I Became a Kindergarten Teacher for Monster Babies!-Chapter 348 Kind?
Outside the palace, almost the entire courtyard had gathered to watch them leave. Mermaids, mermen, tiny sea children, attendants, and guards—faces of every kind smiled at the sight of Class D boarding the bus. Some waved, some tapped the glass gently, and a few of the littlest mer-babies tried to swim after Boo, who blew them dramatic goodbye bubbles from the door.
Lady Maris pressed her hands together, her eyes shining softly. King Corvus raised his hand in a dignified wave. Arielle shouted, "Bye Sable!!" with her tiny voice echoing adorably.
And slowly, as Dante and Alina made sure everyone was inside and safe, the great turtle bus began to glow. Lights shone across its shell like morning sunlight rippling over waves, and the ocean around them brightened as it prepared to carry them upward.
As the bus rose, hundreds of gentle bubbles floated up around them like blessings, and the entire kingdom waved as Class D began their journey back home.
Alina stepped into the turtle bus and froze so suddenly that Boo bumped into her back with a soft "oof!" Her eyes widened as she slowly took in the interior, every bit of worry she carried melting into pure astonishment.
The seats were gone.
All of them.
In their place, along the right side of the bus, were nine tiny beds, each perfectly sized for a baby. Little ocean-blue blankets lay folded neatly at their corners, paired with the softest-looking pillows she had ever seen. On the other side stood two larger beds, warm and inviting. Soft golden lights glowed overhead, bathing the whole space in a gentle warmth that made her feel like she had stepped into the sleepiest, coziest place.
"Sir... what is this...?" she whispered, almost breathless.
Dante glanced around casually, as if transforming a bus into a bedroom was completely normal. "It will take some time to reach," he said quietly. "So... I thought the children might prefer to nap."
Alina turned to him with round, stunned eyes, her voice filled with a soft happiness she couldn’t hide. "Sir... you’re so kind."
Dante actually blinked.
Kind?
To him, a demon lord, kind was usually considered an insult, but coming from her, with her voice so warm and sincere, he felt something strange flicker inside his chest. His lips twitched almost shyly as he looked away.
He watched silently as she moved from bed to bed, arranging blankets, tucking pillows, adjusting little corners with the tenderness of a mother setting up her children’s cradle. Something gentle bloomed in his heart at the sight.
One by one, the chaos began to tumble in.
"I want to sleep with Vlad Jr.!" Drake announced loudly, dragging his blanket.
Vlad Jr. straightened instantly, his tiny face glowing with a satisfaction he tried to hide under a cool expression. "If you say so," he replied, pretending he didn’t care, but his red eyes sparkled happily.
Drake hopped onto the bed beside him and tucked his wings under the blanket. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
Across the way, Luna was having her own meltdown. She had been placed beside Boo, who decided to celebrate the arrangement by making spooky "woooooo~" sounds in her ear.
Luna’s tail puffed up like an angry wolf pup. With a fierce glare, she yanked her blanket over her head and pressed the pillows around her ears. "I can still hear you!!" she hissed.
Boo grinned proudly. "Boo is naturally scary!"
"Be quiet!" she growled from under the blanket.
Nearby, Sable, Felix, and Lucien settled automatically beside each other. Sable curled instantly under his blanket, shadows softly patting the pillow like they were comforting him. Felix let out a tiny yawn and adjusted his blanket. Lucien glanced at Alina longingly, wanting to sleep beside her, but curled up obediently when she gently rubbed his head.
Rocky climbed into his bed next to Luna, sitting in a perfect little square rock form for a moment before shifting back into his shy boy shape and tucking himself in.
Alina stood there, watching all of them wriggle in their tiny beds, her heart softening so much she felt she might melt right into the floor.
"Sir," she murmured, glancing at Dante again as he adjusted the dim lights, "this is... perfect."
Dante’s gaze met hers and he nodded.
Alina’s gaze drifted toward the two larger beds tucked at the far end of the turtle bus, placed neatly side by side beneath the warm light. For a moment she simply stared, her breath catching in her throat.
Two beds.
Side by side.
Her heartbeat stumbled, then sped up wildly until she could almost hear it in her ears. Does... does he expect us to sleep there? Together? Next to each other? Oh no... oh no... Her fingers curled nervously into her skirt. Warmth rushed up her neck, blooming across her cheeks like a rising tide.
She swallowed hard, refusing to look at Dante in case her imagination betrayed her. She didn’t dare ask him anything. She didn’t dare assume anything. Instead, she walked toward one of the bigger beds as calmly as she could, lifted the blanket, and climbed in quietly. The soft mattress dipped beneath her weight, hugging her with gentle warmth. She pretended she didn’t notice how her hands trembled ever so slightly.
And then—
A shadow flickered.
Dante appeared beside the other bed, climbing in with natural ease, as if the arrangement had been obvious from the beginning. The bed creaked under his tall frame, his dark silhouette settling against the pillow. The warm lighting cast a faint glow on his cheekbones, turning the sharp lines of his face into something quietly breathtaking.
Alina’s heart nearly leapt out of her chest.
Ignore it. Ignore it. Lucifer save me, just ignore it.
She pulled her blanket up to her chin, trying to smother the butterflies storming inside her. To distract herself, she cleared her throat softly and called out to the little beds lined up opposite them.
"Who is awake?" she asked, hoping her voice didn’t sound as shaky as it felt.
For a moment there was silence.
Then Boo’s tiny, sleepy voice piped up from under his blanket, "Drake! Vlad Jr.! Luna! Sable! Rocky! Felix! Lucien are awake and Boo is sleeping, zzzzzz..."
He made an exaggerated snoring sound loud enough to wake the dead.
All the babies burst into delighted laughter, Luna kicking her blanket, Drake laughing loudly, Sable hiding his face in his pillow from embarrassment, and Rocky rolling onto his side giggling like a tiny pebble.
Even Dante let out a soft breath, almost a chuckle, while Alina pressed her hand against her mouth to stop herself from laughing too loudly.
