Hogwarts: Even Voldemort Can't Stop Me From Studying-Chapter 566 - 181: Stars and Quill
In the forest, only one group makes such a noise—the Centaurs.
And Centaurs have always been proud; they look down on Wizards and have even less approval for Dark Creatures like Vampires and Werewolves.
If Lucas and his friends are discovered by a group of Centaurs, they will surely be killed on the grounds of territorial invasion, perhaps only the young wolf Maurice might be spared.
The Werewolf extended its claws and with a leap, scurried up the treetop to hide.
The Vampire had an even easier time; Thomas turned into a bat, hanging onto a tree, blending in with the surrounding dark leaves.
Just as they hid, two Centaurs arrived nearby, parting the grass with their bows to investigate.
The grass bore the marks of human shapes, with bloodstains everywhere. The scent in the air was peculiar, like the aroma of roses or fresh irises wafting from some rotten meat.
"Disgusting!" A Centaur sniffed and sneezed disdainfully, saying, "That Vampire is missing."
Another Centaur swished its deep brown tail irritably, saying, "He must have woken up before we got here, damn bat!"
"Anyway, he has been here." A platinum-haired Centaur looked down at the bloodstains on the ground and calmly said, "We have to find him; the Forbidden Forest can’t allow a Vampire to run rampant."
They issued a call, and soon, more Centaurs came trotting over, and a Centaur with a sleek silver-gray tail stepped forward from the crowd.
"Magri!"
The first group of Centaurs bowed their heads, stepping aside and respectfully speaking.
Magri kneeled down, dipping his fingertips in a bit of blood on the ground, muttering incantations. His pale blue eyes instantly became vacant, as if his gaze was focused on some distant, unseen spot.
Vampire Thomas widened his eyes immediately, recognizing this as an elder of the Centaur Tribe, highly skilled in Divination. Not daring to linger any longer, he silently glided down and flew through the gaps in the leaves into the distance.
Lucas hesitated for a moment, not fleeing immediately.
He didn’t think his movements in the forest could escape the keen ears of the Centaurs.
Moreover, the Centaurs were looking for the foreign Vampire, but the fact that Lucas and his family could live in the Forbidden Forest had Dumbledore’s approval. As long as he was not with the Vampire, he still had room to maneuver.
So the Werewolf just tucked his son into his clothes, signaling him to keep quiet.
Maurice nodded vigorously, eyes wide with tension.
"He’s gone." After a moment, the Centaur elder stood up and said, "He will soon leave the Forbidden Forest, and we cannot catch up."
"Damn!" A black-haired Centaur shouted angrily.
"Calm down, Bane." Magri said calmly, "At least he didn’t cause us any harm."
"He went to the Acromantula colony." The platinum-haired Centaur said, "Magri, perhaps we should warn Hogwarts."
Magri shook his head, saying, "No need. The Acromantula just suffered a severe blow yesterday afternoon, with over ninety percent casualties." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Another red-haired Centaur slowly walked over, continuing, "So after the Vampire intruded, he was accused of being the culprit of the massacre, and Argo and its offspring nearly killed that Vampire."
"Indeed." Magri said, "Whatever the Vampire intended to do, it has now failed, no need to specially notify Hogwarts."
"Ferrenze, you should keep your distance from humans, especially Hogwarts."
The black-haired Bane said coldly, "I don’t want to be seen as a servant of that school."
The platinum-haired Centaur was the Ferrenze he referred to, and he frowned at these words, saying, "Our tribe and Hogwarts are neighbors in the first place and should watch over each other. Moreover, with more dark forces beginning to emerge, we need to cooperate with Hogwarts to protect the tribe."
"What do those things have to do with us? Centaurs should be concerned with the Prophecies of the stars!" Bane roared loudly, "We made a vow, Ferrenze, never to go against destiny!"
"Perhaps the trajectory of the stars is guiding us?"
Ferrenze said angrily, "Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed, two years ago Jupiter tore apart a comet! The fragments of that comet will soon continue to collide with Jupiter! This is a sign of great change in the world!"
Bane said, "And precisely because of this, we should remain silent, protect the tribe, avoid unnecessary contact with the outside world! Just like our ancestors have done for thousands of years!"
He glared, yelling, "Ferrenze, do you want to drag the Centaur Tribe into war?"
Ferrenze said disappointedly, "If simply waiting brings a smooth dawn, why did the gods enable us Centaurs to interpret the signs of the stars?"
He looked around, then at Bane, saying, "Bane, we are not just observers of the world, but a part of it! The path of the stars has already shown us the way. If we do nothing, the changing world will leave us behind! Centaurs will become the dust of history!"
"I’d rather become dust than be used by Wizards, driven by humans!" Bane snorted coldly, turning and moving towards the depths of the Forbidden Forest.
The surrounding Centaurs quietly watched the argument between the two, including the red-haired Centaur who seemed like the leader and the Diviner, Magri, none of them spoke.
