Chapter 600: Mother honored by son’s success

Edward Stephens glanced at them, his brows furrowed slightly, seemingly displeased with Daisy Ginger associating with Robert Stephens.

Of course, Daisy Ginger wouldn’t naively think Edward was worried about her. At most, this bastard man thought she would offend his beloved brother again.

Daisy Ginger coldly snorted, shot the bastard man a glare, and left with Robert Stephens.

Robert Stephens’ men waited at the door, and upon seeing them come out, they followed behind them in single file.

From the ward door to the elevator, there was still a bit of a walk. Daisy Ginger pushed him a few steps, then stopped, circled in front of Robert Stephens, and looked down at him.

The man lowered his eyes, his expression indifferent. He slowly raised his head to look at Daisy Ginger and seemed to see the hatred in her eyes before leisurely letting out a light laugh: "You’re really a girl who can’t hide anything in her heart."

This wasn’t a compliment.

It was a roundabout way of mocking her for being childish.

Daisy Ginger said coldly, "Is letting him sit in a wheelchair with you what makes a good brother?"

The curve of Robert Stephens’ lips instantly straightened. Daisy Ginger’s words obviously hit a nerve. He lifted his eyes without a hint of a smile and looked at her indifferently.

"You’re very bold," he began slowly, with an unhurried demeanor, "it seems the lessons haven’t been enough to remind you."

"What are you planning to do now?" Daisy Ginger sneered coldly, showing some disdain, "Do you have enough people around you to toy with? Was the death of Emma Magus not enough, when will it be Charlotte’s turn?"

Robert Stephens’ eyes showed no warmth, like a frozen lake reflecting a faint cold light.

This was his true nature, pretending to be some delicate white flower.

Daisy Ginger’s eyes were filled with more irony, "You’re ready to fight and kill me, yet you let Charlotte Smith live so well. You clearly have no way to deal with her. How is it that you can’t bear to part with a woman who nearly blew you up? You even personally brought along the child she had with another man?"

The air grew heavy with her words.

The men standing behind Robert Stephens looked ashen, as if they were on the brink of death, cold sweat streaming down their faces.

After a long pause, Robert Stephens finally spoke heavily, "Did he even tell you about this?"

His tone was unexpectedly calm.

Daisy Ginger said coldly, "Is there something shameful about your affairs with her? Why shouldn’t he tell me?"

"My affairs with her are none of your concern," he looked away, his expression indifferent, "you should mind your own business."

"I would like to mind my own business, but unfortunately, you insist on interfering. I don’t think I’ve offended you in any way, Mr. Stephens, why must you drive me to the wall?"

"Daisy," Robert Stephens’ tone suddenly softened. He called her name, making the hairs on Daisy Ginger’s arm stand up, instinctively putting her on alert.

"I’m grateful to you for giving the Stephens family a child," Robert Stephens looked at her, "Our family is thin in numbers, with just Edward and me in this generation. In the future, with George and Erin, the two brothers can support each other, and the Stephens family will have prospects."

"..."

"He looks a lot like Edward as a child," Robert Stephens said, "If you had brought him over sooner, I might have spared your life."

Daisy Ginger chuckled softly, "So now I’m elevated by my motherhood?"

"I just want to let you know that you should have told me about Erin’s existence sooner. Otherwise, many misunderstandings wouldn’t have occurred."

Emma Magus’ life, in this man’s mouth, was merely a "misunderstanding."
