I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 225: Agatha
Chapter 225: Agatha
They asked many of the restaurant workers but they all claimed that they could not remember. The three of them left the first restaurant, the second, the third, and the fourth restaurant.
"Ah! Isn’t this that woman who poured Agatha that mint tea? I will never forget that face. It is her, I know." One of the waiters in the fourth restaurant said when she was shown the picture. The waiter was in her early thirties with her brown hair in a bun, she wore black trousers with a classic white shirt.
She had been smiling at them but the moment she saw the picture, her expression changed to cold disdain.
"You said she poured mint tea on another waiter?" Arlen asked as Ravi took down notes. This was the opposite of how Mary Taylor had been described by everyone including her employees. She was not the kind of person to look down on someone from a different wealth class.
"Do you think I am lying? I do not easily forget people. Wait here!" The waiter left them in the room that the Manager had told them that they could use for approximately 15 minutes after Arlen had threatened that he would stand in front of the establishment in the nicest voice possible.
The waiter who had left returned with two other waiters. One of them immediately cut everyone’s eyes. She was pretty, in that kind of doe-eyed way that agitated one desire to protect. She had her sandy blonde hair in a bun but unlike others, two small blonde strands framed her face perfectly. Her green eyes were large and when she looked at Arlen, it was almost wet and soft.
Expect that Ravi could feel a calculating coldness in those soft eyes. He rubbed his forehead; he was getting jealous again.
"Meg, do you remember this person? That lady that ordered panzerotti di funghi al burro-fried mushroom pastries and threw tea on Agatha."
The second woman slapped her hand on her lap, "Yes. It was six months ago, not five; it was during Lucy’s birthday month, right? She just poured tea on Agatha; Poor Agatha was crying and did not say a word to her. What a wicked woman, what happened to her? Did she commit a crime, she probably did it if you ask me. Someone like her is probably very evil in reality."
For the next ten minutes, the two of them disparaged the woman in all sorts of ways, claiming that they could have sued if not for the restaurant policy that they could not sue clients so they used this opportunity to vent their feelings but neither of the two of them could remember the man.
The manager, a man in his late fifties entered the room, "Officers, are you done? They need to continue their work."
Arlen looked at him, "They can go but we need to interview Miss Agatha here a little more."
The manager bit his lips and looked at three of them, especially Arlen, "Alright, fine. Ten more minutes, officer."
The young woman looked longingly at the door but it slammed shut. She then smiled at Arlen, "Is there anything that I could help you with Officer? I would do anything to help you if I can" She asked, batting her, it was the first time she was speaking, even when the older waitress had been venting on her behalf, she had stood there like a bullied flower with shifty eyes.
Ravi might not have gone to the Police Academy but he had enough common sense to know that she was hiding something.
"Miss Agatha. Have a seat." Arlen said, there was no smile on his face, on the contrary, his voice was soft and menacing, eyes narrowing. "Miss Mary Taylor has been confirmed dead. In our investigation, you are the only one that had a conflict with her.’
The woman sat down with a plop, "Dead...she is dead."
Arlen nodded to Draco, who placed a picture in front of the waiter. It was not one of the most gritty ones but a picture of the covered-up corpse with only her face showing.
The cold calculation in the woman’s eyes faded immediately and her face paled, a film of sweat on her upper lips, she stared back and forth between the three of them, "Are you suspecting me? I just met her once. I do not... I did not know anything about her death,"
"They said she poured tea on you."
"That...That was my fault."
"What happened on her day? Don’t leave anything out from when you met Mary Taylor." Ravi asked as he held the pen to the paper.
Faced with their strict stares, she did not attempt to hide anything anymore. She confessed everything that happened on that day.
Mary Taylor had been sweet and polite to her when she was serving them but she tried to flirt with her date.
"You know this is a good place. I know a few friends that started dating people they met at work and now, we are no longer on the same level so I just wanted to try my luck. He was looking at me so I just...It is not as if they are married. There is no ring on her finger." She defended herself hotly.
The three of them did not begin to debate the morality of trying to flirt with someone who was in a relationship, although Ravi gave her a particularly stern look as he moved closer to Arlen.
"What do you know about the man that came with her? Do you have his ID number or any other information?"
"No. I am sure he would have given it to me but the woman just went crazy. She swore at me and poured a cup of tea on me before she left with him."
"Can you verbally describe him?"
Agatha hesitated and then recalled, "He looked around thirty years old. He was wearing a T-shirt and trousers, I don’t remember what color but I know his wristwatch and shoes were very expensive. I have heard about the brand."
Draco raised the tablet containing the pictures of the luxurious items that Mary Taylor had purchased for her mystery partner. "Could this be them?"
Agatha peered at the pictures and nodded, "Yes, Palvio. It cost more than 8,000 dollars to get one."
"Continue."
"He was very handsome; he had brown hair and green eyes. Those green eyes were the first thing I noticed; they were gleaming and very gentle."
"How about his height, His build?"
They asked her more questions until they collected enough information from her. Arlen stood up and looked at her, "Miss Agatha, this involves a criminal case, please don’t leave Alstria for now. If we need your cooperation, we will contact you again."
