I Am the Only Fertile Woman in the Game-Chapter 158 - Return
Chapter 158: Chapter 158: Return
Chapter 158 -158: Return
Qiao Suisui was carried down by Zong Fang, wrapped in a man’s coat, her tiny form curled up in his arms, unnatural in her walk today due to yesterday’s ordeal.
Ruka saw this scene without surprise, merely exchanging a glance with Leberli, observing his unmistakable discontent. His gaze lingered and when Carl appeared last, Ruka paused briefly.
Carl, hands in his pockets, followed behind and greeted Ruka, “Looks like I’ll be imposing on you for a while.”
Ruka said nothing, then turned to look at Qiao Suisui who was stretching her arms to be held, and immediately took her into his arms from Zong Fang’s embrace.
Feeling his scent, Qiao Suisui finally settled down inside. She whispered around Ruka’s neck, “Ruka, I missed you so much.”
Ruka smiled tenderly, supporting her buttocks with his strong arms like holding a child, his other hand gently patting her back, and softly said, “I missed you too.”
The guard beside them stood meticulous, his face flushing with excitement seeing several top men gathered together. Having served many days at the Imperial Court, he finally saw a smile on Colonel Sikoses’s face, which had been as cold as an ice planet before. He glanced once, then again, thinking he definitely had to gossip about it with his brothers later.
The lonely Imperial Court came alive again due to the return of its mistress.
Qiao Suisui was back in her palace, and after freshening up, she slipped into a teal satin dress. The tight-fitting outfit showcased her figure perfectly, ethereal yet oozing with allure. She remembered this dress was custom-made by Leberli; it wasn’t even finished when she left.
Looking at herself in the mirror, she thought she really had left for quite a while this time—it felt longer than ever, apart from her previous stay in Soter.
Being back in a familiar place, her mood inevitably relaxed. Considering her pregnancy, she had been very careful not to use her spiritual power, so when Isabella suddenly appeared behind her, Qiao Suisui was startled.
“How did you come in without making a sound?” she asked, covering her heart, surprised at the sight of the girl before her.
Isabella burst into tears and embraced Qiao Suisui, “As soon as Leberli seized power, he sent me away. I only managed to return recently thanks to Adler’s family power. But you were not here…” she sobbed.
Qiao Suisui comforted her, “There, there, I had to step out for a while, but I’m here now, aren’t I?”
Once the two girls let down their guard, they quickly became close, dissolving the awkwardness of their long separation.
Sniffling, Isabella looked at her, tears in her eyes, “Do you know where my brother is? I can’t reach him.”
“Lanze?” Qiao Suisui paused upon hearing his name, then shook her head, “I haven’t been in touch with him for a long time.”
“Did you two have a fight?”

“Not exactly… kind of.”
It was hard for her to explain; Lanze had once been her closest friend, but now…
Seeing her downcast, Isabella, despite her own tears and sniffles, patted Qiao Suisui’s shoulder, and said, “I know my brother, he’s definitely not a bad person. He’s always been reserved, but he knows everything I think. I just feel he doesn’t know how to fight for himself. Anyway, never mind that, tell me, what happened after I saw you last?”
The last time she woke up, everything had changed. Leberli rebelled, Neo had her controlled, her consorts, sensing the tide turning, left her stranded at the Imperial Court and fled, only Adler stayed faithfully by her side.
The two girls sat cross-legged in a beanbag, whispering secrets. Isabella shared her wanderings, and Qiao Suisui told her about her schooling and establishing Freedom. Before they knew it, evening had arrived.
When Ruka came looking for her, Isabella was still unwilling to leave.
“I’m sleeping here tonight, let’s see who dares to stop—huh?”
The environment suddenly flipped before her eyes, and Isabella found herself hoisted over Adler’s shoulder as he gave Qiao Suisui and Ruka an apologetic smile, saying, “Sorry, I’m taking the Princess home now.”
As they left, Isabella waved to Qiao Suisui from over the man’s shoulder and called out, “Wait for me tomorrow, I’ll take you somewhere fun!” she said, waving and then complaining to the man, “Adler, your shoulder is too bony, haven’t I told you not to work out so much?”
Once Isabella was gone, the once chattering hall suddenly went quiet. Ruka approached and casually fixed the hair draped over her back, asking, “Hungry? Leberli has prepared a dinner, do you want to go?”
In fact, the dinner was specially arranged to welcome her, but Ruka, fearing she was too tired from just returning, asked for her preference first.
Qiao Suisui nodded happily, took Ruka’s hand, and they walked out together, asking as they walked, “Seeing Isabella again, how do you feel?”
Ruka showed no change in expression, and said indifferently, “The same as before.”
Noticing Qiao Suisui cocking her head to listen for his reply, he slowly uttered one word, “Noisy.”
Qiao Suisui suppressed a laugh, then asked, “After all, she grew up with you, and she’s the only female around you, have you really never been moved even for a moment?”
On hearing this, Ruka stopped walking, pulled her close, and said earnestly while looking down, “Suisui, will my past… make you uncomfortable?”
In fact, it was he who had asked Leberli to send Isabella away, not wanting Qiao Suisui to have a thorn in her heart—or perhaps, it was a thorn in his own heart. He had once, for the sake of his Family and loyalty, considered becoming a mate to another female, even starting the ceremony. Whenever he remembered his indecision and helplessness back then, Ruka’s feelings became quite mixed.
Therefore, he had strictly ordered that no one from the Military Department or his people discuss that part of the past. He could not interfere with Isabella’s return, and with Leberli far on the Southern Battlefield, he could only wait for his return to handle things, never expecting Isabella to directly sneak into her palace.
Ruka put his hand on his left shoulder, and said seriously, “I have never been moved by her for a moment. If I’ve lied to you, may I never gain your gaze again.”
Qiao Suisui quickly pulled down his hand swearing, “I was just joking, Ruka, I really don’t mind your past.” She smiled brightly, looking up at him, saying, “I just thought, you and Isabella have grown up together, don’t become strangers because of me.”
A tender smile filled Ruka’s eyes, which she could not understand. Aside from her, he didn’t need any other ‘connection,’ no matter what that connection was.
But Ruka didn’t disregard her kindness; instead, he kissed her lips, saying ‘okay’.
The dinner was a private party, and Zong Fang and Carl invited themselves. The banquet was held on the top floor of an ancient castle in the Imperial Court. It was the first time for Qiao Suisui there, and she found it intriguing. The interior decor was luxurious, reminiscent of a grand court from the 17th-century Renaissance period.
“This place was unused for many years and was only recently renovated.”
Leberli introduced her to some strange and secret gossip, all of which were the unsavory tales from the Royal Family that Qiao Suisui found fascinating.
“It’s said that the top floor was built by the Second Emperor for his stepmother. Back then, reproduction wasn’t as challenging as today. Among the born females, the most prestigious was Lady Daisy. After she became the First Emperor’s consort and had a son, she led a very happy life.
However, the older son, the Second Emperor, fell in love with Lady Daisy and secretly assassinated her young son. Then, after his father passed away, he built a castle for Daisy and imprisoned her there.”
At this, Carl lazily interjected, “A tyrannical Emperor in love with his mother? That’s thrilling, isn’t it?”
