Chapter 71: Amazing

"Ravi!" Arlen called out, his voice laced with concern, "You are doing it again."

That feeling that someone is in front of you and yet is not present. It was not unusual, but with Ravi, it was scary. He felt one day, not only would be mentally absent but physically absent.

Ravi suddenly disappearing, Arlen did not entertain that thought at all. He had never had a friend like this before, someone who he didn’t have to work to keep the conversation going, someone who made his entire body just feel at peace whenever he was near him.

He pulled those two cheeks together with a smile.

"Whatch..yow..doing?’’Ravi was brought back the moment his cheeks were pulled. Arlen was so close to him, those blue eyes staring down at him aggrieved.

Ravi also felt aggrieved. Why did he move? Leaning against the wall, he was as pretty as a picture. He thought back to the image, he really felt as if...

"Ouch..."The pressure against his cheeks increased and he refocused on Arlen. The grievances in those eyes were as deep as Mount Nile. One would think that he stole his farmland and his inheritance.

Arlen released his cheeks at once, "If you get distracted when I am in front of you. I would..." he hesitated, faltering a bit before his eyes shone, "I will punish you."

Those words and the low voice sent a pleasant shudder of arousal down Ravi’s spine and he froze, pulling away immediately. His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.

Arlen misinterpreted the signal and he also moved back, raising his hand, "Did I scare you? I am sorry. I was joking. I would not make such jokes in the future."

Ravi rubbed his neck, "No, it is okay." The words seemed to spring from the sandpaper in his mouth. He needed to visit a club one of these days and get laid. There was a little guilt in his heart when he thought about the thoughts that had crossed his mind because of this person.

There was an awkward silence that made Ravi feel as if he was standing on needles. Did he need to have such an overt reaction because of a few words? Now...

After a minute, he looked up and caught Arlen smiling at him. The other did not look away but smiled even wider when he saw him looking at him.

"What is it, Captain?"

Arlen cocked his head, "Your expressions are always interesting to watch."

Ravi raised an eyebrow, "Are you teasing me again, Captain?"

Arlen shook his head, "I mean it. Heaven..."

Ravi did not know how he moved, he covered Arlen;s lips with his right hand. His eyes were wide and panicked, An immortal was right next door. Alright, an incarnation. But swearing to Heaven in an immortal’s presence was always a bad idea.

His lashes were really long, when you look at them up close and his lips, those lips were smooth and warm against his hand.

Ravi realized the position he was in and his cheeks turned red. He took his hand away and struggled to explain, but the explanation did not come forth as he wished. He sighed weakly, "Captain. Don’t swear."

Arlen looked down at him, "Then call my name."

"En?"

"If you don’t, I would swear." His eyes were amused.

He was teasing him again, "You!"

"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. That does not sound like my name."

Ravi’s eyes narrowed and focused on him. There was no expression on his face and the anger in his eyes said everything he did not say, it reminded Arlen, of the first day that they met but he did not move back, he just smiled, "Heaven.."

"Arlen." Ravi squeezed the word out.

"I did not hear it." He brought his ear closer.

"Arlen. Just come closer and I would bite that ear out." He did not know when those childish words left his mouth and he used one hand to cover his lips. He gave Arlen a sharp look and headed towards the kitchen.

Arlen who was laughing stopped and jogged after Ravi, "Don’t be angry. Don’t be angry. I won’t tease you anymore."

Ravi subconsciously looked down at the hand that had been covering Arlen’s mouth, he could still reminisce about the warmth that had been there a minute ago.

"What do you want to cook? Is it okay if I join?" Arlen said as he entered the kitchen. The last time, he did not really look around but now he did. It was large with a working place and two chairs in the middle. The kitchen was very airy with two large windows and a door that opened up to the backyard. He looked around, he could just tell that Ravi spent a lot of time in this place.

There was a speaker on the counter and a large bowl of fruits was next to it. Ah! Grapes. And some Jujubes. He had not had these since he was young. He took one and closed his eyes, it was so delicious.

The way he sucked those fruits. Ravi looked away.

’We are having some noddles. Is that okay?" He turned away and opened the door to the garden.

Arlen nodded, then saw that Ravi was not looking at him, "Okay."

He followed Ravi into the garden. The sky was dark with few stars but the light from the house reflected in the garden in front of him. The winding stone path led to a well-tended vegetable path that stretched ahead, lettuce, tomatoes, carrots, and so many other vegetables. He walked in further, looking left and right.

There was a small compost bin to the right, not far from it was the strawberry bush filled with red-blooming fruits, small and juicy. That strawberry he planted it, that means, he looked further. He could not see very well, past the small white fence.

"Is that an orchard?" He asked, his tone filled with surprise and wonder.

Ravi was snipping some leeks for the noodle soup when he heard Arlen’s voice, he looked up, "Yes, that is my orchard." After putting in a few vegetables, he stood up, only to see Arlen still looking at him.

"What is it?"

"Ravi, you are amazing. You are the most extraordinary person I have ever met, Ravi. So amazing." His eyes were as resplendent as stars, like he was staring at something so special, it was unreal.

Ravi was flabbergasted.
