I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 355: Patricus
Before Everia, Siderius had made a few useful tonic to go. Some were healing. Some were specialists in dealing with unique creatures.
What he just drank was a pure combat tonic. It was Muscle Reinforcement.
This tonic would make his muscle more durable, resistant to tearing and tiring, allowing him to stay in combat for much longer.
Siderius threw the bottle on the snow and wiped his mouth. "I knew something was going to happen sooner or later."
He didn’t stay behind because he wanted to save Damien. Damien for him was no different than a stranger. He stayed behind because he could see the line of fate connecting to him.
Whatever Fate was planning, this was its first move.
It wasn’t a bad thing either because Siderius’ Karma was very positive. So potentially, this would lead to something good.
Siderius just had to finish the journey to receive that reward.
The cavalry arrived at the scene. They saw a tall swordsman with his sword already drawn. He plunged the sword on the snow and rested his wrists on its guard.
The swordsman had long white hair. In this weather, his hair looked like those of Argentius, one of the enemies of Glacirium.
He wore an iron mask that hid his entire face.
Patricus rode his horse forward and stopped quite a distance away from Siderius but enough to converse.
Patricus was an old man with grey hair and a full grey beard. He wore a full suit of armor with a broad belly that made him look like a drunkard.
Patricus looked down upon Siderius and shouted, "State your name, Argentius!"
Siderius lifted his head up, "I am not an Argentius."
Patricus squinted his eyes, "No matter you are or are not one of them. Tell me your business in Glacirium."
"Just a lone wanderer." Siderius said.
Patricus looked behind Siderius and saw the horse prints on the snow.
"Now I know you’re lying. Recently, the North has lost a prisoner. He has the same color hair as yours and no right hand. Have you seen him?"
"Never saw him." Siderius shook his head.
"If that’s how you really want to do it..." Patricus raised his fist. The calvaries rode forwards slowly.
"There is still time to reconsider. Do you want to die here?" Patricus shouted.
"I am not going to die here."
Siderius raised his sword. The gold flame enveloped the Blazing Soul entirely. "Come."
"Heh. A second rank Spirit Swordsman. But how can you fare against all my men? Kill him!" Patricus waved his hand.
The calvaries bolted at Siderius at the same time. Their horses were armored and each of them had a long lance pointing forward. Anything stood in front of them would be crushed.
Siderius flexed his left hand. The golden bracer appeared.
After he ascended to Gold Alchemist, his bracer also transformed from silver into gold. He also had time on this journey to add new Sigils into his empty slots.
Siderius drew a new Sigil into the air. This one was called Anemo. It was one of Siderius’ two new sigils, along with Desino.
The first cavalry reached him and aimed the long lance at Siderius’ chest. The sigil of Anemo lingered in the air and was illuminating.
"Anemo!"
A forceful gust of wind shot out from the sigil and push the calvary off his horse. His lance fell off and he rolled a few times on the ground.
"Magic? Be careful! It is a witch!" The calvary shouted.
"How can a witch use Spirit Art?" Patricus mumbled to himself.
This time, three calvaries rushed at Siderius at the same time. The witch hunter lowered his body and poured his willpower into his legs.
He didn’t use his mutation because it wasn’t needed yet. Willpower could reinforce your body and allow it to do supernatural feats just as well.
Siderius shot up to the sky and landed on top of the three cavalry. His flaming gold sword drew a curve in the air, slamming at the helmet of the calvaries and pushing them off their horses.
Siderius landed his feet on a horse and took control of it.
He quickly got out of the formation of the calvaries before turning back and facing them. His flaming gold sword illuminated in the snowstorm. It was the most noticeable thing in this thick layer of white.
The calvaries slowed down. They circled around him but did not attack yet. They knew Siderius wasn’t weak.
"Charge!" Patricus shouted from behind.
They rushed at Siderius at the exact same time and from all directions.
Siderius raised his sword in front of his face. He closed his eyes and channeled his willpower. Blazing Soul became even brighter. However, it rang in Siderius’ hands. Dull Steel was too weak to withstand this type of energy.
"Bear with me, old friend." Siderius mumbled.
He purposefully made the energy in the sword thinner so that it would not kill, only hurt.
Siderius swirled the sword around him, creating a golden ring that blasted to the surrounding. All the calvaries were pushed backwards by the thin line of the gold ring. Most fell off their horses and only a few managed to stay on top.
Their attack was neutralized with one single move from Siderius.
Siderius swung his sword. A large sword beam shot at Patricus and slammed at him. Before the beam was able to penetrate Patricus, Siderius withdrew the force.
Patricus fell onto the snow. Siderius showed him mercy but it still hurt him good. His chest was in enormous pain and he coughed out a lot of blood.
The masked white hair swordsman flicked his sword. The golden flame disappeared, leaving only the cracked Blazing Soul.
Siderius shook his head while looking at it, "I need to reforge you soon, old friend."
The witch hunter then looked at Patricus, "I do not want to kill you. Do not give me a reason to. I don’t know who you’re looking for. I’ve never met him and I have nothing to do with you or the North.
You guessed correctly. I am a witch from Eldoria and I am returning to my country now. Do not make another enemy for your newborn kingdom, Glacirium."
Siderius took the horse and rode away in the snow, leaving Patricus staring in place.
"Are you alright, my lord?"
His men came to check on him, Patricus could only say one sentence before fainting.
"Bring me back to Chimonopolis."
