Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 589: Fighting
Earlier, she and Lady Stephens were outside the door, hearing Daisy Ginger demand that Edward Stephens replace her.
Coming in and wanting to switch people right away, that’s a bit ruthless, isn’t it?
Edward Stephens furrowed his brows without speaking. He shifted his gaze, looking at his own legs.
His legs were in braces, appearing intact on the outside, but the broken tendons and ligaments required constant exercise for him to walk normally again.
"How long until I can stand up again?"
"It’s hard to say," Coco said as she came in, scrutinizing his legs, "This is a comminuted fracture; lifelong disability isn’t impossible. Don’t expect instant recovery — at least six months, at most a year. Take it slow with rehabilitation."
The man grew silent, saying no more.
On the way back, Daisy Ginger seemed very quiet.
Lady Stephens sat beside her, cautiously observing her expression. Seeing Daisy Ginger only seemed tired, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Once back at the Stephens family estate, Daisy Ginger didn’t say much more, merely asking Lady Stephens for the direction to the guest room before going upstairs to rest alone.
Perhaps due to exhaustion, or perhaps from seeing Edward Stephens, she fell asleep instantly, without dreaming at all.
When she woke up, it was dark outside the window, and the manor was peaceful. Daisy Ginger yawned and sat up from the bed, hearing a chaotic commotion downstairs.
Upon hearing the screams of a child, Daisy Ginger hurried downstairs and saw George Stephens rolling on the ground, wailing ear-piercingly.
"What happened?"
Daisy Ginger curiously asked, spotting Lady Stephens leading Erin Ginger out from the crowd.
Little Erin Ginger had a graze on his fair, innocent face. Daisy Ginger, feeling sorry, picked him up and frowned, asking Lady Stephens, "What’s going on?"
Lady Stephens showed a trace of embarrassment on her face. "Uh..."
George Stephens, who had been rolling on the floor, had sat up at some point, and only then did Daisy Ginger notice his eyes were swollen, like panda eyes.
His little finger pointed at Erin Ginger in Daisy Ginger’s arms, angrily accusing, "He hit me!"
Daisy Ginger examined the bruise on George Stephens’s face, then the scrape on Erin Ginger’s face, her expression growing more serious as she set the child down, letting Erin Ginger stand in front of her.
"Erin, did you hit him?"
Erin Ginger pressed his lips together. "Yes."
"Why did you hit him?"
"He started it."
"Don’t lie through your teeth!" George Stephens protested, suddenly running over to complain to Daisy Ginger, "That ugly brat hit me first! He’s lying!"
Erin Ginger raised his head, looking at Daisy Ginger, "He tore up my painting."
"Hmph. What’s so precious about your paintings? Who asked you not to lend me your painting board, you stingy brat!" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Listening to their back-and-forth, Daisy Ginger gradually understood what had happened while she was asleep, and it’s no wonder Lady Stephens felt so awkward.
George Stephens was used to having his way in the Stephens family; whenever he asked for something, he always got it.
Erin Ginger had woken up from his nap and was painting downstairs when George Stephens saw him and forcibly seized the painting board and even tore up his work. In anger, Erin Ginger retaliated.
Daisy Ginger glanced at the scattered sheets of paper on the floor, walked over, and picked one up, noting the paint still wet.
She said nothing, and the maids and servants gathered around fell silent too, none daring to speak.
George Stephens seemed to sense the strange atmosphere, lifting his head to look at Daisy Ginger, "He hit me first — are you going to cover for him?"
