His soul-Chapter 525: Still angry
"I’m still mad at you, Gina," said Rosa curtly.
Gina, who had just unbuckled her seatbelt, turned to Rosa who was sitting beside her. "Still mad at me?"
"Yeah, I’m mad at you. You’re really...arrggghhhh I don’t understand your way of thinking," answered Rosa angrily. Without waiting for Gina as usual, Rosa immediately got out of the car and rushed into the house leaving Gina still in the car.
Since leaving doctor Dorothea’s office thirty minutes ago, Rosa hadn’t spoken to Gina at all. Rosa was still so annoyed with Gina for forgiving Massimo so easily.
Watching Rosa leave Gina just smiled a little, she knew that Rosa couldn’t accept her decision to give Massimo one more chance. With the help of the driver who was still standing outside the car, Gina managed to get out of the car carefully. Joice who was waiting for Gina at the door ran to Gina, she couldn’t wait for Gina to walk.
"Today you are very late, Miss. Are there any additional checks?" Joice asked quietly to Gina who was helping her walk into the house.
Gina smiled. "Yeah, Doctor Dorothea and I talked a lot today."
"Oh I see, it’s only right that you came home late. Oh yes, the big master is also home, Miss."
Hearing this, Gina suddenly stopped in her tracks. "D-daddy is home?" stammered Gina. "But where’s the car? I didn’t see Daddy’s car."
"Master came home by helicopter ten minutes ago, Miss. That’s why his car isn’t in the yard," said Joice quietly. "Master back home alone without Mr Diego who is still in Madrid."
"Daddy’s home alone? What happened?"
Joice shook her head. "Sorry Miss, for that I don’t know."
Gina immediately smiled when she realized her mistake, she forgot that Joice was an ordinary maid. Not his father’s assistant who knows all of his father’s activities like Charlie.
"No need to apologize, Joice. It’s my fault," Gina said softly. "Okay let’s go in, I want to take a shower. My body is so sticky."
Joice’s eyes immediately lit up. Without daring to open her lips, Joice did a good job of helping Gina up the stairs to enter the house and to the second floor. When Gina entered the house, some of the maids who were tidying up the dining table where Julian had eaten dinner saluted her.
When Gina entered the room, a maid was seen coming out of Rosa’s room with an empty tray. A few moments ago when Rosa entered the house, she asked to be brought a glass of warm milk to her room.
"Today you look different, Miss," said Joice quietly, breaking Gina’s thoughts who had just entered the bathtub.
Gina giggled. "Looks different, looks different how?"
"I don’t know, I feel your aura is different from last night before you went to Doctor Dorothea’s office."
Gina pursed her lips. "It’s just how you feel, Joice. Don’t I usually do this too?"
Joyce shook her head. "No, Miss. You’re not like this normally."
"Ok, if there is something different from me, quickly explain where the difference lies. I want to know."
"I don’t know, Miss. I also don’t know how to explain it, I just feel something is different from you but I don’t know what," said Joyce quickly, her face immediately looking panicked. "Sorry Miss, I didn’t mean to be presumptuous. Please don’t be mad at me."
Gina giggled. "Why am I angry? What have you done? You did nothing wrong, Joice."
"Are you seriously not angry, Miss?"
"No, I’m just happy. You’ve been so considerate of me, thank you, Joice."
"Miss..." Joice’s eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Yes, now help me scrub my back, okay, tonight I don’t want to take a long shower. I’m tired and want to go to bed soon."
Without daring to argue, Joice quickly carried out the task Gina had given her. Joice gently rubbed Gina’s smooth back which was so soft, having a different skin from most Europeans made Gina look more fragile. That’s why Joice treats Gina with such care.
Feeling that she had had enough, Gina finished her evening shower and rushed out of the bathtub. Using the bathrobe that Joice had provided earlier, Gina came out of the bathroom and approached Joice who was waiting for her in front of the dressing table. As soon as Gina sat down properly, Joice went straight to her task, drying Gina’s long, slightly damp hair.
When Gina had just finished putting on her nightgown, Julian knocked on her bedroom door asking for permission to enter. Joyce, who was still beside Gina, immediately approached the door and opened it to let Julian in.
"Are you going to bed already?" asked Julian softly as he stroked Gina’s head lovingly.
Gina shook her head. "Not yet, Dad. I just finished taking a shower and I haven’t felt sleepy yet."
"Oh thank goodness then, there’s something Daddy wants to talk to you about, honey," said Julian seriously.
Gina, who was not yet sleepy, then looked for the best position to sit, seeing that Julian just smiled a little. In Julian’s eyes, Gina was still the same as the first time he had met her eight years ago, so fragile and thirsty for love.
"What’s the matter, Daddy? Is there a problem in Madrid?" asked Gina curiously.
"Just a small matter and it’s been taken care of by Diego for now," Julian replied softly.
"Oh I see, it’s only right that Daddy comes home first."
Julian smiled. "Yes, Daddy can’t leave you alone. That’s why Daddy decided to go home and ask your brother to be on standby until tomorrow in Madrid."
Gina nodded her head in response to her father’s words, trying to understand his father’s words.
"Tell me what you think of Diego, honey," said Julian quietly, changing the subject.
"Older brother?"
"Yes."
"He is good, he has changed a lot from the Diego I knew before. He is also a hard worker, for the last five years he has successfully demonstrated his ability to manage the company, despite his slightly chaotic past," said Gina honestly. "Why is Daddy suddenly asking me about this? Daddy’s trying to ask my opinion about Diego’s future wife, right?"
Julian shook his head slowly. "Daddy just wanted to know, Daddy doesn’t want to be seen as too picky on any of Daddy’s children. So Daddy wants to know how you judge Diego."
"How can Daddy be picky, does anyone really say that Daddy is picky, is that so?"
"Nothing, dear. Oh yeah, how was today at Doctor Dorothea’s? No problem, right?"
Gina’s heartbeat immediately accelerated when her father discussed today’s meeting with doctor Dorothea, Gina was not ready to tell her father about Massimo. "Everything’s fine, we were just talking about some fun stuff. Nothing too big of a discussion today, Dad."
"Thanks for that, Daddy’s happy to hear that. I’m sorry, Daddy missed your two sessions with Doctor Olivia and Doctor Dorothea, honey. Daddy promised, this kind of thing will never happen again," said Julian earnestly.
Gina clenched her fists, she really was in a difficult situation. It felt so guilty to hide the secret from his father who was so worried about her.
"Yes, now you sleep, it’s getting late. Tomorrow we will continue our conversation during exercise."
Gina, who couldn’t keep a secret from her father, grabbed her father’s hand who was ready to stand up.
"What’s the matter, honey? Do you need anything?" asked Julian softly.
Gina shook her head slowly with teary eyes.
"If not then why?"
"M-massimo..."
Julian’s expression immediately changed, his gentle gaze on Gina instantly disappeared. "Why, why mention that bastard’s name again? Didn’t Daddy say it before, forget that cowardly man. You don’t need him, and neither does your son. There’s a Daddy who will take care of you until Daddy’s last breath. So stop remembering that bastard again."
Gina’s chest felt so tight hearing her father’s words, there was a sudden pain that grew in Gina’s chest when she heard her father repeatedly mention Massimo in inappropriate sentences.
"Don’t be afraid, honey," said Julian again, taking Gina’s hands. "You are not alone, there are all of us, your family will take care of you forever. Daddy will make sure your child will not lack the slightest love, he will grow up to be a smart and happy child."
Gina slowly raised her face to level with her father. "Daddy’s really mad at Massimo, huh?"
Julian’s jaw hardened again. "Daddy’s not mad, after what he’s done to you so many times Daddy can’t be mad at him anymore. Daddy just thinks Massimo is dead."
"Daddy..."
"He has hurt you many times, Gina. Starting from forcing you to marry him, physically abusing you, to finally cruelly divorcing you while you were pregnant. After all that he has done, do you think Daddy is not angry with him? Daddy is very angry, honey. I think Daddy even wants to kill him with Daddy’s own hands..."
"Daddy, don’t!" Gina immediately reacted quickly. "Don’t do that, I don’t want to lose Daddy. Only Daddy I have right now."
"Oh my dear." Julian immediately hugged Gina tightly. "Don’t worry, Daddy won’t do anything like that. Daddy still wants to take care of you, Daddy doesn’t want to dirty Daddy’s hands with that cowardly blood."
Gina closed her eyes, feeling really very mixed. On the one hand, Gina is happy because of her reunion with Massimo, but on the other hand, Gina knows that she will hurt her father if she tells the truth about her meeting with Massimo. It felt so dilemma and confusing, Gina could not choose one of the two. Both men both have a special place in Gina’s heart.
Julian slowly let go of his embrace, Julian gently touched both of Gina’s cheeks using his hands which were showing his age. "Daddy will do anything to make you both happy, so don’t ever think anything of it, let alone expect compassion from Massimo. Daddy is still able to give you a comfortable life, dear. Remember that carefully, we are Sanders. Our family is a respectable family. and Massimo doesn’t deserve you, you’re too precious to that man. One day Daddy will find you a husband who is better than that mob bastard. Daddy promises."
Julian’s eyes gleamed as he spoke, his hatred for Massimo was really that great by now. Seeing his beloved daughter being hurt so many times made Julian erase his apology for Massimo.
