Chapter 734: Robert Stephens woke up.

Daisy Ginger watched as her figure slowly melted into the gray rain, like a vague mist, silent and with no sense of presence.

Pitiful, yet hateful.

Daisy walked over and closed the door, turning her head to see Erin Ginger sitting on the sofa, staring at her.

"Mommy, where’s Daddy?"

"He’s been busy these days," Daisy walked over to explain, reaching out to rub his short hair, "Mommy will be home with Erin, don’t worry."

Erin was very well-behaved. Hearing this, he nodded, cuddled up to her, and quieted down again.

Edward Stephens had been busy for a whole week before he finally had time to come back and check on Daisy and Erin.

He had lost a lot of weight and complained to Daisy upon his return.

"I feel like a poor working stiff who can only come home to catch a glimpse of his wife and daughter."

Daisy instructed the kitchen to quickly prepare food and was amused by his description.

Still able to joke, it seemed he wasn’t as miserable as she imagined.

Daisy asked, "How’s your brother doing now?"

"Still in a coma in the ICU," the man shook his head.

Daisy understood from his vague description that Robert Stephens’s condition wasn’t good.

"Are you going out again later?"

"Yes. News about my brother got out, and Ryan can’t hold it down alone. I have to go and take charge."

Daisy nodded, then hesitated for a few seconds before asking, "By the way... have you seen Charlotte Smith these days?"

Since she was rejected last time, Charlotte hasn’t come to look for her anymore, and Daisy wondered what she was up to now.

Edward’s tone was indifferent, unconcerned, "She’s guarding at the hospital entrance. She’s certainly loyal to my brother."

Upon hearing this, Daisy wasn’t too surprised, but Edward’s tone was indeed very ruthless.

His childhood bond with Charlotte had ended completely that night.

Now, Charlotte couldn’t have possibly foreseen this situation.

But, she deserved it.

"Forget about her." Daisy held his hand and led him to the dining room, "You’ve been out of touch these days, and I’m worried but didn’t dare call you, fearing I’d disturb you..."

The man lowered his eyes, looking at his hand held by her, and listening to her quiet complaints, inexplicably, he couldn’t help but smile slightly. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Robert Stephens woke up after three months in a coma.

When Daisy heard the news, she wasn’t particularly surprised.

With the world’s most advanced equipment and the best doctors treating him, even a dead person could be brought back to life.

Moreover, he wasn’t actually dead.

At that moment, Edward was having dinner with her; after taking a call, he suddenly stood up, startling her.

"My brother woke up," he said to her.

Daisy nodded, stood up with him, and helped him with his black trench coat, "I’ll go with you."

The man saw how frail she looked and declined, "I’ll go see him and come back; you don’t need to..."

Standing in front of him, Daisy hooked the gray buttons on his coat and said softly, "I’ll go with you, it’s not troublesome."

Edward, fearing she might have objections, didn’t dare persuade her further.

He was worried about Robert’s affairs, thinking Daisy might have inner turmoil, but she always appeared very magnanimous, and he felt somewhat guilty.

As her husband, he couldn’t stand by her against a common enemy and bring her mother’s murderer to justice, and for that, he inevitably felt he had let Daisy down.
