I am the Entertainment Tycoon-Chapter 794: A Night at Sayuri’s House
The sun had set over Elffire City, casting a soft, golden glow across the skyline. It was Sunday evening, and the streets were quieter than usual as many people prepared to gather around their televisions for one of the most anticipated events of the year: the Sapphire Awards. Inside Sayuri's house, the atmosphere was anything but calm. The living room had been transformed into a cozy celebration space, complete with soft cushions scattered across the floor, an abundance of snacks, and the gentle hum of excitement as Sam, June, and Sayuri prepared for a night of music, laughter, and spectacle.
Sayuri, ever the host, had gone all out. Her house, a beautifully decorated apartment in one of the prestigious parts of Elffire City, was filled with warmth and charm. The living room, with its modern furniture and large windows offering a stunning view of the city's skyline, felt inviting. The wide-screen TV was already set to the channel broadcasting the Sapphire Awards, and in front of it was a low table covered with every imaginable snack. Bowls of chips, pretzels, candies, and popcorn were arranged around the table, and the air was fragrant with the aroma of freshly baked treats.
"Okay, I think we're all set," Sayuri said with a grin as she placed the last platter of snacks on the table. She was wearing a comfy oversized sweater, her long hair tied up in a bun, giving off the perfect vibe for a relaxing night in.
Sam, already lounging on the sofa with her feet up, grinned. "This looks amazing, Sayuri. You've outdone yourself."
"Well, if we're going to watch the biggest music event of the year, we might as well do it right," Sayuri replied, settling into the chair next to Sam. She pulled a blanket over her legs and grabbed a handful of popcorn.
June walked in from the kitchen, holding a tray of drinks. She had her phone in one hand, scrolling through updates about the Sapphire Awards, and a big smile on her face. "Guys, I can't wait! I've been looking forward to this all week."
Sam, who was wearing a casual t-shirt and sweatpants, nodded eagerly. "Same. I'm just glad we all have the night off for this. Sayuri, no work for you tomorrow?"
Sayuri shook her head. "Nope! The team can handle things. And it's a good thing, too. I don't want any distractions tonight."
"Lucky," June laughed, setting the tray down. "Even though the restaurant's open today, I'm off, so no one's calling me either."
The three of them had planned this for weeks. Even though they led busy lives—Sayuri with her manga publishing company, Sam managing her various work projects, and June working at the restaurant—they had all cleared their schedules to make sure they could watch the Sapphire Awards together.
"We should order that feast now before the show starts," June suggested, grabbing her phone again. "I was thinking maybe we get some sushi and those amazing ramen bowls from the place down the street?"
"Oh, yes!" Sam agreed, her eyes lighting up. "I'm definitely in the mood for sushi."
Sayuri nodded enthusiastically. "Perfect. Let's make it a full-on feast."
As June placed the order for delivery, Sam and Sayuri flicked through the channels on TV, waiting for the red carpet highlights to play again. The trio had already caught glimpses of the pre-show coverage, but they were eager to relive the magic of seeing their favorite stars arriving at ArtReam Hall in Catadrid.
The room was filled with easy chatter and laughter as they talked about the event. Sam leaned back and sighed contentedly. "Honestly, I can't wait for the performances tonight. I heard some big surprises are planned."
Sayuri raised an eyebrow, grinning. "Like what?"
"Well," Sam began, "I read somewhere that one of the artists is going to debut a brand-new song, and there's supposed to be some kind of epic collaboration on stage."
June chimed in, "I'm so excited to see Moonlight win an award."
Sayuri laughed. "Me too, I'm sure he will win the Best New Artist category."
As if on cue, June's phone buzzed with a notification, and she glanced down, her eyes widening. "Oh my god!" she exclaimed suddenly, her voice filled with excitement.
Both Sam and Sayuri looked at her, surprised. "What?" they asked in unison.
June quickly swiped through her phone, her face lighting up. "Moonlight just won one of the technical awards before the ceremony even started!"
Sam leaned forward, grabbing a chip from the bowl. "Really? Which one?"
"Best Romantic Song Performance," June said, showing them her phone. "It's on the official Sapphire Awards page. He won for the 'Perfect' perforamce he did at Nancy's Show."
Sayuri grinned widely, clapping her hands together. "That's amazing! I knew he'd win that one. 'Perfect' has been topping the charts for months. Plus, no other song from last year can compete with 'Perfect' when we talk about romance."
The three of them cheered, clinking their glasses together in celebration. They were all huge fans of Moonlight, and any recognition he received was well-deserved in their eyes. Sam, who had followed Moonlight's rise since the release of his first album, beamed with pride. "I can't wait to see his acceptance speech. If he gives one, that is."
"He's so mysterious, though," Sayuri mused. "I wonder if he'll say anything tonight."
June smirked. "Well, we already saw him and Tsukuyomi on the red carpet. And they looked incredible. Did you see those kimonos?"
Sam nodded eagerly. "I did. They looked like they walked right out of a fairy tale. That black and red kimono on Moonlight was everything."
"Don't even get me started on Tsukuyomi," Sayuri added. "She looked like a goddess with that black-and-white theme. I don't know how they manage to stay so mysterious and yet so captivating at the same time."
June chuckled, glancing down at her phone again. "People online are losing their minds over their outfits. I'm seeing posts about how they're like banished fairies or celestial beings who decided to grace the red carpet."
Sam laughed. "That's not too far off, honestly. The way they move, the way they hold themselves—there's something magical about them."
As they continued to chat about Moonlight and Tsukuyomi's red carpet appearance, the room buzzed with excitement. Their conversation flowed easily, bouncing from one topic to the next as they speculated about who might win Artist of the Year and which performance would stand out the most. The three friends were perfectly at ease, surrounded by snacks and drinks, waiting for the main event to begin.
Suddenly, the familiar tune of the Sapphire Awards intro played on the TV, signaling that the ceremony was about to start. Sam, June, and Sayuri fell silent for a moment, their eyes glued to the screen as the grand opening sequence began. The camera panned across the stunning interior of ArtReam Hall, its iconic architecture lit up with dazzling blue and silver lights. The audience, dressed in their finest, filled the seats, and the stage was set for a night of unforgettable performances and emotional wins.
"It's starting!" June whispered, leaning forward with a wide smile.
Sayuri grabbed a handful of popcorn, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Here we go. Let's see how many awards Moonlight takes home tonight."
Sam settled back into her seat, a grin spreading across her face. "It's going to be a good night."
As the lights in the hall dimmed and the first presenter stepped onto the stage, the three friends sat together in happy anticipation, ready to experience every moment of the Sapphire Awards. For now, the outside world faded away, and they were fully immersed in the magic of the night.
