The next day, Talia woke up feeling like hell. Her body screamed with pain and she had to lay down for half an hour before she regain enough strength to drag her ass to the restroom.

After a long soak, she finally felt like human again. Looking at her reflection in the mirror she touched her head feeling strange not to find her long lush hair, instead she was completely bald as per Samara's instructions.

She looked paler and sick but she encouraged herself that everything will be fine when she completed the ritual.

She also need to start be mindful of skin contact knowing her body was adapting to poison making her extremely deadly if she accidentally touched any normal person.

She was never a fan but it led her to remember she had with Samuel. She knew that could never happen again so she cherished that encounter even more feeling the fondness for him in her heart.

It was a chanced encounter and could even be consider as him forcing himself on her but for some reason she felt grateful it happened before this so she got a chance to experience something like that once in her life.

By the time she got ready, Samara and Ariel were already waiting for her like yesterday.

"You don't look so good. Did you not get good rest?" Samara asked concerned.

"It's fine. Maybe yesterday was a bit unexpected but now that I know what I have to do, I will be more careful." Talia brushed it off.

"Maybe, we should reschedule-" Ariel wanted to say something but Samara interjected.

"No! If she says she is fine. We will proceed as planned."

"Yeah, I am fine." Talia gave them a tired smile but her resolve was evident in her eyes.

They reached the same room and Talia quickly got changed to the medical gown and lay down on the bed giving a thumbs up stating that she was ready.

"Next time, don't say anything until I ask you." Samara warned Ariel to which she said she understood.

She was more worried than ever seeing Talia's status. She looked at the recent test numbers and it was clear she wasn't in her best shape.

"I have altered the formula a bit. There will be less of the antidote this time but a stronger mix of poison. This will create a more violent reaction but I think she can take it." Samara informed Ariel.

The source of this c𝓸ntent is freewebnøvel.coɱ.

"Why? Isn't it better to follow the existing formula?"

"Just relying on our past accomplishments wouldn't be enough if we want to make a breakthrough. She easily handled yesterday's dosage, we have to push her to her limit so that we can better understand a better way to navigate this new path."

"But this could be dangerous! Are you willing to risk her life-"

"Yes. Why wouldn't I? Don't tell me you suddenly began to care for your sister."

"This is not about her, we should first complete this ritual and we want to study further, we can monitor her progress. Without a living host, we will get nothing."

"If that happens, we will find more subjects. What I want is more powerful weapon to defeat our mortal enemy. We have been passive for centuries, normal Vishkanyas would never be enough. What we need is something power, something more deadly than anything we have now!" Samara shouted, laying out ambition in front of Ariel.

Ariel knew about her master's obsession with past, the revenge that the ancestor kept alive ran the strongest in Samara's blood. There was no talking sense to her when she was like this.

"I... understand." Ariel had to give up watching Talia getting ready for the second phase.

Just from looking at the liquid mixture inside rhe apparatus, Ariel could tell the potency wasn't just increased but ramped up a lot.

Samara just stared at Ariel clearly annoyed by her constant interruption but she also knew what she was doing was risky, more risky than their first experiment but she knew it was necessary so she went ahead with it.

Talia was gagged and restrained so she could only writhe in pain when the mixture made in into her blood stream. The reaction was much more violent, the blackness instantly enveloped her limbs making her faint from excruciating pain.

But Samara didn't stopped the process and fully administered the dosage and constantly monitored Talia's vitals.

By now, they were rapidly decreasing. When the poison made it's way to her heart it fell sharply flat lining her. Ariel gripped the table not knowing if Talia would survive this ordeal.

Talia woke up suddenly but started screaming in pain again trying to free herself but the restraint were especially designed and robustly held her on the bed.

"At least give her more antidote. If not she will not survive. Her vitals are going haywire!" Ariel roared but Samara remained resolute.

She watched Talia thrash around in agony until she calmed down and fell unconscious again. She was in same state she was yesterday, her heart barely beating but she was alive.

"See? Everything is fine. She might take a little longer to wake up this time so make sure to clean her up and take her to her room."

"Why me? Aren't you going to be here?"

"No, since my hypothesis is proven. I have to develop something special before her body fully get accustomed to the poison. She will be our biggest weapon and I can't wait to see the results." Samara was in great mood and left the laboratory leaving Ariel in distress.

It was true that Talia was out of danger but she was cutting it too close for her comfort. She didn't want to watch from the sideline and see her only family member die in front of her own eyes!

She deliberated it before but now, she knew she had to do it. She could only put her trust in him that he will keep his word.
