Chapter 58: 058 Killing Ghost Descends
Whoosh!
Suddenly, the gnawing and tearing sounds came to a halt.
Hissing…

Something was being dragged through the grass in their place.
Thud thud thud…
A series of muffled footsteps grew closer, the friction from the grass sending a continuous rustling sound from far to near. The next second, a black shadow bolted out of the grass at a breakneck pace, its figure resembling a mad, charging bull.
...
In the faint, distant lamplight, one could barely make out the figure’s appearance. Humanoid, about one meter eighty, dressed in black clothes, its slightly deformed arms wrapped in layers of white bandages. The bandages were mottled with bloodstains, and disheveled, feather-like things protruded from their gaps. Strange, terrifying, it emitted a horror of being akin to, but not quite, human.
Bai Xiao’s gaze suddenly sharpened, his body tensing. For he saw a pair of eyes reflecting a weird green light, almost like those of a wolf.
Was this creature the same humanoid shadow he had encountered that day, and was it responsible for the recent spate of serial disappearances in Huaisui City?
Was it… eating a human just now!?
Faced with this unexpected turn of events, Bai Xiao forced himself to stay calm. When danger approached, some people would freeze in fear, allowing themselves to be led to the slaughter. Others, however, would feel rage emanate from their heart, with courage rising to the edge of their gall! All the ferocity and bestiality would be ignited at this moment, taking over the brain and controlling the entire body.
Whoosh!
He spread his feet apart, one forward, one back, sinking his weight down, every joint and muscle springing to life. Bai Xiao’s burly arms were positioned in a boxing pose, straight up in front of him, protecting his critical neck and head. His fingers clenched tightly together, the muscles on his arms knotted and hard, the large tendons underneath his skin taut.
A pair of sharp eyes peered out from the gaps between his arms.
Staring intently at the strange person charging towards him.
Thud thud thud… Swoosh!
The strange person’s body suddenly lurched forward, a bandage-wrapped arm reaching out to grab him! Below the red and white bandages, the hand was deformed and abnormally enlarged; it didn’t look like a human palm but more like the talon of a predatory bird-like an eagle, capable of easily piercing through the flesh of prey and severing throats.
A fierce shadow came at him, fast as lightning.
Bai Xiao’s feet danced the butterfly step, twisting sharply to dodge, like a pendulum shifting position. The stranger’s claw grazed his clothing, ripping it with a hiss, leaving three long tears in the fabric. A fierce light flashed in Bai Xiao’s eyes, the veins in his thick arms bulging as he delivered a powerful punch.
Fast, accurate, ruthless!
His fist heavily struck the stranger’s back, like breaking through a breached dike, the force of three hundred kilograms gushing out like a torrent.
The stranger stumbled forward with a shriek from the impact.
Bai Xiao felt the full power of his punch hit home.
If it had been an ordinary person, they would already be lying flat on the ground. Yet, this strange person seemed especially resistant to beating, with a physical constitution and defensive power that was far from ordinary.
Thump!
The thought had barely crossed Bai Xiao’s mind when he launched his next move as the stranger stumbled; his entire body spun into a Whip Leg, lashing out!
Crack!
This leg hit the stranger’s back, propelling it forward in a dive.
Just as Bai Xiao was about to follow up, that person’s body suddenly sprang back as if not made of flesh and bone but rather like a piece of resilient rubber. The figure surged back towards him, like a tiger pouncing on its prey, its movements wildly unbelievable.
Bang bang bang bang!
The two collided instantly, turning into two fast-moving shadows.
Bai Xiao, with his Perfection in Sandboxing, was so flexible that every part of his body seemed to transform into limbs and joints. Ramming, kicking, smashing, elbowing—various basic moves combined into a deadly flurry of attacks. The stranger’s chest received two fierce elbows, its left side a kick, the right side a powerful knee, with its neck and back pounded by Bai Xiao’s fists like a fierce storm.
But this unnatural monster was far from ordinary.
Bam!
Bai Xiao braced himself with both hands against the opponent’s punch, and with a hissing sound, his feet dragged two dark streaks fiercely across the ground.
“What a tough body, such great strength…”
“But its moves, utterly lacking in skill!”
The veins in Bai Xiao’s temples throbbed wildly as his body heated up from steam, and adrenaline surged. In that moment, not sure if it was due to the life-or-death struggle, Bai Xiao felt his muscles swell and his strength grow increasingly larger.
Whoosh!
The shadow charged again, like a beast hunting for food, its movements primitive and savage. Bai Xiao crouched and dodged, his shoulder took a heavy hit. He grunted, and in an instant, spun around to deliver a punch—ferocious and precise—smashing it hard onto the monster’s occiput. That blow had a significant effect!
The monster let out a roar, its entire body’s movement visibly stiffened.
A ferocious light flashed in Bai Xiao’s eyes as he suddenly retracted his punch, following with a straight punch that shot out like an arrow.
With that strike, the monster was actually slammed to the ground.
“Its weak spot is at the back of the head!”
Bai Xiao pounced fiercely, seizing the moment to go in for the kill!
On the ground, half of the monster’s face wrapped in bandages was revealed.
It was a cross between human and ghost, not quite one or the other. Sporting human facial features but with grotesque traits reminiscent of a raptor. At that moment, whether it was due to sustaining a severe injury, the monster’s entire face began to mutate towards that of a raptor, its body gradually swelling. Especially its deformed arms, they doubled in thickness, with claws as large as a human head.
Its eyes blazed with a fierce green light as it was about to roll up from the ground.
However, an iron fist had already come crashing down, carrying a force of over three hundred kilograms, thundering onto the back of the monster’s head with a dull sound. The mutating face of the creature had just started to rise from the ground, only to be pressed down again strongly.
“Die for me!!!”
Malevolence surged from within Bai Xiao.
He clenched his fists, the size of sandbags, his arms flushed red and veins on the bulging muscles pulsating. Another punch smashed down!
Thump!
The monster’s head took another heavy blow.
Bai Xiao’s face twisted grimly, his eyes filled with madness.
Whoever wanted to kill him, he would kill them!
Be it human or any kind of monster, all shall die!
Thump, thump, thump, thump!
Punch after punch, he smashed down ferociously, splattering fresh blood over his thick arms. The monster, at first capable of grunting and roaring, at some point, had become utterly silent, as if deathly still.
On the empty road, only the dull sounds of beating resounded!
Thump! Splurt!
Blood spattered like blooming petals.
It was then that Bai Xiao finally came out of that frenzied state, standing up from the body of the monster. Sweat ran down his temples, dripping from his chin. He gasped heavily, his chest heaving like a bellows, desperately breathing in the blood-scented air.
“Huff… Huff… Huff…”
Bai Xiao looked at his blood-soaked, sinewy fists, clenching them tight.
“I killed it…”
“With my own fists… beat it to death!”
