House of The Dragon-A God Amongst Men-Chapter 176 - 84 A.C
Chapter 176 - 84 A.C
(Third Person POV)
[Harrenhal]
"Riktor." Mya said sternly as she stood in the middle of the young lord's chambers, "How many times do I have to tell you not to leave blood-stained clothes littered all over your chambers?"
Riktor was lying down on his bed, only wearing some pants as he had a book covering his face, "Ah....." He said, "Yes, mother..."
Mya sighed, "You've spent too much time hunting, killing those shadowcats..." She said, "If you are going to hunt, make sure you don't get blood on your clothes."
"Yes, Mother..." the boy said
Mya walked over to his bed, "The maids are getting tired of wiping blood off their clothes due to how drenched your clothes are, boy. You are too young to see that much blood in the first place..." She said, "I need you to bathe, Riktor, you reek of blood...."
Riktor slowly sat up, "Alright..." He said as he book fell off his face, "I'll do it."
"Go on, love." Mya leaned in and kissed his cheek, "Your Father has left for King's Landing, when he returns, I expect you to be decent."
"What for?" Riktor boringly asked, "Am I getting another Mother?"
"Yes." Mya said as she sat down, rubbing her hair
"Why?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes, "Does Father not get tired off too many wives?"
"We're not his wives, my child." Mya said, "You know that."
"You should be." Riktor said
Mya leaned in and kissed him on the forehead, "You're quite young." she said, "One day, you will understand your Father."
He nodded slowly, "I understand enough."
She patted his cheek, "You are my son, my precious boy." She said, "But you are not just my son. You are the Son of Drakken, his Firstborn. So many expectations have suddenly been propped up for you, Riktor. Do you understand that?"
Riktor looked down, his red eyes were drowsy, "I...I suppose...."
"One day." Mya said, "You will be by your Father's side, crushing your enemies. You are meant to lead this House, you are his Heir. One day, it is you who will be called the Lord of House Drakkengard."
"Does that mean Father has to die?" Riktor asked
"No." Mya said softly, "Your Father cannot die. He is Undying. What that means is he will simply leave it to you. You will bear responsibility for our House."
"Hm." Riktor said
"When he returns, I will ask him to give you more lessons in the blade." Mya smiled, "How does that sound?"
"He says that I am too weak." Riktor said
"Relative to him, that may be true." Mya said, "But you are a boy. With enough training, you will be a strong Knight, don't worry."
Riktor nodded, "Fine."
"My beautiful boy." Mya smiled, "You are so perfect."
"Not perfect enough." Riktor said
"Don't say that." Mya hugged him tightly, "I love you so much."
There was a knock on the door, "Lady Mya." a guard said, "Lady Maegelle has arrived."
"Oh!" Mya said, "She's back?"
"Mama Maegelle?" Riktor's eyes lit up, "She's finally back."
"Come, Riktor." Mya said, "Let us greet her."
***********
"Oh, Sylas!" Maegelle caught the young boy in her arms, "You're so big already! It's been eight months, how much you've grown!"
"I missed you." Sylas said
"Oh, I have missed you as well." Maegelle said
They were in the main hall, Maegelle had returned from the Citadel. Over the last two years, Drakken had allowed her to make her trips to help out in the Citadel, healing people and directly swaying them to convert to the Trinity. In her time there, she had managed to get around a thousand to convert. And while it may not be as much as she wanted, it was enough to make people all over the realm to consider it.
"We were not expecting you for another two weeks, Maegelle." Daranne said with a smile as she stood a couple feet away, "This is a surprise."
"Oh." Maegelle straightened up, "Well, there was something I discovered and I had to come earlier than planned. I am glad that Lady Mya had an agent on standby, and they escorted me quickly."
"Maegelle..." Mya said, "You are back, I am so glad to see you."
"Lady Mya." Maegelle said
"Mama Maegelle!" Riktor ran up to her
"Oh, My Lord!" Maegelle said as he hugged the boy, "Oh, I've missed you! Have you gotten my letters?"
"Yes." Riktor said as he hugged her
"I am glad." She said softly, "Have you eaten well? Are you training?"
"Yea, I've been hunting a lot lately." Riktor pulled away, "Right, Mother?"
"Yes. Too much, if I am being honest." Mya chuckled, "Your absence was quite noted this time, as usual, Maegelle. Our Lord was rather...lonely."
"Oh." Maegelle said, "Well, I am here now....and.....I do not see him."
"He went to King's Landing." Daranne said, "It is time."
"Is it?" Maegelle said with surprise, "Oh my, I suppose it is.....my apologies, so much has happened this time in the Citadel.....lots of.....ill people.....I have helped the Maesters make a breakthrough with Greyscale....it was rather...eventful."
"Greyscale?" Daranne said, "Did Our Lord not mention in one of his ventures to Essos, that he encountered some people afflicted with it?"
Maegelle blinked, "No, not to me."
"He apparently undid the affliction....in order to have the person tell him some information." Mya said, "He mentioned this some months ago."
"Oh, that is amazing...." Maegelle said, "Greyscale is a rather grave illness...."
"Yes....well, he killed the person because they spat on his face." Mya shrugged, "So it was futile to cure it."
"Ah." Maegelle said
"Well...." Mya said as she walked over to Maegelle, "It is time, Maegelle...what is it going to be? You and Our Lord are quite close. Are you going to allow your sister to give him his first Targaryen child?"
"Eh?" Maegelle blushed, "W-Well...."
"I suggest that when he returns, you take him to your bedchambers...." Daranne started, "And you don't let him out until he puts a child in you."
"B-But..." Maegelle stammered, "My Ladies, the boys are here...."
"I know that he frequently visited you." Mya said with a chuckle, "Was it good? Good old sweaty and passionate intimacy...."
Maegelle covered her face, "Stop it....."
"We tease." Daranne said, "Boys, let us go and get something to eat. Sylas, you have not eaten yet."
"Riktor should bathe first." Mya said as she patted his head, "Go on, son. You'll eat with Maegelle after."
"Alright fine...." Riktor groaned
Maegelle took her hands off her face and smiled, "I'll await you, Lord Riktor." She said with a warm tone,
"I missed you both so much."

[King's Landing]
Jaehaerys sat in front of Aemon who was merely drinking wine from his cup, "I am not going to pester you any longer." He said, "But I will say this once...you need to have a son."
Aemon sighed, "I've had it with you." He said as he set his cup down, "I will not force Daella to have a child if she does not desire it. I asked if she was ready and she said she wanted Aemma to be at least three years old."
"She's waited long enough." Jaehaerys said seriously, "I understand that when you were married, you were still in mourning, but there is no choice now. You must bed her."
Aemon sighed, "I consummated our marriage." He said, "I've done my duty, Father. And Daella, she will do it when she is ready!"
"Daella is to be Queen when you take my place." Jaehaerys said, "She will have to bear an Heir. Otherwise, your Brother and his sons will be in line."
"I don't see an issue with that. Baelon would make a great King." Aemon said
"As would you." Jaehaerys said, "And you will be one."
Aemon looked away, "It is not so easy to just make another child, Father." He said, "Not after what happened. I am glad that Aemma is well and all, but Daella fears that something might happen to me should I put a child in her....."
"There is no reason for that to be the case." Jaehaerys said seriously, "Our Family will survive whatever it is that person has in store for us. I guarantee that."
"If you say so." Aemon said
"The past two years...." Jaehaerys said, "It has been tough, I understand. But in those two years, there has been quiet."
"That is never good. Not when it comes to Drakken." Aemon looked at him
"But it has been peace, nonetheless." Jaehaerys said, "and-"
He stopped when he noticed something on the wall behind Aemon. He stood up and walked over to see a symbol; one of a cross with flames on it.
Aemon saw this and stood up, "What? What is that?" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
Jaehaerys's face hardened, "Damn it all..." He said,
"It is time."
