I Am Your Natural Enemy-Chapter 470 - 193: My Name, I Let You Laugh (5k)
Wen Yan scratched his head. Could she directly mention what he wants? Does she have some sort of mind-reading ability?
No sooner had this thought crossed his mind than the elderly woman sitting on the stone stool chuckled.
"You were thinking so loudly, how could I not know."
"Ah..." Wen Yan gasped in surprise.
"You still don’t know where you are, do you?" the old lady pointed to the stone stool beside her. "Come, sit down and let’s talk."
Wen Yan was somewhat hesitant, but he could sense very clearly that the stone stool posed no threat to him.
He hesitated for a moment, then sat down. As soon as he did, a wave of warmth washed over him. The stone stool felt as if it had been warmed by the Sun, making it especially comfortable to sit on in the midday winter air.
Moreover, this warmth gave him a very familiar feeling.
After thinking carefully, he suddenly realized that this feeling was his Yang Energy!
An epiphany rose in his heart.
This is a dream, he realized. I’ve been drawn into one. No, that’s not quite right. I actively sought this out, and then someone drew me into their dream.
He looked at the thin, benevolent-looking elderly woman, a little shocked. Someone can actually draw me into a dream?
The old lady sized up Wen Yan with a warm smile.
"Young man, remember, if you enter a dream, the first thing to do is remember who you are.
"Then recall how you got here, and you’ll understand that you are actually in a dream.
"At that moment, you can wake up within the dream.
"To do anything, you must first wake up in the dream.
"That way, when you awaken, you’ll remember what happened in the dream."
"I understand," Wen Yan said respectfully. Then, he tentatively asked, "May I ask who you are?"
"My granddaughter’s name is Chen Qimo."
Wen Yan straightened up immediately, his expression turning solemn as he bowed.
So this is Grandma herself.
He now understood why she had asked him to sit on the stone stool. It was his Yang Energy, no doubt about it—the very Yang Energy he had used in the Blessing for Chen Qimo. This was her way of revealing her identity.
Now he understood how Grandma could contact him: it was by using his Yang Energy.
He looked up at the courtyard gate. It was an iron door facing the main road, with a few steps leading up to it. The entire house was built on a raised foundation, elevated above the road surface.
The style of this bungalow suggested it was at least several decades old. Most of the surrounding houses were two-story buildings, a common sight in the sparsely-raining north. The nearby trees were also species typical of the region.
"Sit down and chat. Don’t be such a stranger," Grandma said, gesturing for Wen Yan to relax.
"I merely wanted to try, not expecting to actually find you. I hope you don’t mind my sudden intrusion. I was truly forced to; I couldn’t find anyone else trustworthy and capable enough to help."
"Grandma, you’re the one being too distant now. If there’s anything you need, just give the word. Don’t talk about ’helping’ or not; you should just tell me directly what needs to be done."
Grandma laughed so hard her dentures nearly fell out. Gradually, her smile faded, and she shook her head with a helpless expression.
"I want to ask you to take my granddaughter away," she began, her voice tinged with worry. "It’s become very unsafe here.
"She’s already been targeted by some ghostly thing.
"Those Descendants have discovered my granddaughter, and they definitely won’t give up on her.
"I can’t protect her any longer."
Upon hearing that it was just this request, Wen Yan nodded readily.
"Alright, that’s simple. I’ll go right away. I was already planning to make a trip there soon anyway."
"Thank you. When the time comes, you don’t need to take anything else. Just bring everything from the altar table in the small house."
"Alright, I’ll go now to avoid letting things drag on and lead to complications."
Wen Yan stood up, ready for immediate action, and turned to leave without hesitation.
Grandma watched Wen Yan’s retreating figure, somewhat astonished. Eventually, a smile touched her lips, and her whole demeanor seemed to relax.
Just from the Yang Energy, she could sense the sincerity contained within the Yang Energy from the Blessing Wen Yan had performed for Chen Qimo.
She just hadn’t expected Wen Yan to be so agreeable.
Wen Yan moved through the mist, not particularly concerned about any compensation.
If it were someone else asking for his help, especially with compensation involved, he would definitely confirm the details first.
But since it was Grandma, he didn’t feel the need to ask. Whether there was any compensation or not didn’t matter to him.
He had personally enabled Grandma’s ability through his Blessing, and he could sense its genuine nature very clearly.
It was a small favor, hardly a big deal.
When he returned from the mist and opened his eyes, he saw several people sitting in the room.
Seventh Great-Uncle Master and Eighth Uncle-Master Ancestor were there. Gauss was also present, sitting on a chair with a can of iced Happy Water, condensation beading on its surface and dripping steadily.
Wen Yan quickly sat up.
Seventh Great-Uncle Master leaned in and scrutinized Wen Yan for a while.
"Why were you sleeping so soundly? I was worried something had happened to you. Gauss said you were astral-projecting."
Wen Yan stood up to greet them, but Seventh Great-Uncle Master waved his hand.
"First, tell us what happened."
"Someone entrusted me with a dream, asking for a small favor."
"Entrusted you with a dream?" Seventh Great-Uncle Master looked puzzled.
Eighth Uncle-Master Ancestor also wore a strange expression.
"What’s wrong?" Wen Yan was confused.
"Ordinary Ghosts don’t possess such an ability. You’re a Martial Artist, and your Yang Energy far surpasses that of an ordinary Martial Artist. Even the Dream-Entering Technique of Mount Mao might not be able to enter your dreams.
"I suspect you were overly exhausted and let your guard down, which gave them the opportunity.
"It’s best to treat everything in that dream as illusory. Anyone you met could have been an illusion. These things are very mysterious; you must be cautious."
