His soul-Chapter 605: A new relationship

Not only was Selena nervous, Lucas, who had also just arrived at the apartment, felt the same way. Having had a mutually beneficial relationship with Selena made Lucas suddenly feel so uneasy when he met and talked to the girl again. There was an inexplicable feeling that was bubbling up inside him right now.

Never having another relationship with a woman since Giovana was born almost five years ago makes Lucas feel like he’s in love again now, because his feelings are getting out of control, Lucas finally has the courage to contact Selena. Even though he’s a busy person, Lucas doesn’t have a hobby of changing his cell phone numbers like Massimo, because of that, Lucas’s phone number still keeps Selena’s cell phone number, which he has kept since nine years ago.

With a little hesitation, Lucas tried to call Selena’s number which was saved in his phone list. Lucas wasn’t sure if the cellphone number was still active, considering how the figure of Selena who had worked as a model made Lucas not so sure if he would connect with Selena. However, all of Lucas’ doubts disappeared when he found out that his call was connected to the cell phone number he had just dialed.

"Hello..."

Badump....

Lucas’ heartbeat quickened when he heard Selena’s voice on the other end of the line.

"Hello...." Selena repeated her words. "Who is this? Why are you just keeping quiet? If you don’t want to talk I’ll end this call, okay! It’s getting late, so don’t disturb people who are trying to..."

"Hi Selena." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

Selena who received the call with her eyes half closed immediately opened her eyes wide when she heard a familiar voice in her ear, Selena hastily sat down, trying to receive the call properly.

"Lucas..."

Lucas smiled. "Yes, it’s me. Why are you so surprised? Don’t tell me you didn’t save my cell phone number."

Selena almost choked on her own spit when she heard the sharp words that just came out of Lucas’ lips, Selena quickly explained the reason why she was so surprised and looked confused by Lucas’ phone call. While Selena was talking Lucas kept smiling, hearing her talk in such a hurry and nervously made him happy.

"Since I decided to leave the modeling world one year ago I did change my phone number for a few months, but soon I used this number again on a different phone. That’s why your number isn’t on my phone list right now, Luke, ’ said Selena hastily.

"Is that true?"

"Yeah, I’m telling the truth. If you don’t believe me you can ask my sister, but since it’s already midnight you’d better ask tomorrow morning. You know that my brother-in-law is a little crazy, he can make us all at home this won’t happen. I can sleep tonight if I know you called his wife."

Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Gina and Massimo live with you at the Sanders residence?"

"No, they live in their own house. The new house that Massimo prepared for Gina and Regis, tonight I’m staying at their house," Selena answered quietly in response to the question Lucas just asked.

"Oh I see, I see now that your relationship is very good, huh? I’m glad to see it," Lucas said honestly.

Selena pursed her lips. "I’ve misjudged Gina before, that’s why I used to be so cruel to her. But after I found out that Gina was so kind and sincere to me, to Daddy and Rosa, I finally realized that I had made the wrong move."

"It’s ok, Selena. Everyone has their own story, and so did you and Gina."

"Thanks Luke."

Silence...

Both Lucas and Selena looked confused, neither of them knew where to start. Their discussion suddenly stopped. Selena, who was surprised to be suddenly contacted by Lucas, felt it was inappropriate to start a conversation, as well as Lucas who looked very uneasy. Going back to talking to Selena normally like this after all this time made her feel strange, an indescribable feeling was now gripping her.

After being silent for a few minutes, the two of them spoke again, asking each other how they were doing and their work. Selena, who was previously so sleepy, suddenly seemed to have a new energy when talking to Lucas, as well as Lucas. Knowing that Selena is currently choosing to continue the Sanders family business makes Lucas happy. The spoiled girl who used to be so arrogant had turned into a more responsible one, Lucas really felt grateful for that.

"Tomorrow morning, can I pick you up? I haven’t enjoyed breakfast with someone in a long time," Lucas said suddenly on the sidelines of his conversation with Selena, who was discussing the hottest foods in Barcelona in the past week.

"To pick me up? Here? At Massimo’s home, you’re not afraid of him?" Selena asked stupidly.

Lucas pursed his lips. "Scared, why should I be afraid of Massimo? What have I done wrong to him?"

"No, that’s not what I meant. It’s just that your relationship hasn’t been good all this time, has it?"

Lucas chuckled. "Our relationship is fine after I decided to let Gina go for Massimo after realizing that Gina wasn’t made for me."

"Have you decided not to go after Gina anymore?" Selena’s voice quivered a little because she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.

"Yes, since my last meeting with Gina one day after Giovana’s death I decided to let her go. I realized that Gina couldn’t accept me, that’s why I decided to continue my new life by forgetting my ambition to get Gina," Lucas explained honestly.

Selena immediately covered her mouth with one hand, she really couldn’t believe the words that just came out of Lucas’ lips.

"Sounds weird, doesn’t it? I’m sure you don’t believe me, but I’m really speaking the truth. Right now I’m actually very happy to see Gina and Massimo, it turns out that my decision at that time was right. Gina, who has suffered since childhood, deserves happiness. Only Massimo can give her that happiness," Lucas added sincerely. "So are you, Selena."

"Eh..what?"

"You deserve to be happy just like Gina and Massimo," Lucas said in a barely audible voice. "Do you have a boyfriend now, Selena?"

Selena had been driven almost insane by Lucas, a question that should have been so easy for him to answer seemed so heavy right now.

"Is that so? Sorry then, I should have known that someone like you...."

"I..I don’t have a boyfriend yet, with all the busyness that has piled up in the office, I don’t have time to find a lover," said Selena quickly without pause.

"Good, I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning and we’ll discuss this matter in more detail." Lucas responded to Selena’s words with a voice that sounded so excited. "See you tomorrow, Selena."
