I Awakened as an SSS-Rank System Maker!-Chapter 60 - Skill Activated
Chapter 60 - Skill Activated
[A new uninhabited zone has been detected... Loading planetary data...]
[System Feature Unlocked: "Full Scan Mode"]
[Would you like to activate Full Scan Mode?]
Lucas stared at the system notification floating before his eyes, its edges flickering with faint golden light.
He hesitated only for a breath.
"Let’s begin the adventure..." he muttered, a faint smile forming at the edge of his lips.
And then—[Activate]
A wave of light surged forward from the screen, rippling across the terrain like a pulse of awareness. In an instant, translucent holographic overlays appeared before him, packed with layers of streaming data.
—Display of Natural Resources
—Detection of Native Lifeforms
—Marking of Hazardous Zones
—Ability to Select First Base Location
Lucas stepped forward, brows raised in awe.
"This planet... it feels untouched. As if we’re the first to ever set foot here."
The system highlighted three locations:
Silver Mist Valley – Shrouded in a perpetual fog that shimmered with hidden minerals. High resource concentration, but surrounded by signs of unknown and possibly predatory lifeforms.
Black Lotus Island – Floating above a dead lake, its soil radiated with rare spiritual energy. Yet the area was sealed by miasmic fields that had corroded previous scout drones within minutes.
Storm Plain – A flat expanse frequently struck by celestial lightning, its soil scarred by time. Violent weather. Hostile terrain. And yet... embedded deep beneath its crust, ancient ruins flickered with unreadable glyphs. Untranslated. Forgotten.
Lucas didn’t hesitate this time.
"We’re taking the Storm Plain."
Darleen raised a brow. "Of course we are."
With a low hum, the system initiated the Base Initialization Protocol. Bright blue rings expanded outward, carving a circular zone into the plain. Moments later, a pillar of light shot into the sky
Boom!
signaling the anchor’s activation.
"Crimson Web Grid: Deploy."
Darleen’s voice was calm, almost musical. Her fingers moved with ritualistic precision. Instantly, blood-colored threads wove themselves into an arcane net, wrapping the perimeter in a protective mesh that shimmered with venomous energy.
Fzzzzz!
The atmosphere around the base warped. The temperature dropped.
A timer blinked above the anchor point:
Base Phase One: Construction - 6 Hours Remaining
They waited, watched, and prepared.
And slowly, brick by brick, the skeleton of their first stronghold rose from the earth.
Command Center.
Resource Storage Gate.
Emergency Summoning Stone.
By the sixth hour, the structures stood like spectral monuments against the raging sky, each radiating with flickering system-bound glyphs.
Lucas and Darleen walked through the outer boundary, inspecting the installations.
"I can’t believe this place actually held together," Lucas said, tapping a panel on the Command Center’s frame. "It looks like it was pulled straight from a dream."
[Alert Triggered!]
[Native Lifeforms Detected – Rank: B+]
[Hostile Creatures Approaching Rapidly...]
The air stiffened. The clouds above, already storm-laced, turned a sharper gray then split open with an otherworldly sound:
Screeeeeech!!
From the bleeding edge of the horizon, shapes emerged huge, elegant, terrifying.
Gigantic crystal-winged beasts tore through the sky like meteors, each flap of their translucent wings casting shimmering reflections across the Storm Plain. They weren’t just beautiful they were lethal. Their screeches emitted pulsing sonic waves that cracked boulders and split trenches into the solid ground.
Booom!!
Rocks exploded in every direction. The ground trembled beneath Lucas’s feet.
Yet, he stood completely still.
Not a twitch. Not a flinch.
His cloak whipped violently in the wind, his hair tousled by the gusts of energy, but his eyes were calm. Focused.
Darleen glanced at him from his side, jaw tight. "They’re sound-based attackers. Probably use frequency to disorient, then dive in for the kill."
Lucas tilted his head, watching the creatures spiral above them like vultures.
Then, with an almost casual air, he said, "Shall we try something different?"
Darleen’s lip curled into a smirk. "Been waiting for you to say that."
Without hesitation, she slammed her palms into the ground. "Crimson Web Activate!"
Shhhhhh!!
Threads of venomous red energy erupted from beneath the soil, lacing through the battlefield in a sprawling net. The pattern glowed faintly at first, then blazed bright as the grid surged to life.
The instant the lead beast descended, its claws met the grid
ZZZZZT!!
It shrieked in pain, halted mid-flight as the venom-laced energy sank into its body. The other creatures reeled back, wings flapping in agitated patterns, but the trap had been sprung.
Lucas’s gaze darkened.
"Now then..."
He lifted one hand.
[Skill Activated: Tyrant’s Presence]
The world stilled.
The very air condensed, like the weight of a mountain had suddenly descended. Invisible pressure crashed outward in waves, bending the tall grass flat. The sky dimmed not from clouds, but from something far more primal. The energy of dominance.
The crystal beasts, once confident and menacing, paused. Their instincts screamed at them to run.
But the leader shrieked defiant and charged.
Too late.
Lucas vanished.
Flash!!
In that blink, he’d used Hand Switch, warping space with expert precision.
He reappeared behind the lead creature, his fingers already glowing with condensed flame.
"Sorry, but you’re out of your depth."
His palm struck directly between the creature’s wings.
Crack!!
A crystal burst rang through the plain. The beast’s core shattered in an instant, its body exploding into a glittering shower of shards and glowing dust.
The others froze.
Just for a moment.
Then Fwoosh!
A shadow descended from the clouds above, parting the smoke like a falling star.
"Started the fight without me?"
The voice was light, playful, and unmistakably smug.
Lucas turned his head upward "Tch. Took your sweet time."
Andre dropped from the sky, landing at the heart of the base with a controlled burst of kinetic force. His gray cloak flared out behind him, his long golden hair caught in the wind like streaks of starlight.
With a casual flick of his wrist, spectral energy spiraled around him, taking the shape of floating swords. Dozens no, hundreds.
Then—
BOOM!!!
The sky turned white.
Swords rained from the heavens in perfect formation. Each one struck with such force that the land cratered beneath them. The beasts didn’t even have time to screech. They were sliced cleanly one by one shattered into crystal fragments that scattered in every direction.
The sonic waves ceased. The battlefield fell silent.
Andre landed softly next to them, brushing imaginary dust off his shoulder.
"SS-rank isn’t just for show, after all..."
