I am the Ruler of the Kingdom of Mysterious-Chapter 411 - 375: Paper Macher
Sang Que asked Xia Chan to guard outside while she entered the painting.
In Taoyuan Village, there are many houses used to imprison ghosts, and the Paper Macher is in one of them.
The village is on a hillside; the courtyard at the highest point used to be Wuyou’s residence, where Sang Que keeps her various belongings.
Including a shotgun, bullet-making tools, books, some Southern Ocean coffin nails, corpse oil, gasoline, and firecrackers.
Sang Que placed the embroidered shoes on the dresser in the bedroom, along with the red veil and phoenix hairpin of the Deceitful Bride, which the Yin Child stripped bare without waste.
There are also two flags from the Martial Artist, containing two Fourth Layer Paperman Ghost Slaves, ready to be taken to the Opera House along with the Skinning Master and three other ghosts for a performance.
Sang Que suddenly remembered that the Big Gate Saber accumulates bad luck as a side effect, so she merged it with the Opera House, essentially treating it as a yin object merged with Old Tian.
Old Tian is the Opera House’s manager, and the Big Gate Saber became Old Tian’s weapon, hoping the bad luck wouldn’t affect her.
Just like the embroidered shoes worn by the Yin Child, who remains unaffected.
After organizing her belongings, Sang Que walked to the house in Taoyuan Village where the Paper Macher is imprisoned.
The doors and windows of the house are covered with intertwined arms belonging to the Door Ghost, which are already fused with the painting, making them unusable separately.
She previously asked the Yin Child to try to dismember a Door Ghost from a house, but all attempts failed.
As the owner of the painting, Sang Que shouted "Open Gate" at the door, causing the intertwined arms to separate, and she released the Yin Child to enter the house ahead.
Following the Martial Artist, the Paper Macher is one step away from the fifth layer, while the Yin Child has already reached the fifth layer, enough to suppress the Paper Macher.
After the Yin Child entered, it appeared behind the Paper Macher, who sensed it and shed numerous white paper scraps that swirled towards the Yin Child.
A mocking smile rose in the Yin Child’s eyes, and it shouted the word ’Freeze’.
The Paper Macher and the flying paper scraps were immediately immobilized by an invisible force, maintaining a bearded opera singing posture.
The entire ghost of the Paper Macher has the texture of a Paperman from inside out, with a face painted in various colors, black long paper mustache, and dressed in martial artist’s opera costume. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
Sang Que currently lacks the sufficient trigram to imprint the Mountain Ghost Seal on the Paper Macher. Using the Mountain Ghost Seal is the safest way. Even if the ghost is stronger than her, once the seal is imprinted, it must comply.
Fortunately, she has now entered the fifth layer and has suppressive power over the Fourth Layer peak Paper Macher; using the Ghost Slave Seal temporarily will do.
After the fifth layer, the number of Ghost Slave Seals she can imprint will surely increase; having one more Paper Macher Ghost Slave won’t affect her control over the Red Ghost and numerous Zombies.
After handling things here, she plans to gather enough trigrams in the Deceit Dynasty to imprint the Mountain Ghost Seal on the Paper Macher and find a way to elevate it to the fifth layer.
After Sang Que imprinted the Ghost Slave Seal on the Paper Macher, it became completely obedient.
Sang Que recalled during a battle with the Martial Artist on stage, one of the Paper Macher’s abilities was to create many paper scraps, wrapping them around humans or ghosts to transform them into Paperman Ghost Slaves.
Sang Que beckoned to the Yin Child, who returned into her body, and she surveyed the Paper Macher with her Ghost Eye, probing for other abilities it possessed.
Moments later, Sang Que tilted her head and closed her eyes, squeezing between her eyes to relieve the pressing sensation.
This Paper Macher has quite a few abilities; aside from ’paper scraps,’ it has two more.
One is ’Paperman Substitute,’ allowing the creation of several Paperman Ghost Slaves identical to itself; during unavoidable attacks, it can instantly swap places with them.
Sang Que remembered during her fight with the Martial Artist, covered by the Deceitful Bride’s veil, the Martial Artist used this ability to swap places with a nearby Martial Artist Ghost Slave.
The creation of this Ghost Slave is simple, by using paper scraps to transform other ghosts or people into Paperman, and enhancing them with its own blood to make them into Paperman Ghost Slaves identical to itself.
With Sang Que’s current level, she can create and store five, but can release only two at a time.
The third ability should be called ’Paper Mache.’ By providing Paper Macher with paper infused with incense odor, Paper Macher can craft Papermen, paper horses, paper houses, and various paper mache objects.
After sundown, by burning them, the paper mache objects can become real and usable, but will self-destruct after dawn, serving as disposable items.
Papers with incense odor are not hard to find; storyteller uses one type, students donate paper to schools, and ordinary people give Yellow Paper when offering incense at Taoist Temples and sanctuaries.
Daoist talisman painting and Monk sutra copying use this kind of paper.
Mom also has some school papers; perhaps Paper Macher can try crafting a flower sedan for the Five Ghosts to use at night.
After confirming Paper Macher’s abilities, Sang Que led it to the fields of Taoyuan, where five hundred White-haired Zombies are buried, collected from Dongyang County earlier, with the Red Ghost standing under a peach tree, its crimson robes covered with pink petals.
Jumping Corpse corresponds to the fourth layer, with the next step being ’Flying Corpse,’ becoming light as a swallow, leaping through the air, undying and unperishable, immensely strong, immune to water, fire, and blades.
No longer needing to bite and suck blood, Flying Corpse directly absorbs souls, and anyone nearing it quickly contracts corpse poison, passing it on to others.
Given the Red Ghost’s uniqueness, if it becomes a Flying Corpse, those infected by its corpse poison might instantly transform into Black Zombies.
However, Sang Que is uncertain about what is needed for the Red Ghost’s advancement. Without independent thought, the Red Ghost cannot communicate; its advancement doesn’t follow typical zombie progression.
Putting aside that notion, Sang Que directed the Paper Macher to release paper scraps, parchment over the White-haired Zombies before her, eventually converting them into Paper Mache Men, bleak and colorless.
Martial Artist, made into Paperman Ghost Slave flags, was meticulously selected with fourth-layer strength, capable of substituting and fighting.
Now, Sang Que had Paper Macher transform the White-haired Zombies, which were only at the second level.
Sang Que attempted to control these Papermen, realizing they were lifeless, unable to move.
A brief thought made her realize Paper Macher required souls, not corpses; zombie bodies lack souls, making them lifeless as Papermen.
Only ghosts and human souls, spiritual entities, can be converted into controllable and substitutable Papermen by Paper Macher.
Unable, Sang Que resigned from making Papermen substitutes early, leaving Paper Macher in the painting with the Red Ghost standing under the peach tree.
No sooner did Sang Que exit the painting, Xia Chan suddenly held a poisonous snake to her face, seeking commendation.
"Sister, look at this snake, so fat! It must taste good grilled!"
Sang Que jerked back startled by the snake in her face, and then chuckled.
"Little Chan, in my hometown, you can’t harm wild animals casually; you might eat prison food!"
Xia Chan’s eyes lit up, "What’s prison food? Little Chan hasn’t had it, is it tasty?"
Sang Que was speechless and was about to speak, but caught sight of a shadow like a Mountain Ghost grabbing a filthy mud-covered, backpack-carrying ghost, gnawing and tearing fervently.
"Little Chan, was there anything unusual outside just now?"
Xia Chan frowned, glanced around, "It seemed there was, but it vanished quickly."
Sang Que glanced up; she might still be under surveillance by the Storyteller Circle. But now a Earth Ghost shadowed her vicinity; whatever antics the Storyteller Circle might try, it wouldn’t pass the Earth Ghost’s watch.
Perhaps she should purposely agitate the Storyteller Circle, trying to let the Earth Ghost handle the presence behind?
