I Am Not A Goblin Slayer-Chapter 374 - 238: Spineless Goblin
Gauss activated.
He ran with incredible speed.
The power under his feet seemed almost limitless for a short time, just a light push and his body shot forward.
So light!
Even he was astonished.
The force generated by gravity seemed to have completely failed on him.
Perhaps his intentions were too obvious as several tall and burly Big Goblins wearing neat iron armor roared and charged towards him along the way.
Other than the skin color and similarly ugly appearance, at first glance, it’s almost difficult to associate them with the short goblins, as if they were entirely different species.
Broad backs and stout bodies, nearly all adjectives for strength could be applied to them.
But in terms of agility, they didn’t possess outstanding abilities.
Gauss leapt forward and darted through the blockade of several Big Goblins. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
As they were about to turn around for pursuit, a searing sting immediately transmitted from their armor.
"Ssss!"
The tight armored plates against their skin became uncomfortably hot.
Gauss’s figure continued accelerating forward.
As he approached the goblin shaman, it still hadn’t fully reacted.
Unable to comprehend how he so easily surpassed its kin and appeared in front of it.
Its murky pupils rapidly enlarged!
Danger!!!
All its hairs stood on end! The creased skin faintly sent prickling sensations, a warning from its body instinct about the danger posed by the creature before it.
Gauss’s form kept expanding in its sight.
The kind of tangible oppressive feeling like waves crashing down, almost made it faint.
The pressure from the weak Dragon’s Might combined with the Goblin Slaughterer’s was unleashed at close range, something no non-goblin creature could truly understand.
Now Gauss, in the goblin shaman’s eyes, was the most terrifying creature it had ever encountered.
This judgment may be somewhat exaggerated, since Gauss’s strength might not be immensely rare to it, but their relationship was akin to the innate bloodline restraint like that between a cat and a mouse.
Even more severe than the cat-mouse relationship, for the fear of Giant Dragons is an instinct etched into the deepest part of goblin genes.
Goblins lay at the bottom tier of monsters, while Giant Dragons are among the highest class creatures.
For dragons, capturing and annihilating goblins is as simple as humans catching grasshoppers.
For goblins, dragons are both revered lords and moving, irresistible disasters.
Countless events of dragon claws descending and dragon breath flames wiping out entire tribes have occurred on this continent.
The goblin shaman’s mind was blank, fear gripping its heart, causing it to even begin suffocating.
"Die!"
In the goblin shaman’s brief daze, Gauss had already flashed in front of it.
With scales covering his raised right hand transformed into dragon claws.
The intense prickling finally awakened its survival instincts, triggering a transparent shield of energy instinctively around it.
Yet beyond that, it could do no more.
Because Gauss’s actions were simply too swift.
Descending like a small humanoid Giant Dragon, his right claw tore through the air, roaring straight for its head.
If that claw hit without protection, even the hardest rock would be pierced like tofu, even easily wrenched out.
Luckily, at the critical moment, the shield in front of it managed to solidify.
"Bang!!!"
Gauss’s dragon claw crashed heavily against the suddenly bright transparent shield, producing a muffled boom.
The collision of energies erupted into dazzling sparks and radiant streaks.
However, the clash of offensive and defensive energies quickly determined the outcome in a very short time.
Around the contact point of the dragon claw, the shield twisted and vibrated violently, soon shattering.
But at the most crucial moment, it completed its mission, saving its master’s life.
"Boom!" The goblin shaman was blasted away by a massive shockwave.
Scarlet blood spurted from its mouth.
Blood threads saturated its teeth roots, the intense pain made it grip the wooden staff tightly, its sharp nails nearly digging into the staff.
A hoarse, meaningless howl erupted from its throat.
As it flew backward, a shield seemed to vaguely regenerate around its body.
Meanwhile, other Elite Goblins responded to the call, aggressively charging toward Gauss, a red glow surged over them, making their already strong bodies bulkier.
Gauss’s gaze was fixed firmly on the flying goblin shaman.
Next moment, he raised his right claw, a ripened magic missile appeared in his palm.
"Boom!"
A second-ring missile, half again larger than a normal magic missile shot forth.
Roaring as it flew at the goblin shaman.
Invisible airwaves surged along the missile’s path, rippling out in waves.
In the blink of an eye, it reached the goblin shaman.
"Bang!" The yet-to-form shield was instantly shattered by the magic missile, countless glowing shards spun.
"Boom!" Gauss quickly followed up with a second and third magic missile.
This time, finally without any shield, the magic missiles tore through the air, heavily striking the still backward-flying goblin shaman.
A tremendous explosion sounded in the air.
