I Became A Flashing Genius At The Magic Academy-Chapter 342
"Full Frame, watch out!"
As the wings of light were torn apart and Full Frame plummeted, the celestial beings immediately sent heavenly mana to restore her wings.
*Clang!*
Moments later, a radiant golden shield appeared before Full Frame, blocking a massive scythe emanating a crimson aura. Though the impact forced her to be thrown back considerably, she remained unharmed.
"Are you okay?"
"I’m fine, I think..." she replied, though her stomach churned uneasily. The sudden influx of heavenly mana coursing through her body was overwhelming.
"I-I’m sorry," one of the celestial beings apologized.
"No, it’s fine. Without you, I’d be dead by now," she said, gripping her staff tightly as she glared ahead.
There stood Alpha, the Angel Hunter.
*Angelis...?*
Today was the first time she had even heard of such an entity. Not once was it mentioned in the original novel.
"You called yourself an Angel Hunter... Why? Why do you hunt angels? I can’t understand," Full Frame asked.
Alpha, gripping the enormous black scythe, shrunk it down to the size of a staff and held it in one hand. His voice was cold and unfeeling.
"Does a cat need a reason to hunt mice?"
"...You’re saying you devour angels?"
"My words aren’t finished, angel. You are the mouse. I am the cat. For too long, we’ve lived as prey, trembling in fear and terror."
"What...?"
The mention of angels was rare in history and even scarcer in the original novel. Full Frame couldn’t fully comprehend his words.
"Long ago, the stories of angels and demons invading the surface became nothing more than children’s tales. But the resentment hidden within those truths hasn’t disappeared. It’s etched into souls and passed down, even to me."
"Angels and demons invading..."
Full Frame pressed her lips together tightly. Behind Alpha, a black material suddenly emerged—a single, unmistakable bat-like wing.
*That’s...!*
A demon’s wing. Even though it was only one, there was no mistaking it.
*What’s going on? Answer me!* she demanded through telepathy, directing her thoughts to the celestial beings.
"It’s a misunderstanding!" one of them replied urgently.
"We didn’t invade the surface!"
"In fact... we came to protect it!"
*Then what is this story about?* Full Frame’s mind raced. Whether to protect or invade, someone had been hurt, and now she needed information to navigate this conflict.
"Trust us, Full Frame. Hundreds of years ago... after the progenitor mage left Aether World, demons sought to exploit the dormant power of the Twelve Moons. To stop them, we descended to the surface."
"The Twelve Moons...?"
It was an abrupt and bewildering revelation. Why would demons target the Twelve Moons?
*Fine, but if you protected humanity, then why can’t you descend to the surface now? There are too many gaps in this story!*
There was a pause before one celestial being let out a heavy sigh.
"Some of us... succumbed to the allure of the Twelve Moons' power. What began as an attempt to stop the demons’ greed turned into a desire to claim that power for ourselves."
"But don’t worry! Those traitors were purged and sealed! It will never happen again!"
"You...!" Full Frame clenched her teeth. Why were they only revealing such critical information now? Before she could express her frustration, Alpha spoke.
"The heavens are pouring celestial mana into you," he said, his tone indifferent but piercing.
For a moment, Full Frame froze in shock. No one had ever noticed this before. Alpha’s vacant gaze fixed on the space above her head, as if he were staring straight into the celestial realm.
"It’s peculiar. How did you descend to the surface? Moreover, you look remarkably human."
"I’m not an angel," she replied firmly, raising her palm to summon both fire and ice. "I’m merely someone who can use the magic of angels and everything else in this world."
"Everything else?" Alpha tilted his head curiously. "Does that include demonic magic?"
"That’s..."
Impossible. She had never even considered it. Though she could wield the attributes of all races and even angels, demonic magic was beyond her grasp.
"Then your claim of ‘everything’ is a lie. If you had wielded demonic magic as well, I might have believed you." Alpha leveled his scythe at her.
Clearing up the misunderstanding about her being an angel felt meaningless now that her wings had been revealed. There was no room left for negotiation.
"Fine..."
She racked her brain for a solution, but none came. Alpha’s abilities were at least at the 7th-class level. Though his handling of demonic magic seemed less refined than her use of angelic magic, his overwhelming mana more than compensated for any lack of finesse.
Her combat level barely reached the 5th class. The gap in strength was vast, and no amount of experience or wit could bridge it. She wasn’t ready for this.
*Help...*
For a fleeting moment, Baek Yuseol’s face flashed in her mind. She quickly shook her head. He wasn’t some prince on a white horse who could appear out of nowhere to save her.
She had to resolve this herself.
"Alright. I’m an angel, and you’re a hunter. Let’s fight. But let’s move to another location."
"And why would I agree to that?"
"You claimed you’ve suffered because of the angel-demon war. Do you intend to create more innocent victims?" She gestured toward the civilians nearby.
Alpha scoffed. "A convincing excuse. For the sake of my honor as a member of the Angelis clan, I’ll oblige. But you’ll only be buying yourself a few more moments of life."
She had anticipated this reaction. Exploiting his sense of honor had been her plan all along.
"The location... Illazelin Reverse Mountain," she declared.
Alpha’s expression stiffened for a moment, but his pride wouldn’t let him retract his agreement.
"Fine. But remember, no matter what tricks you attempt, they will be futile."

As Full Frame spread her wings and ascended, Alpha followed. His wings didn’t flap as he flew, appearing more like a symbolic extension than functional limbs.
"I’m doomed..." muttered one civilian, collapsing as Alpha’s oppressive black mana overwhelmed them.
Meanwhile, Full Frame’s friends stared at her retreating form with pale faces.
"Do you think she can win on her own?"
"We have to help her—"
"Can we even do anything? Didn’t you see the magic he used? That’s something only professors could handle. We’d be dead in an instant."
"Besides, Reverse Mountain... It’s impossible to reach that place by normal means..."
Despair filled their faces as they realized their helplessness. At that moment, a single figure stepped forward.
"Angel, where are you going?" one of them asked.
"Stay here. If you follow, I’ll be upset."
"You’re going to help her? But you’ll die if you go there—"
The girl couldn’t finish her sentence, her lips trembling. Angel smiled softly.
"We won’t know until we try. I’m not afraid because someone who makes the impossible possible is by my side."
Despite her brave words, her clenched fists were trembling.
"I owe her too much. As her friend, I have to help," Angel said before summoning icy wings and soaring into the sky.
*I have to find a way to help her...*
---
Flying through the turbulent winds surrounding Reverse Mountain, Angel pushed herself forward. Unlike typical flight magic, which relied on manipulating air currents, her ice magic thrived in the blizzard’s harsh environment.
"Ugh...!"
Even so, the mana storm around Illazelin Reverse Mountain was far beyond what her 5th-class magic could handle. Her strength paled in comparison to the 7th-class power of Alpha, the so-called Angel Hunter.
*There has to be a way,* she thought. Help from Baek Yuseol or Stella Academy wasn’t coming soon enough. It was just her and Full Frame against this impossible situation.
---
Breaking through the dense clouds surrounding the mountain, Angel’s vision suddenly cleared. The stunning beauty of the reversed peak emerged, bathed in eerie stillness. The blizzard that had battered her outside was gone, replaced by a tranquil atmosphere. The air was frigid, piercing her lungs, yet oddly comforting.
"What... is this?" she murmured, raising her hands to examine them.
Her entire body felt... warm. It was a foreign sensation, even for someone attuned to ice magic. This wasn’t merely her magic; it was something else entirely.
Memories of her father, Isaac Morpheus, stirred within her. The warmth was reminiscent of him, of his magic.
*Could it be?*
She gazed at the mountain with her brilliant blue eyes, realizing the truth.
"This entire mountain... it’s my father’s magic."
Isaac Morpheus had left countless legacies, but to think one of them would lead her here. Was it fate? Or coincidence?
It didn’t matter. What mattered now was that they had a chance—a way to turn the tide of this fight.
"If I can use this... we can win."
With renewed determination, Angel prepared to face the storm ahead.
