His soul-Chapter 458: The first plan
Diego pursed his lips. "I’m just going to get my cell phone in the car, Massimo. We’re escorted by Charlie anyway, you don’t have to worry about me kidnapping Gina."
"Diego." Massimo gave a low growl in warning.
Julian chuckled. "Diego was only joking, Massimo. How could he dare to do that, Gina is his sister. Let Diego accompany Gina to the front, you play with Daddy. Daddy wants to know what it’s like to play with you."
"Yes Massimo, let Diego accompany Gina. Play with us," added Lucas softly, replying to Julian’s words.
Getting invitations from two people at once made Massimo finally unable to refuse, with an annoyed face Massimo also followed the steps of Julian who was already leading the way without having time to give any orders to Martin.
"You guys be careful, okay. Later when your condition improves, join us," Selena said quietly to Gina.
"Sure," Gina answered simply.
Selena smiled, not long after that she immediately followed her father and the two great mafia who had become potential prey.
Seeing Selena leave, Diego then took Gina immediately off the golf course to the golf cart that was ready to take them back to the lounge, as Diego said earlier. Charlie was already in the driver’s seat and ready to take them back to the lounge.
"Are you ok?"
"Yeah..."
"Are you daydreaming, Gina?" Diego inquired curiously.
"No, I was just thinking about something," Gina answered shyly.
"What were you thinking that made you ignore what I said?"
Gina raised her head to look at Diego who was giving him a warm look.
"You need something?"
"Hmm...no, I just want to drink some refreshing water. It feels really hot today," Gina answered honestly.
"I see, just calm down later when we get to the lounge I’ll order a refreshing cold drink for you..."
"And it doesn’t contain alcohol, Diego." Gina immediately interrupted Diego’s words quickly.
Diego burst out laughing. "I know Gina, I still love my head too. Your jealous husband would definitely chop off my head if that happened, especially on a hot day."
"Massimo is a bit annoying, I’m sorry. I know you often get into trouble with him," said Gina quietly regretfully.
"There’s nothing to apologize for, Gina. Massimo didn’t do anything to me anyway, I’m used to hearing his sharp remarks."
Gina pursed her lips hearing Diego’s words, Diego who had known Massimo before Gina would have known what Massimo was like. Because of that Diego looks normal even though he’s been hearing harsh words from Massimo, it seems like Diego is immune.
"Give me your hand," Diego said quietly. "The floor is uneven."
Gina, who actually wanted to refuse, finally grabbed Diego’s hand who wanted to help her down the golf cart.
As soon as she managed to set her feet on the floor, Gina then removed her hand from Diego’s hand.
Diego chuckled. "See, your husband should have seen this. Massimo should know that his wife is a loyal woman, a woman who won’t hold hands with another man even if it’s his own brother."
"Brother..."
"Hehe.. ok ok... I’m sorry, okay let’s go inside."
Gina just nodded slowly in response to Diego’s words, when Gina and Diego returned to their lounge, they met several people who wanted to play golf. Gina’s eyes narrowed when she saw a caddy boy who was being asked to carry two golf bags which looked very heavy, in contrast to his small body.
"Gina, come on..."
"Look at that," Gina said quietly, without taking her eyes off the poor caddy boy.
Diego took a deep breath. "That’s the risk of the job, Gina. You can’t always feel sorry for everyone."
Gina bit her lip hard, Diego’s words stabbed her in the chest. What Diego said was true, but still her childhood still held pity for the small caddy boy.
"Come on in, you still want a refreshing cold drink, don’t you?"
"Still," Gina answered excitedly.
"Alright, come on in."
Gina nodded slowly, without arguing again Gina then followed Diego into the lounge. Gina just stopped her steps when she arrived in front of the vending machine.
"No...no... I don’t want Massimo to be angry if he finds out that my wife gave me permission to drink soft drinks, that’s an unhealthy drink, Gina," Diego said loudly as he pulled Gina’s hand to leave the vending machine area where she was standing sharing a tantalizing soft drink.
"Brother..."
"We’ll order a refreshing healthy drink for you at the restaurant and don’t argue anymore."
Gina could only stare sadly at the row of her favorite soft drink when Diego pulled her away to the restaurant area, when she got to the cashier Diego then started to mention his order for himself and Gina who was already sulking. Because in the end she got a healthy orange juice as her drink, exactly the same as the one she almost drank before Massimo snatched it.
"How do you like the drink?" Diego asked curiously.
"Hmm.."
"What is that? I don’t know what it means."
"That’s good, Diego," said Gina curtly. "Don’t talk to me anymore, I’m mad at you now too!"
Diego raised an eyebrow. "Angry at me too? Don’t tell me you’ve actually been mad at Massimo before, will you?"
"Don’t talk to me!" said Gina, annoyed.
"Ok...ok... I won’t force you, if you did something wrong, I’m sorry even though you don’t know what you’ve done," Diego said wisely, his voice soft in Gina’s ears. "Now brother must return to the field, otherwise your husband will definitely follow here and accuse me of doing things to my own sister."
Gina did not answer Diego’s words, Gina felt bad for being angry with Diego let alone hearing his sincere apology.
Because Gina didn’t answer her words, Diego decided to leave Gina immediately after Charlie came with his cellphone he left in the car. Diego didn’t look back at Gina until he finally climbed back into the golf cart Charlie was driving back.
Diego knew that Gina was being watched closely by Diego’s men who were around the lounge, so he didn’t have much physical interaction with Gina so as not to attract the attention of the bodyguards. For Diego, what he has done today is enough. He had to be careful with his plans, Diego knew that Gina was not an easy woman. Therefore Diego must play smart, his plan to steal a little gap in Gina’s heart must succeed.
Massimo’s uneasiness was finally over when he looked at the golf cart that had brought Diego back, his tense face looking more relaxed. And the change in his facial expression was read by Lucas.
"Relax, Massimo. Diego can’t mess with Gina, Gina is a smart girl," Lucas said quietly trying to give advice.
Massimo narrowed his eyes at Lucas’s obnoxious self-awareness. "Of course my wife is smart, the proof is she chose me as her husband, right?"
