How I Pampered the Tyrant Into Devotion With My Space-Chapter 591: He Was Willing, but She Was Not
Yan Huan Yu looked at Pei Shu’er: "Sister, you can start researching the medicine."
After saying this, he pulled out a small vial of refreshing medicine to sniff, then placed it under Pei Shu’er’s nose.
A wave of coolness shot straight to her brain, and Pei Shu’er’s muddled mind instantly cleared up.
Yan Huan Yu kept assisting Pei Shu’er from the side, and each time Pei Shu’er developed an antidote, someone from downstairs was brought up to test it.
Yan Huan Yu was also feeling increasingly uncomfortable, his entire being in a hazy state.
In front of him, there was only Pei Shu’er alone to see.
Pei Shu’er’s voice seemed to come from another world, always separated by a layer, so ethereal, so pleasant.
So close, yet so far.
He unconsciously reached out towards Pei Shu’er, calling in a hoarse voice.
"Sister."
Pei Shu’er looked at Yan Huan Yu’s dreamy eyes and placed the medicine under his nose.
After inhaling it, Yan Huan Yu cleared up a bit and continued to assist on the side.
After a while, his whole breathing became heavy, his eyes bloodshot, his expression pained, and veins bulged at his temples.
The scenes from his dreams appeared before his eyes.
He reached out towards Pei Shu’er, and at the last moment, he bit his tongue, letting out a hiss.
But the sensation of pain had long dulled.
Pei Shu’er was also feeling somewhat muddled but still remembered what she was doing.
When Yan Huan Yu leaned his head on her shoulder, he softly murmured "sister" into her ear.
Again and again, as though fatigue was but a distant notion.
Pei Shu’er sighed; it seemed Yan Huan Yu truly valued her as a sister.
Or perhaps it was just because she was right beside him.
Pei Shu’er straightened Yan Huan Yu’s limp head, letting him lean against the column. As she was about to withdraw her hand, she saw Yan Huan Yu catch hold of it.
Those eyes looked at her, pulling her head towards him.
Just as they were about to kiss, Pei Shu’er turned her head away, Yan Huan Yu’s kiss landing on her cheek.
Carrying a warm, tickling sensation.
"Snap out of it, Fengqing."
Pei Shu’er sighed and reluctantly raised her hand to knock Yan Huan Yu out, but was caught by Yan Huan Yu, and then she was pinned to the ground.
Her voice, more melodic and captivating, seemed as though it swallowed his spirit completely.
His eyes widened with fierce intensity, as the delicate, warm sensation belonging to Pei Shu’er lingered upon his lips, a floodgate of desire he couldn’t shut.
Now, he was not like himself, more akin to a man-eating ghost.
As if trying to consume Pei Shu’er whole.
Pei Shu’er knew he had eaten much of the substance, so his symptoms must be the most severe.
And the Hidden Guards downstairs were too occupied controlling others, unable to tend to them.
Pei Shu’er gritted her teeth, sticking a needle into Yan Huan Yu’s pressure point, causing him to pause momentarily.
But Yan Huan Yu’s martial arts skills meant he would soon break free.
During this time, Pei Shu’er tied Yan Huan Yu up.
Yet she too was almost completely dazed by now.
Her incredible willpower, a voice in the back of her mind, kept reminding her not to indulge—this was hell.
She smelled the medicine again, gaining about a minute of clarity.
She hurriedly worked on the antidote, feeling intuitively that this time it must be a success.
She drank it immediately, and roughly ten minutes later, the medicine took effect, allowing her to breathe a sigh of relief.
But her relief was short-lived, cut by the sound of ropes snapping nearby.
Pei Shu’er turned around in alarm and felt a wave of dizziness as she was pinned to the ground once more by Yan Huan Yu, his hot tears dripping onto her face.
He repeated, "Sister, I’m sorry."
"Sister, please save me."
"My heart is in such unbearable pain it’s killing me."
Pei Shu’er could feel Yan Huan Yu’s despair, reaching out to push him away.
But Yan Huan Yu’s lips still brushed against her face, trembling and cherishing.
Pei Shu’er immediately rolled away to the side.
When Yan Huan Yu came towards her again, she steadied him and fed him the antidote.
Yan Huan Yu finally calmed down, his once-clear eyes no longer consumed with chaos and pain, regaining some clarity.
He sat cross-legged, more silent than ever before.
Then Pei Shu’er distributed the medicine to the Hidden Guards, who fed it to the others.
Pei Shu’er, utterly exhausted, leaned against the column.
Beside her, Yan Huan Yu kept his head lowered before finally lifting his head, eyes red, gazing at Pei Shu’er.
"Sister, I’m sorry."
Pei Shu’er sighed, looking at Yan Huan Yu, gently patting his head. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Silly child, I know you didn’t mean to."
Yan Huan Yu closed his eyes, no, he meant to.
But he knew, she didn’t consent.
Still, he couldn’t resist the yearning in his heart.
Hence, his apology.
Upon opening his eyes again, the sorrow and longing had vanished.
"Sister, everything here is settled, we’ve captured the people, and there’s no other shop nearby, let’s go in and rest first."
Pei Shu’er remained silent for a moment before saying, "No, we’ll continue our journey through the night."
Yan Huan Yu looked at everyone, then glanced at the sky outside.
But seeing Pei Shu’er’s determined expression, he eventually nodded.
"Alright, Sister."
Many guards couldn’t understand, noticing the storm had begun outside, heavy rain soon pouring down.
A guard suggested, "Seventh Prince and War Princess, isn’t it unsuitable to travel now? Shouldn’t we rest here?"
Pei Shu’er’s eyes glinted coldly.
"We can rest anytime, but not now."
The words surprised everyone even more; the people were caught, what more was there?
Pei Shu’er surveyed her surroundings and then declared, "Everyone mount up and continue, at maximum speed."
The others rode carriages while Pei Shu’er and Yan Huan Yu were on the carriage.
It was necessary to accompany some things to Tang Zan, thus the carriage was indispensable.
But with speed came severe jostling.
Pei Shu’er wished she had a car, but it wasn’t feasible.
Within the carriage, Yan Huan Yu didn’t inquire about Pei Shu’er’s matters.
Yan Huan Yu felt somewhat awkward, his heart pounding.
Yet Pei Shu’er’s graceful demeanor still pained him.
Indeed, Pei Shu’er never saw him as a man, but merely a brother.
After traveling for about two miles, they suddenly heard the inn emitting a ghastly wail.
No longer resembling any human sound.
