I Am The Only Witch Hunter-Chapter 299: Alatus
In the warehouse, Siderius finalized the finishing touch for the Gargoyle’s head. He put in two large sapphires as its eyes.
"It’s time to put it on, George." Siderius said.
"Alright, boys. Haul it up!"
The workers carried the head onto a cart and pushed it out to the scaffolding. Under Siderius’ guidance, they built a simple contraption with a pulley and lifted the head up high.
"Slowly. Slowly." George shouted.
The head was carefully attached to the neck where Siderius used a special mixture as glue.
"Now. It’s time to wake it up."
Siderius stood on the scaffolding, at the center of the Gargoyle’s chest. He drew upon it three seals.
Structure Reinforcement, a Salt Seal. This seal would connect all the parts of the Gargoyle and turn it into one seamless body.
Artificial Spirit, a Mercury Seal. Mercury affects the gate of spirit. This seal did not grant a ’true’ spirit to the Gargoyle but rather, an artificial consciousness, which would guarantee the Gargoyle will have basic understanding of command and its purpose.
The last was the most important. Soul Fire, a Sulfur Seal. This granted it a purpose. A purpose which would dictate all of the Gargoyle’s actions.
The three seals lit up in colors. Three interconnected seals that overlayed on each other. Soul fueled its spirit. Spirit gained strength to its body.
The two sapphire eyes lit up in blue and the Gargoyle stood up.
All the workers ran away in fear. The Gargoyle was already three meters tall. When it stood up, it was almost five meters.
"Who is my Master?" The Gargoyle spoke. It had teeth but no throat. Its mouth opened but its lips did not move.
"Your sole and only Master is me, Siderius Snow Satterblade."
"What is my purpose?" The Gargoyle spoke again.
"To guard Santa Roberto and protect its people."
The Gargoyle looked down at Siderius. It slowly lowered its body and kneeled.
"Your wish is my command, Master."
"Go."
The Gargoyle nodded. Its spread its wings but those wings could not fly.
The Gargoyle looked at its wings with a confused look.
Siderius chuckled. "You are not whole yet."
Siderius then walked around the scaffolding and approached the Gargoyle’s back.
"Give me the wings."
The wings of the Chaos Bat. They were much smaller than the Gargoyle’s wings. But that didn’t matter. What was valuable inside the wings was their essence.
George ordered people to bring out the wings. They were also treated through a precise Alchemical process. In it flowed the energy of True, Dark, and Light Aethers.
Siderius grabbed the wings and placed it on the Gargoyle’s back. A seal lit up on the spine of the wings.
Suddenly, it stuck onto the Gargoyle’s back and disappeared.
The color of the Gargoyle changed. It turned from its pure white color of statue to a dark bronze color. And its wings grew claws and veins.
"Now you can go." Siderius said.
The Gargoyle flapped its wings. It took off to the sky.
Everyone in Snowfell remembered that day. The day the dark winged protector of Snowfell first took flight.
It had the color of bronze and was as big as a tower of the castle. It had become the symbol of all Snowfell.
Lord Snow had named it Alatus.
Once Alatus had taken its flight around Snowfell, it returned to Santa Roberto and placed itself into an altar that Siderius had built for it.
It would become more than just a simple protector. It would gather the belief and faith of everyone in Santa Roberto, it would become the anchor of Fate and create its own Light Aether.
That would become its fuel. The more it had, the more powerful it would become.
However, its mind would never grow. Only a golem could do that. A Gargoyle’s sole purpose was to serve its master and fulfil its function.
Erin stood on a porch and observed the giant statue in awe. She had seen many types of puppet. But she knew for sure Alatus was something else.
It didn’t have the usual corruption of Mana.
Siderius returned from the courtyard. He was still wearing a sculptor outfit with an apron in the front. His hands were covered in clay and plastered.
He went past Erin and nodded at her.
"You really are unpredictable, Snow."
Siderius didn’t answer. He just smiled and left.
’With the construction of Alatus, Santa Roberto now has its own secret weapon. If any witch dares to attack my domain, they would not leave unscathed. Now it was time for my own power.’
Erin gave Siderius all of the Heart Rose Extracts she had, which was around twenty bottles. Siderius could try and graft the werewolf ears now.
He took the afternoon off and rested peacefully in the night, making sure his mind was in its best condition.
Tomorrow early morning.
Siderius sat in his quarters with the pair of werewolf ears already integrated in Mercury. In front of him were the Heart Rose Extracts.
"My maximum Psychosis is 200. When I grafted the Vampire Eyes, it jumped to 243 and caused a Mutation Collapse.
A werewolf is a much more deranged creature compared to a vampire. Theoretically speaking, the Psychosis this time will be greater than the vampire."
Siderius made two precise incisions on the earlobes. He then raised the two ears onto his ears. The Mercury ball jumped into the wound and started to integrate with Siderius’ biology.
He closed his eyes and waited for the Psychosis. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
It came in abundance.
Siderius slammed his hands onto the ground as his mouth started to raise and become a snout. His teeth grew sharper and hair appeared on his face.

Siderius grabbed the Heart Rose Extracts and poured it into his mouth. The calming nature of it immediately reduced the Psychosis.

Eight bottles of Heart Rose Extracts later, Siderius’ mutations were under control. He stopped transforming. His teeth shortened. The extra hair fell off of his face. His mouth returned to its original state.
His ears, however, had changed forever. He used to have a pair of pointy ears. Now, it had two dark streaks running along his earlobes.
He had succeeded in grafting another supernatural creature.
