I Am the Sweetheart of Mr. CEO-Chapter 606: No More Than Five Seconds
Kris Cooper smiled, "Grandma, this isn’t a Marriage Certificate, it’s a marriage proof. Later, Vera and I will go get the Marriage Certificate."
To make a foreign marriage proof effective, there are many procedures to handle; this cannot serve as a legal marriage proof.
"Oh, I see, well... well!" Grandma Wave laughed and said, "Still need to get the Marriage Certificate, it’s good, the red color is festive."
As she spoke, she patted the photos on her knees.
"Oh, all these children have grown up, and Grandma is just old now!"
Vera shifted her gaze and saw a photo album on Grandma Wave’s lap. In the photos, Grandma Wave sat gracefully on a grand chair, with Vera and Nathan Leafcastle snuggled on each side of her, smiling.
Staring at the photo, she once again recalled past memories, her brow slightly furrowed.
Opposite, Kris Cooper noticed her expression, and his amber eyes showed a hint of deep color.
"Dinner is ready, would everyone like to eat?"
Aunt Fen came in to inform everyone about dinner, and Grandma Wave put down the album, pulling the two of them to dine together.
After dinner, Vera chatted with the elderly lady for a good while, helping her bathe, and clipped her nails... She settled the elderly lady to sleep before leaving the room.
As she stepped outside, she saw Kris Cooper lounged lazily against the porch pillar, exhaling a gray-blue smoke ring.
She walked over, reached out to disperse his smoke ring, raised her hand, and took the cigarette from his mouth.
"Didn’t you say your throat wasn’t feeling well, so why are you smoking?"
Taking the cigarette away from her hand, tossing it into the trash can, Kris Cooper slowly spoke.
"I’ve thought it over, we should go for a visit!"
"Where to?"
Vera asked in confusion.
Kris Cooper gave her an eye roll.
"Where else, of course to President Barker’s engagement banquet."
Her face immediately lit up with joy.
"Really?"
Actually, she really wanted to go, but was afraid he would be upset, so she didn’t dare to bring it up much.
"It’s impolite not to reciprocate, and they’ve sent things over, not going to return gifts would make Kris Cooper appear stingy." Kris Cooper shrugged, "Our family isn’t short of money, I’ve already checked, those things are only worth eighty to one hundred thousand, we’ll return ten times the gifts."
Of course, that’s just one small reason.
If it were purely to return gifts, just sending any gift would be enough. He agreed to go completely to make Vera happy.
He knew Vera feared owing others favors.
He’s heard her mention Nathan Leafcastle’s matters a lot, if she didn’t go this time, she’d surely feel guilty inside.
Listening to the man’s proud words, Vera burst into laughter.
"Then it’s decided, we’ll go together on Saturday."
"I also need to make it clear." Kris Cooper pulled back his lazy demeanor, speaking dominantly, "No hugging him."
The girl puckered her little lips, "Then is shaking hands alright?" 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
The man furrowed his brow, "Not for more than five seconds!"
"Yes, Your Majesty." She giggled, hugging his arm, "Your Highness, can we retire now?"
The man smiled again, pinching her little nose, "Seeing you behave so well, I’ll favor you tonight."
They walked together to the bedroom, Kris Cooper spoke again.
"Tomorrow morning, we’ll first go to the Civil Affairs Bureau, get the Marriage Certificate before heading to work."
