I Am Scouted by Real Madrid-Chapter 374 - 39: Just Do It! (Part 2)
Pepe’s face visibly reddened, and Chen Zhong quickly grabbed him and whispered, "Calm down."
"I’ll get back at him."
Meanwhile, Yaya Toure had a simple-minded smile on his face, and threw a provocative glance at Chen Zhong, hoping Chen Zhong would lose his cool and say something.
But Chen Zhong ignored his "mind games," and only comforted Pepe, making Yaya Toure a bit uneasy.
"A reckless foul by Yaya Toure."
"Pepe’s explosive temper, as if saying, ’You bully my brother? Do you believe I’ll beat you to death?’"
"The referee gave Pepe a verbal warning, but didn’t card Yaya Toure."
"If the referee’s standard changes later on, it could get messy."
"The already troubled referee might find himself in quite a pickle."
Some fans agreed with the commentator, and Pellegrini once again pressured the fourth official on the sidelines, unsure if it would work, but feeling he had to do it.
The noise at Camp Nou was unbearable.
Alonso stood by the ball, ready to take the free kick at any time.
Players from both teams were bunched up tight, and after Alonso raised his right hand to signal, he lobbed the ball towards Chen Zhong.
Chen Zhong turned his head to confirm the defenders around him.
Yaya Toure spotted Chen Zhong and gave a provocative smile.
Chen Zhong snorted coldly, and both of them jumped at the same time, with Chen Zhong’s elbow savagely hitting Yaya Toure’s shoulder in mid-air, causing Yaya Toure to cry out and fall to the ground.
"Beep beep beep!"
The referee blew the whistle again, and the Barcelona fans in the stands were not having it, raising a huge commotion to pressure the referee.
The referee approached, looking sternly at Chen Zhong, while Yaya Toure remained on the ground, seemingly hoping to win the referee’s sympathy.
"Come over here." The referee beckoned to Chen Zhong with a finger, saying, "I saw that clearly."
"Then you must’ve noticed he was pulling me first, just like earlier."
"I was just moving my arms naturally."
Chen Zhong deliberately brought up the earlier incident, thinking, Yaya Toure clutched my neck and fouled without a card before, and now when he pulled me and I accidentally brushed against him with my normal arm movement, how can you call that a foul?
"The last time." The referee warned with a dark face, as his leniency slowly let the game get out of control.
"The referee called Chen Zhong over."
"No card issued!"
"Just a verbal warning."
"How do I put this referee’s level?"
"I really don’t understand."
Whether a match flows smoothly can sometimes be influenced by the referee, and this one is being so lenient with cards, practically allowing the players more leeway, likely putting the game at risk of losing control.
Of course, if Barcelona isn’t focused on playing but on hitting back, it benefits Real Madrid.
Since Real Madrid is leading by one point now.
It has to be said, Guardiola has some skills.
Even though many people think his titles are "easy wins," with players like Messi, even a dog could win as coach.
But aside from loving big plans and being somewhat "indecisive," he clearly has other good qualities.
He quickly realized Real Madrid’s intentions. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
He loudly called to his players on the sidelines, telling them to focus back on the match and not get caught up in squabbles with the opponents.
But both teams were genuinely fired up.
Camp Nou turned into a wrestling ring, and the tactics of both Barcelona and Real Madrid became completely unimportant because they just went at each other!
Messi was brought down here, and C. Ronaldo was kicked down there.
The referee’s whistle hardly stopped since Chen Zhong’s elbow hit Yaya Toure.
The whole game became fragmented.
"Whoa!"
"Messi!"
"Down on the ground."
"Chen Zhong’s sliding tackle was incredibly decisive."
"Messi got up, the camera gave a close-up."
"It seems like there’s blood in his mouth, did he bite himself or?"
Messi sat on the ground, with a blade of grass stuck on his head. He came out of his daze, wiped the blood from his mouth corner, and looked at the emotionless Chen Zhong walking past.
"(#`O′) Hey!" Messi finally couldn’t help but shout.
The game was going fine, how did it suddenly turn out like this?
Chen Zhong glanced at Messi with a scrape at his eye corner and blood on his mouth, saying nothing and striding away.
He was completely going for the ball and got it first. Messi charged too fast and couldn’t stop himself, face was down.
What did it have to do with him?
What?
Just because everyone thinks Messi is a once-in-a-generation genius, and recent "rules" tend to protect him, should I treat him as a treasure?
The Barcelona fans in the stands were furious, waving their arms, booing and cursing to express their dissatisfaction!
"Murderer!"
"Executioner!"
"Red card! He must be given a red card!"
And Real Madrid fans chanted "Chen!" over and over to show their support for Chen Zhong.
Chen Zhong scorned the calls from Barcelona fans.
But upon hearing the cheers from Real Madrid fans, he powerfully swung his right arm, revealing a determined expression.
Guardiola called Messi off the field, allowing the team doctor to treat his wound simply, while Messi’s eyes remained fixed on Chen Zhong, puzzled why Chen Zhong suddenly became so fierce.
Messi’s injury seemed to anger Barcelona’s players as well.
In the 42nd minute, Barcelona launched an attack.
Real Madrid’s players didn’t pay much attention, thinking they would wait for Messi to return to the pitch.
But Barcelona was aiming for the element of surprise.
First, Iniesta with a quick move, teased Ramos, then Xavi received the ball and delivered a pinpoint pass, breaking through Real Madrid’s defense.
Henry had already "started slowly," and seeing Xavi get the ball, he quickly dashed forward.
Henry’s burst of speed was extremely fast, leaving Real Madrid players behind and getting a one-on-one with the goalkeeper in the box!
Barcelona fans stood up, straining their necks.
In their eager eyes, Henry lifted his foot!
"Boom!"
The ball rocketed towards the goal like a missile.
However, Casillas reacted swiftly.
With one palm, he knocked the ball away.
At that moment, Chen Zhong, who had rushed back into the box, cleared the ball with a powerful kick.
"What are you doing!"
"What the hell is everyone doing!"
In that moment, Chen Zhong seemed to channel Schuster, with a piercing gaze, loudly saying, "Damn it, the game isn’t over yet!"
"Why does everyone think they’ve already won?"
"Damn it, focus all of you!"
Pepe shivered slightly seeing the roaring Chen Zhong, and Marcelo, seeing this scene, casually commented, "Why are you shivering..."
"Thrilled!" Pepe said a word, then ignored Marcelo, leaving him utterly baffled.
What the heck?
Pepe has this kind of interest?
I didn’t know!
Messi returned to the field, relaying Guardiola’s instructions, and Guardiola apparently resigned to their first-half performance.
In the remaining time, neither team had any substantial attacks.
Real Madrid ended the first half with a one-goal lead.
The players from both teams left the field still full of anger, and Pellegrini glanced at the serious-faced Guardiola, knowing deep down that the second half is the real deciding factor.
After a brief halftime break, the second half began.
