help me too," he said quietly. "Click some photos of us... and the babies... and the scenery. Like the ones you took. They were... very good."
