Chapter 675: Small town

Daisy Ginger wasn’t really familiar with Ryan Smith; she could only boss him around because of her connection with Edward Stephens.

She really didn’t want to see Edward, and couldn’t help but say, "Are you really not going to tell me his bank account?"

Ryan was driving, his tone a bit lazy, "What’s in it for me if I tell you?"

"What do you want?"

"..." Ryan glanced at her a few times and let out a light hum, "You can’t afford it."

"..."

Daisy rolled her eyes to the sky, crossed her arms, and leaned back in the car seat, too angry to bother with him any longer.

They arrived at the Stephens family house quickly. Ryan parked the car at the gate, let her off, and indeed hurriedly drove away.

Daisy watched his taillights, pursed her lips, and turned to look at the grand entrance of the Stephens family house.

Previously, she always came by car, but this was the first time visiting the mansion personally. Standing in front of the dark, carved iron gate, Daisy felt a bit at a loss.

The guard recognized her, and seeing her at the gate, he proactively opened it for her.

Daisy pursed her lips slightly and walked over to ask the guard about Edward Stephens’ whereabouts.

The guard was a red-bearded American man who seemed surprised upon hearing her question, "Master Edward moved out a long time ago."

...

Five minutes later, Daisy was back at the intersection.

She looked down at the address the guard had just given her, feeling a bit complicated, and hailed a cab.

She was not familiar with this place and didn’t know where the address actually was. However, after a two-hour drive, as the surroundings became increasingly desolate, Daisy faintly felt that something was wrong—

Could there be something wrong with this driver?

She became vigilant and was about to ask to get off, when the driver cheerfully announced, "Here we are!"

The taxi slowly stopped at the front of a small town. Daisy got out and looked at the modest village with red roofs and white walls in front of her, feeling a bit dazed.

She looked up and glanced at the village’s name: Spring Town.

She had never heard of it.

What was Edward Stephens doing in such a small place...

She looked down at the address again, frowned slightly, and walked into the small town.

Though the town was small, it was fully equipped. There weren’t many people, but there was a bar and a supermarket. As a stranger, she quickly drew the attention of the residents. Daisy couldn’t find her way and had to take out the address and ask a fruit shop owner for help.

The owner glanced at it and immediately smiled, pointing to a house not far away, telling Daisy, "If you’re looking for someone, they’re right there."

Following her line of sight, Daisy looked over and saw the indicated house. All the houses here were of the same color, and the one Edward Stephens stayed in seemed no different.

It took her five minutes to find Edward Stephens’ current residence.

A small two-story house with red tiles and white walls, with a metal plate on the wooden door—7-101.

It was indeed the address the guard had given her.

Daisy pursed her lips and pressed the doorbell.

"Ding dong—"

Soon, Daisy heard footsteps from inside.

With subtle anxiety and nervousness, Daisy gently pressed her rosy lips together, and looked up towards the slowly opening door.

A blonde, blue-eyed girl in a nightgown came out, slightly taken aback upon seeing Daisy.

Daisy was also taken aback.

She glanced down at the address, then at the house number, a bit puzzled.

Just as she wondered if she had the wrong place, a familiar male voice came from behind: "Irene, who are you talking to?"
