Chapter 57: Seven-Hued Celestial Dragon Spear

Michael was lying on the ground, letting his body have time to stabilize as soon as possible. Then he suddenly heard an extremely piercing sound from Dragon God.

’Why the hell are you humiliating me? I’m not Slaughter God either.’

Right now in his heart he wanted to curse Slaughter God to death. That mess of ’small conflicts’ that damn bastard talked about almost made him die young on this continent. If back then those sharp claws had stabbed into his skull, he’d probably be dead for real.

After calming down, he felt the life-and-death issue was temporarily guaranteed. As long as he responded seriously, Raphael would definitely come to save him. Dragon God might be a god but right now she wasn’t very strong either. Compared to a contractor at the demigod level like Raphael, she was way weaker.

Normally fighting with Leo, even though it was dangerous, it was still just practice. This time really counted as his first proper battle on this continent.

"Hmph, just keep underestimating me. Soon I’ll show you." Michael snorted, muttering a tough guy line, his eyes focused on the current situation.

At the center of the battle, Leo’s gaze was serious yet somewhat confused as he stared at the little girl calling herself Dragon God right in front of him.

"Is there some misunderstanding? I’m not Martial God, that guy lying flat on the ground over there isn’t Slaughter God either. If we were gods, how could we be this weak? Besides, I made a contract with Eat God, he made a contract with Cook God. No relation to the two gods you mentioned at all."

Even though he now understood those were the real titles of those two gods, that wasn’t the important thing. The important thing was he and Michael seemingly had never done anything wrong to her. So there was no need to fight to the death, they could take it slow and sit down to talk things out.

"Cook... Eat?"

Dragon God was momentarily stunned, repeating these two words over and over in disbelief. Then she suddenly seemed to realize something and raised her head to the sky, roaring a furious cry.

"Ha ha... ha ha ha... Of course the way that bastard names things is also completely bastard-like. I’m going to rip out the tendons and skin off you two bastards."

Her laughter was a result of extreme anger, the laughter utterly terrifying. Her whole body’s muscles tensed, energy constantly in a state ready to burst. Her gaze burning with murderous intent looked toward the two ’bastards’.

Leo was startled by her sudden change in state. What is this? Why wasn’t it like the beautiful scenario he imagined in his head? He thought he could calm her down, so why was she getting crazier the more he talked?

Things had come to this, no other choice but to fight her. She was strong but if he and Leo coordinated, winning wasn’t impossible.

Looking toward Michael who was still lying motionless but hadn’t passed out. Leo thought just stalling a bit until Michael could support him was enough, no need to go head-to-head for now.

Dragon God shot toward Leo, she raised her hand with sharp claws wrapped in energy and slashed at him.

Having already decided to stall, Leo immediately leaned to the side to dodge. When he saw her off-balance from missing the attack he pushed hard on her arm to turn her back toward him then shoved her almost falling forward.

She quickly regained balance but her expression grew uglier by the second. Dragon God, high and mighty, now felt like she was being looked down on.

"You bastard! You’re underestimating me? What’s with pushing me? You really think I can’t kill you?"

She angrily pointed her finger at his face, her eyes practically blazing. If her gaze could kill, Leo would’ve been stared to death by now.

"I never underestimated you. This is just my fighting style. Don’t falsely accuse people."

Leo shrugged, his face full of innocence. But his tone full of mockery and provocation stabbed straight into her fiery soul.

"Damn it, damn it, damn it! Tens of thousands of years ago you didn’t dare look down on me. And now I only slept one sleep and you don’t give a damn about me anymore. Today I’m definitely going to eat a whole roasted panda."

On the back of her right hand appeared a seven-hued dragon-head mark. Seven-colored light flashed and transformed into the shape of a long spear falling into her hand.

The spear seemed made from dragon bone, its whole body white and transparent, sparkling under the sunlight. On the spear were exquisite patterns and ancient script with traces representing the majesty of the dragon race. The spearhead was made from a material that looked like gemstone radiating seven-colored light.

This was one of the supreme divine artifacts of this continent: the Seven-Hued Celestial Dragon Spear.

Of course what was in her hand wasn’t a real divine artifact. This was just a part of the divine artifact’s power, the real thing was somewhere she couldn’t find.

"From the looks of you two, you guys have lost connection with your divine artifacts. Coincidentally, I still have some connection with my divine artifact. I’ll use the divine artifact to skewer you from below and then put you over the fire to roast."

Dragon God gritted out, her words carrying a sense of tit for tat. Whatever Slaughter God and Martial God did back then, now she wanted to make them pay the same price.

Her figure almost vanished, then immediately appeared before Leo’s eyes, the spearhead shooting forward like a bullet.

The moment he saw this spearhead coming, Leo coated his arm with energy to deflect it since he didn’t have enough time to dodge.

His arm and the spearhead clashed, a piercing sound ringing out. Leo’s eyes widened, and then he quickly created distance from her.

"What the hell? Why was my energy so easily broken like that?"

In that instant just now, he felt the dense energy covering his arm rapidly erode in a bizarre way. This was the first time he’d encountered such a strange situation.

In his past life, although there were people who could pierce through his energy defense, it was because their energy was higher, not like this.
