Chapter 718: Sacrifice one’s life for righteousness

Daisy Ginger watched him, apart from a few initial rapid breaths, he seemed completely composed, which made her feel a bit discouraged.

Damn it, has she become so unattractive?

She had been so proactive, yet this guy felt nothing at all.

Daisy lay on the bed, her mouth slightly open, breathing a bit heavily.

She kissed him for quite a while; he felt nothing, but she herself was burning up.

Beads of sweat formed on her fair forehead, and Daisy, slightly flustered, exhaled angrily, "Edward Stephens, are you going or not?!"

"...Heh." The man let out a chuckle, letting her go as he was about to get off the bed. "That’s all you’ve got."

He even mocked her!

Daisy’s face turned red with anger. Seeing her efforts slipping away, she decided to go all out, directly kicking away the towel wrapped around his waist.

Edward was momentarily stunned and instinctively pressed down on the cloth, but Daisy quickly snatched it away with her foot, sneaking a glance.

That one glance left both Daisy and the man dumbfounded.

She quickly regained her composure, proudly clutching the towel in her hand, and laughed triumphantly.

She knew that being so seductive, there was no way he’d feel nothing!

The man glared at her with a grim expression, watching until the smile gradually disappeared from Daisy’s face, and cold sweat trickled down her back.

She cautiously extended her hand to return the towel, then jumped off the bed.

But before her feet hit the floor, the grim-faced man pulled her back.

Until Daisy was completely exhausted.

Edward finally opened the bathroom and went in to refresh himself.

After showering, he returned with a warm towel to clean Daisy’s body.

Daisy was utterly depleted, pitifully curled up in the blankets, her body covered with marks of "abuse."

Once her body was clean, Edward personally massaged her waist for a while.

Feeling displeased with him now, she waited until he finished, rolled herself in the blanket, turned over, and ignored him.

The man said nothing, washed his hands in the bathroom, came back to bed, and held her as they slept.

The night was so quiet that they could hear each other’s breathing.

The man kissed her cheek and said, "I’m sorry."

Daisy looked into the void with her eyes open, ignoring him, only letting out a "hmph" through her nose.

Edward kissed her cheek again, lulling her to sleep before he finally sighed in relief.

Early the next morning, the man got up, while Daisy lazily lay in bed, watching him get up and organize the passport.

The man, with his back to her, quietly took out both her and Erin Ginger’s passports and put them in the suitcase.

Packing everything he thought necessary, the man asked, "Is there anything else you want to bring?"

"Bring some face masks. I need to apply a mask on the plane," Daisy directed him, stuffing a few ex-boyfriend face masks into the suitcase.

The man silently complied.

After the three of them had breakfast together, Edward told Erin about the trip abroad in the afternoon, and then took Erin out for a walk.

Daisy’s waist and legs were still sore. She suspected she had pulled a muscle last night and couldn’t stand up straight—she was certain Edward was seeking revenge.

Even though it was for his benefit, he treated her like this!

Rubbing her aching waist, she felt somewhat indignant inside.

A gentle and self-sacrificing girlfriend like her was hard to find, even with a lantern, yet this guy still felt disdain!
